Hi! I am arriving at All Star Sports on 10/10 and departing 10/14. Short trip. But due to the toiletries limit on carry-ons, I have a few things I would like to FED-EX down to my resort to arrive when I arrive.

Has anyone done this? Can you let me know how it went? Thanks for any tips and comments regarding this. Much appreciated. Ely

anything to a resort but my employer (regrettably) shipped my laptop to me while I was at Disney.

If you are going to be arriving at a reasonable time, I would ship it two days since the delivery is supposed to be made in the afternoon. I would contact the resort directly and tell them you are expecting a package and mention it as you check in.

Most likely the resort will not check the names on the packages until after the courier departs so it should not be rejected and will be held until you are the resort.

Haven't shipped to a WDW resort, but for other hotels we note on the front of the package something to the effect of

Please hold for
Guest: xxx xxxxx
Arrival: xx/xx/2007

I'd probably add the ressie number if it's handy.

We shipped a package to the CR in july and just referenced arrival date and res # and it was there when we checked in, we had a message on our phone when we arrived in our room that the package was at the desk.

We just got back from Pop last night and I had FedEx-ed a package down for us the Wednesday prior via their 2nd Day Air service. I put on the FedEx label

Disney's Pop Century Resort
Hold for Guest dex08 - arrv 9/2/07
xxx street addr
Lake Buena Vista, FL zip

Also on the box I taped a piece of paper that I printed out in red

Hold for Guest dex08
Arriving 09/02/07

Then I had water shipped from Costco with same info and both of my packages were there for us when we checked in.

Just make sure you keep your FedEx tracking # handy in case you have any issues.

I just used my DIS name in my example. Is this better?

After reading this, I plan to do the same. One question, have you ever used the FEDEX ground and shipped in like three or four business days prior?

FYI I shipped a lot of family stuff from Boston to San Diego, and then drove the "breakables" back in a rented van. The shipment beat me back by several days, even though the claim that only "business days" count on FEDEX ground. If you ship on a WED or THUR, once its on the truck, Its moving! (its also cheaper!)

Thanks for the tips and ideas!

Yes, I have used FedEx Ground and their FedEx Home Delivery service several times. I didn't decide til that morning I was going to ship the stuff down so I used their Express 2nd Day service. We arrived the day before Labor Day so with the holiday coming up I didn't want to risk it not arriving on the Friday prior.

Their Home Delivery service is cool.... they work Tuesday through Saturday --- you don't have to pay extra for Saturday delivery! But that's only to residential addresses.

While their Express service is at a premium price, it was worth it for my peace of mind and ease of use. You are right though --- their Ground services are very affordable and I trust FedEx over the other carriers.

Just got back, and used FEDEX to ship to and from the POLY. It worked great. So good that DW now wants to ship ahead next year! The POLY staff said that they have notice a few guest doing that, mostly those with a number of kids. We sent all of our "WDW Clothing" to the resort. then shipped the souvineers back in the case, and put our dirty clothes in the check through baggage. checked it in at the resort. and only had our carry-ons on the trip to the airport! way to cooool to travel (Crush talk!)

yes, we fedex our toiletries ahead every trip

i'll mail the box fedex 2 day overnight (whatever it's called) and have it arrive the day before we arrive - it's held in either the business center (at the CR when we were there) or luggage (at the Pop/All Stars)

I've shipped TO just about every resort, using UPS and US Mail and I've never had a problem!
