Feedback for SSR- pics, tips, transportation, etc.

This will be our 1st time onsite. We will be staying at SSR this Dec . I'm a little nervous about some of the things I've read on Trip Advisor. (I know you shouldn't believe everything ya read, but.. ) Specifically, my main concern is the transportation. How long does it take to get to the parks? Can anyone share their experiences? Tips? It does seem great to be so close to DTD.

We stayed at SSR last December and will again this December. It was a very beautiful, spread out resort. We didn't mind the walk from Congress Park to the pool or food and we were very, very close to DTD - 5 min walk. The pools were great.

We only rode the bus once or twice, but didn't wait long and it wasn't full. If you are not on the dining plan, it may be handy to order food from an online service (like gardengrocer.com) to have snacks/breakfast/drinks on hand.
