We have visited WDW eight times in July. We have decided on a February visit with friends this February. What differences will I see? Weather of course!! Park hours, rides being closed for refurbishment, crowds, packing differences because of weather, etc. How should we dress? Any help is appreciated.

You haven't said what part of February you're planning on going, and it does make a difference. The earlier in the month you go, the colder it will be. I have only been at the end of February and the weather was perfect. Upper 70's during the day and sunny, sunny, sunny. In the evening you might need jeans and a light jacket. Earlier in the month it can be much colder. Crowds: When I've been at the end of February the crowds were extremely light. This is pre-spring break so there aren't a whole lot of people there. If you go around President's Day weekend you will hit a lot of crowds. Based on what I know of other's who have gone in early February, the crowds were non-existent then. Rehabs: I would normally say you can count on 1 or 2 things being down but not a lot. However I would have said that about September until I saw this Sept's rehab schedule. There's no way of knowing no matter when you plan to go how likely there is to be a rehab. Since July is the busiest month for WDW, I'm guessing that any other month is likely to have more rehabs than July, but you get so much more done in February. Yes, hours are shorter, but again, you get sooooooooo much more done.

Hope this helps.

We went last December and the weather was 50's - 70's. Feb weather is listed as the same range. We are going too Feb 8-13!!! In December we wore jeans daily. I bought "Cuddleduds" which are ladies silky long johns. I just bought the long sleeve shirt style in black(no pants..I hate that feeling of layered pants!!) I bought them at Dillards dept store but I've seen other brands at Target stores at Penneys. I wore that shirt, a long sleeve shirt, and a fleece jacket from Old Navy. It was quite chilly in the mornings and evening so when it warmed up during the day I would go into the BR and take off my Cuddledud and wad it up in the backpack.

We also have some nice rain jackets. They were Eddie Bauer jackets that I found in the camping section at Target. The nylon keeps the warmth in (over my fleece jacket) and you don't have the bulk of a big coat..plus you need them anyway for the drizzle. I kept a scarf in my bag too for evenings. It was during the holidays so we had our soft Mickey Santa hats on all the time and when we took them off you tell a difference with the cold air on your head in the evening. So I would suggest a hat.

t's not FREEZING cold or uncomfortable at all IMO..it's just cold/chilly most of the day and you need layers. Some people suggest gloves but I never felt like I needed them. We did not see people in major coats or anything just lots of sweatshirts and light jackets.

NOt surre about Rehab schedules yet. Just keep your eye out on this site and WDWIG has a good listing as well.

Crowds are minimal compared to summer months. We will never go again in the summer. We've gone the last week of Aug (and it was dead..we though SplashM was closed, we walked all the way up and surprised the CM's leaning on the posts!) and in early december.

We will be there in February also (3-12)! :p

I keep reading about how uncrowded it is then...but I just can't picture that! Is attendance really that low? Can we really expect to ride most things with no/minimal waits?

That would be terrific and make my planning so much easier! I'm just having a hard time believing it!
