Just need to vent.

We are over there now and I am seriously hoping things improve!

Of the 8 days we've been here, we've had two days of sun. The other six have been constant rain and cloud - and the final six days we are here have predicted rain all day, every day :(

We have a sick kid, broken camera, broken iPhone (due to rain), broken down buses, traffic accidents, ride breakdowns, tired kid meltdowns, rides shut down whenever we get there (!!), it's just like everything is conspiring against us.

We are really trying to make the most of things but it's getting so hard, especially as we are cold and wet most of the time!

Sorry to rant, just needed to get it off my chest. Please send some good luck vibes, I've never had to try so hard to have fun, lol.

Come on, cheer up, you are in DisneyWorld. I am sitting in an office in the Black Country and it is pouring down and dark, the rain has been bouncing off the window cill for most of the week. So, your choice, England in the rain or WDW in the rain!

We had a hatful of rain in July 07 when we went, but it is still the best place to be, much better than being stuck here looking forward to a drive home from a crap day at work.

Chin up, its the British way!

Steve

Now I know Florida needs rain but thats just not on...Its such a shame:headache:
I hope it improves for you. Remember that no matter where you are weather men cannot predict more then 3 days ahead accurately..so there is def time for change.

We have been in September once before and it rained for virtually the whole first week and we were miserable as hell, but then the sun came out and you totally forget how awful it was. Mind you we got hurricane francis in our third week and had to spend 3 whole days in our room!!!

The sunshine and heat is all part of the hols...so It is a huge disappointment if it's not there...

I am sending you all the good vibes I can for the Sun to come out or at least for the rain to stop...:grouphug:

really feel for you we are due out in 7 days time for a week and its going to be the same, no rides open not aloud in the pools starting to think myself is it worth boarding the plane to go. sending hugs and wishes

Oh no :sad1:

Really hope things get better, just the sunshine alone will make a world of difference although very annoying that you have broken gadgets and a sick little one

It's raining here in Wakefield too but that's not as bad when your at home! Holidays need the sun! Sending lots of sunny thoughts :wizard: your way and hope it gets better for the rest of your holiday :goodvibes

You have my full sympathy. We were there for a big family holiday at this time in 2006 and it was just the same - except we only have one day of sunshine; the first day! The rest of the time it was overcast and virtually non-stop with record amounts of rain. It certainly put me off end May/early June big time.

I hope it's not as bad at that and that you do get some breaks in the weather. Florida holidays are never cheap and it's such a shame when this happens. But, my DS and his then wife-to-be remember it as being a time when they got on all the rides very easily and made the best of it, so good luck :wizard:

From tomorrow onwards for the next 7 days accuweather looks not to bad. More and more sun and less thunderstorms. Then after that it looks wet again 17th to 21st looks very wet . Surprised to hear someone say it was cold, even when we have been in td storm in the summer we have never had it cool enough - wet yes but never cold.

Not sure what your kids ages are, but we found that when our kids were young, taking some time out and going to a charater meal for a few hrs worked when the weather was getting too much (for us it was often the wind chill over xmas-new year that got us - and we are from scotland :rotfl:). Another good restuarant is sanna where the kids can watch the amimals for an hour or so.

However one time we did give up and drive south 5 days of near zero temps, having to scrape ice off the car was really getting to me. But that was our first visit and I had not expected the cold - now I bring a few winter outfits including hats and gloves and we have used them at some point most xmas visits.

We are off in a few weeks, so I think I will start working on a rain back up plan, but my kids are now older and my fear is they will want to hit the malls if the weather is bad- and I hate wasting holiday time in shops.

:rotfl: now you see thats how everybody differs..That is exactly where you'd find me:)

My brothers there at the moment and hasn't mentioned the rain and all his photo's look lovely. :confused3

Make the most of your time there, before you know it, you will be back here in our lovely rainy country, back at work/school etc. :sad1: YUK!

I will keep everything crossed that things work out better for your last days.
Sending hugs, sunshine and happiness your way.

i would rather be in a rainy florida than a rainy wakefield lol !!

I'm also surprised to hear about the cold.

Temps are 30+ with lows at 24°C ... is that low ? I wish we had that low for our highs.

Anyway look on the bright side, you're in florida, we're stuck at work :)

Your weather in france is usualy good in the summer (I'm scottish anywhere south is good :rotfl:). We are always in France near Amboise for the summer its nearly always great, however, last year we were there for the whole of July and it was awful- It was cold -really cold I would have given my right arm for 24 C :rotfl: Will be back at amboise, after our florida trip for the last 2 weeks in july - keeping my fingers crossed its better than last year!

Oh it sounds like you need a lot of good luck vibes so here's sending you a whole heap of them!!!

All the crappy things that are happening are probably being magnified because of the weather and the way your feeling!

Really hope it improves for you soon, when you've spent so much you just want it to be right don't you?

xx

Oh no we all really feel for you ..... however I agree with the hit the malls vote. It's hard doing Disney in the rain as it's mostly outdoors here's hoping it improves for you pixiedust:pixiedust:

Thanks everyone. I see it's not just us, lol!!

We had 3 rain free hours today in the end, no sun but who cares!! Lol! Plus MK was pretty quiet so it has it's benefits.

One issue for us was SW - it would cost our family £400 for a day so given the weather were giving that a miss!

We will make the most of it. Kidshave barely even noticed the rain so they may object to a mall trip although I'd love it ;)

Not sure id do this time of year again now either! I've been spoilt by sunny August, September and October trips... One thing I have noticed is that the ducks seem much happier here, it's actually kind of funny ;)

Crossing my fingers illuminations isn't cancelled tonight but we still had a fun day regardless. I just needed a small rant about the weather, now I can hopefully get over it ;)

It's funny that actually! The temp prediction may be wrong. One day the high temp was only 71... Mildly depressing!

In terms of the cold, when you're soaked to the bone in temps of 70 something then step into air con - its FREEZING. So you do spend a lot of the time cold as the only real way to warm up is a hot shower.

What a shame about the weather. I completely understand how disappointed you must be and really hope it picks up for you and you get to enjoy some sunshine and heat
Fingers crossed for Illuminations tonight! pixiedust:

Oh dear. One year we went in early June. I said never again because of all the rain we had. Just looked at Accuweather and Monday is looking good, nice and hot 90 degrees F.

Disney Quest is good fun for the kids and should be covered on your park tickets if you have the UK ones.

Also trips around the hotels and rides on the monorails.

I also had a look at the coast, but it's raining there too.

I really hope things start improving for you. I would be down in the dumps too :( Sending plenty of :wizard::wizard::wizard:
