Federal income tax refunds

Ok and now its telling me the 16th. I e-filed to get it back within 7-14 days. Not 3 weeks. Now, I am irritated.

I efiled and was told feb 5 to expect it, then online it said the 9th, i figured to allow for bank processing, now today its moved to the 16th! we were really counting on it for this friday!

I am not kidding, I think they list extended days so they don't get so many calls...lolol...

I don't get a refund...again...I owe..but much less this year. You guys should really consider just using turbo tax. you can get it for 60.00 and file it and have money a week later than HR block, but that is sever hundred you save....Those places steal from you. they put all your info in a machine, and efile it ... you can do that.

I really hope they just are saying a longer wait to keep the phone calls down...however if I had had the time to wait on the phone earlier I'd have talked to someone about it I was already on hold with the IRS.

I know what you mean. I logged to check the status for dh and it's no longer saying they have no information, it's saying they can't "provide" any information and gives a link relating to your tax situation (which is basically, discussing it can take up to 3 weeks for processing). It, also, gives a 800# to call, along with an extension number and a reference number. I called this number and it's the same thing if I dialed the regular number, with the exact same wait time. Also, very screwy, my deposit is still not showing pending to my bank account, eventhough, it's updated online and on the automated system saying the deposit was made on the 29th. I spoke to the bank this morning and they are still not seeing it

I got nervous reading this. I submitted my return 1/27 and two days later the site showed my return to be deposited this Friday 2/4. Just double checked and it's still listing the same. Hope that it happens.

I submitted ours on the 28th and the site says there is no information on us. I am really hoping it's there this week.

hour and a half later it still saying unavailable on the web site, yet the recorded message says its processing and will be there by 2-16. last night when it said unavailable, the recording said 2-9 it would be there. i wish they could tell us whats going on!

same things are happening to us. so, i called the irs (held for 45 minutes) and talked to someone. he said and i quote: "it doesn't surprise me they are saying different things and the refund chart is just a guide- if the world was perfect". ours is still processing he told me. we efiled on 1/25 and accepted the same day. ours will be direct deposited by the 16th he said- which do the math, is 3 weeks- the alloted time they are given. if it says our refund by the 16th- that means it will be direct deposited on the 19th he said.
what can you do- nothing, except wait.

I too filed mine on the 26th and it was accepted the same day. First it was the 5th, then the 9th, now the 16th.

that was my impression also. he also said to call back in a week to check on it again and they should be able to give me an exact date on the direct deposit. he did say to definetly not look for it on the 5th. 50% chance on the 12th and 50% chance on the 19th. so all in all, he helped me a bunch- NOT!

well i guess it is at least comforting to see everyone else has the same thing going on.
ours was accepted on 1/26
refund date of 2/5,
later changed to 2/9
today when i checked 2/16

so the wait continues....... we filed early, wonder what it will be like for those that file later on??

I would be okay with changing dates. But, mine is saying it was sent and it's just not there. The bank has said it never came in. The irs is saying they should have had it by now. The last thing I've been told, is if it's returned to the irs, then it will be another 3 weeks, before they mail a check. I should have saved my money (paid oop) and opted to have it mailed, to begin with.

Last year we filed with Turbo Tax online and were due to get ours the first date in Feb and ended up in this same situation with the dates changing. This year I waited until the second weeks date and it has said by the 16th the whole time. (I think the 16th really means that it will be there the 12th but clear by the 16th, that is what happened last year).

I will never file early again!

I filed on Saturday the 31st and when I checked today it said expect it on the 8th - which makes no sense to me b/c don't they deposit on Fridays? So does that mean it will go on Friday and I should see it in my account by Tuesday?

I agree- we will never file early, again. This was the first time, we've ever filed this early and it's just crazy. Dh just called me and said the irs just told him, it will be on the 12th (3 weeks out).

Okay, for real, this time....I'm just gonna let it ride and get back to work

Maybe it's the IRS, helping us to see the error in our ways

turbo tax on 1/30 accepted by IRS on 1/31 is pending according to my bank online for 2/5.....now that is quick! IRS website says 2/5 also.

Filed Tax Act online on Jan. 15 - IRS accepted January 18 - Tax Act said deposit on January 29 - IRS site said deposit on February 5th - IRS updated today with amount to be deposited on February 5th. Not bad since I had other taxes owed taken out this year - didn't slow it down a bit.
