We are going the first week in February...what do you think we will face weatherwise?

We have gone the first week in December twice. We wore jeans with short sleeves (but carried jackets for evenings) most days.

I've gone in early February twice, 2001 and 2003. 2001 was warm - around 80, definite shorts weather. 2003 was on the cold side, wore jeans & jacket most days, also had rain.

Feb. 2002 it was HOT for a Feb.:o Now, Feb. 2001 was a different story! It was about 32 degrees and windy and rainy, I about froze to death 3 days in a row!

Bring everything because the truth is you never know what you might get. As the previous posters have stated - it is really a mixed bag!

We usually go early February, and we went this year the first week in December. The weather felt about the same to me. We wear jeans during the day with short sleeves and bring a jacket with us for the evenings. I've even got some pictures of us in shorts, but I would bring a couple long-sleeved shirts to be on the safe side.

It can be a mixed bag of weather possibilities like everyone has said. Last year it was beautiful the first week in February and we went swimming almost everyday and did wear shorts everyday. Cross your fingers we experience the same this year!!! We'll be there too!

We are also going in Feb. for the first time:bounce: I am also wondering what to pack! I would also love to know from some of you Feb. experts, how crowded is it early in Feb.???::yes::

Early February is awesome - that's why we always go then. Just be out of the parks by the 12th. When President's Day weekend starts, it gets crazy. I like the first week the best, but we've gone during the second week too. There are rarely any lines, and I personally love the weather, even though it can be a bit unpredictable. I just pack prepared for both. Some nights are cold, so bring at least one really warm outfit if you plan on being outside. It's really my most favorite time of the year to go! You can't go wrong packing jeans, some long-sleeved shirts, short-sleeved shirts and a jacket. That way you're set no matter how the weather turns out. We'd wear our jackets in the morning and usually be out of them by 10:00 - then put them back on around around 6:00.

We were there this year the first week of February, our routine was to take the sweatshirt in the morning, and if we got hot we would take it off and tie it around our waist , and then if it got cold again at night , we would put it on again. Most days the temp was mid 60's which for us that is a heatwave.
We are going again next February and we plan on doing the same thing, packing for every possible weather scenario ( we are probably going to be leaving from home with snow ).

we went last Feb and will be going again the same time this year. Layering worked really well. We also did the tying the sweatshirt at the waist thing. My DS has pants that have zip off bottoms and those worked out great. We zipped them off in the afternoon when it was warm and then zipped them on in the evening if it got cool. Gapkids usually sells them.

We are going in Feb. from the 15-20 and I am getting worried by some of the posts that report it gets crazy during this time. I would have come earlier but we are trying to hook up with other family members from the East coast. Can any one tell me what it is like during these days???

Thanks

topgumm- I have traveled to WDW during this time period several times before and will be doing it again this Feb! I will warn you that this week is during peak season and many schools let out for vacation during this time. Because of this, it is crowded! However, I am used to it and we schedule well so that we won't get stuck in the biggest crowds! It is not nearly as bad as Christmas or Easter, but it is known as a fairly popular time to go there. Despite the large number of people, you will have a wonderful time. The parks stay open later and there are more events going on because of this week's popularity. You will still be able to cover a lot and enjoy your trip.

Sounds like perfect weather. DH & I arrive Feb. 4. I just had a baby and don't look my best so I don't want to wear shorts. Hope I can hide in my jeans. LOL. (DD is staying at home, BTW! Mommy and Daddy are flying SOLO!!!) ;)

mariamouse,
Thanks for the reply. I did not know that week was so popular. The schools in CA don't get that week off. If you don't mind my asking, what are your seasoned suggestions for scheduling the week. I haven't been to WDW with my kids before, so I am pretty much in the dark. Any hints would be much appreciated!

We are heading home on the 12th  Thanks for the vote of confidence. I am hoping for low crowds. We are use to 1st week in December crowds ;)
