Feedback desired on Halloween and Christmas events

Just wondering about these events, as an add on purchase for annual passholders - has anyone gone, and if so what did you like least or most about your experience?

I haven't been to the Christmas party, but the Halloween party is one of our favorites. Great parade and fireworks show that you can only see at the party. Short lines for almost every ride (except 7DMT and possibly Haunted Mansion).

Also, so much candy.

If you do a search you will find many many threads on this topic to help you decide. We did the Christmas party last year and LOVE LOVE LOVED it. Hands down the best parade I've seen in my life. That being said, it is pricey. We had gift cards last year, but after a great deal of thinking and debate, we're going to skip it this year because of the cost and add a park hopper instead.

We did the Halloween party last year and had a lot of fun. It was just DH & myself. It rained like the dickens early on so the Headless Horseman didn't ride but otherwise everything else went on as usual. We are planning to go in 2016 again.

We tried MVMCP in '11, and are planning on going again in '16.
Benefits: the reduced crowds, watching it snow on Main Street, fabulous fireworks and the wonderful parade.
Drawbacks: quite frankly the only thing I can think of (we had a REALLY good time) is don't arrive right at 7pm when they start funneling the non-party guests out of the park. Walking up Main Street was like trying to swim upstream!

While we enjoyed both, the price escalation has made it much less inviting to us. It started out at something like $45 just a couple years ago and is now over $70. A little too much for five hours when you get a full day for $100. It's like they double bill you. And they keep increasing the number of parties which means those not wishing to attend have to carefully plan their visit to avoid getting ejected from the MK early before fireworks and parades. If you are not aware of the party nights, it can really mess up your plans.

The parade and fireworks are awesome for Halloween.. If you can do it .. The Christmas one is great also BUT we go just about every year to the Halloween one..

We did MNSSHP last year in early September and it was FANTASTIC! Well worth the money to try at least once, in my opinion. We rode Splash Mountain alone. Partied with villains, saw the Cadaver Dans, watched the fireworks, dressed up, met some characters. Very magical.
