Crew of five: Poppy, Grammy (me), and 3 little dears (granddaughter 8, and 2 adopted by heart grandsons ages 8 and 11)

Saturday, February 7 - The boys have to leave on Monday afternoon, so I want to cram in as much as possible in the 3 and a half days they are here. Yesterday we did MK and today we plan to do AK in the morning with brunch at Rainforest at 11:30 then off to MGM for the rest of the day and Fantasmic.

We start off with a wake-up from Mickey and off to AK with granola bars in hand. Once there we head straight to the Safari ride and dash right in. We were really lucky as the animals were all very active. The kids had a ball. Then we stopped by for some face painting. The little guy had a snake painted on his face and was really pleased with the effect when he did his "Spock" thing with his eyebrows. We grabbed a couple of bananas and head to the Lion King Festival, which as usual was wonderful. And we had great seats!:teeth: After the Lion King we just meandered and looked at stuff until it was time for our PS at Rainforest. As we had the MKvouchers, we splurged on appetizers and the surf and turf and shared with the kids. We also got the volcano dessert. We were stuffed! We had planned to go on the Kali Rapids, but it was to COLD!!!! Yesterday 80's, today 60's and falling. So we headed right to MGM.

Well MGM was more crowded than I expected because it was cheerleader day! Also Indiana Jones was closed because of Cheerleader Competition.:( So we showed the boys Star Tours, Muppet Show, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid (for the granddaughter) and had a Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine for 5pm. The food at HV was pretty good for a buffet. Again the little guy was happy with the shrimp. After dinner the temperature had dropped again. Lucky for us we had left our winter coats in the car when we had pulled into MCO and we had driven to MGM! Yea@:hyper: So our wonderful Poppy ran to the car with the big guy to get our coats while the little guys and I poked around the stores. We met at the the gas station entrance around 6:15. With the cheerleaders in town and two shows schedualed, I thought that the show would be really crowded, but three whole sections were empty! As the temperatures continued to dip we were really happy to have our northern winter coats! We loaned the jackets we had been wearing to some poor souls who came in short sleeves (BRRRRR) for the duration of the show. I believe the temperatures got down to 40 degrees that night. No swimming for us:( We got back to the room at 8:30 and the kids played at the Arcade at CR. They had a blast. We settled in around 9:30 as Sunday was to be an early day at MK with EE. Another busy day done. The time was going to fast!!!!:(

Great trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.
