Hello, I have a honest question!! Does your kids get tired of bagels? I mean we love bagels but they would not eat them every morning or apple slices. Do they ever eat cereal or eggs or anything like that? I noticed on your reports you always have bagels and apple slices..

While I applaud all of you who are able to do this, in looking at a lot of these posts, it seems to me that a lot of people are not eating very well.

For example...and I'm not picking on any one poster..... take out pizza, pop tarts, chicken nuggets, etc. are not the healthiest items.

Love to see more people posting fruits and veggies along with nuts and grains on this budget. I'm sure I could stick to $10 a day too if I ate a lot of prepackaged items. But the long term health costs are not worth it in my opinion.

Also..when I look at what people post, how many calories are you guys eating? Sounds like either the menus are very high in calories or extremely low?
And with the exception of a few, most of them don't seem to have much fiber at all.

Just a thought.
Heather

mommiepoppins I notice your prices seem really low but you live in NY I live in NY too but I don;t think we all have such low grocery prices. Where do you buy broccoli for 50cents?

Yes, we discussed these issues early on and recently in the thread. It does not seem viable for me and my family either to eat under $10 a day because we definitely eat a lot more fiber, whole grains, beans and legumes, and produce.

It is a shot in the arm to me, though, to continue being frugal even if I am "frugalled out." There is still a lot of usable info that many people can use, kwim?
