February Rates

When discounts do come out, keep in mind that Value Season ends on 2/16/04 at most resorts. So, try to start your trip prior to 2/16. :) Even if you check-in on 2/16, you can often get the Value Season rates even past that day.

I thought value season ended 2/11? I think peak starts on 2/12. We may be doing a quick trip in Feb. as well, my DH is a sports official and we may be going to a tournament in Kissimmee, so he said we could fit a short trip in. I am hoping the dates are in value season. He won't find out the dates until Tuesday. It is fine with me, an extra trip never hurts!

Value season definately ends on February 16, 2005. Peak season starts the 17th.

I just booked POFQ for the dates of 2/15 - 2/21 and got a AAA rate of $107 per night not including tax. I'm hoping a code will come out for those dates. However $107 isn't bad either.

In the past the codes for that time frame have come out after Thanksgiving but maybe this year it will be earlier. We'll see.:scratchin

we went last February - 9-13 and got the Poly for $209 a night plus tax. AP rate.

I didn't like that time of year - the weather wasn't to my liking. Too cloudly and cool for me.

We went last year feb. 7-13 and we loved the weather. We live in Boston and it was soooo cold! It was in the high 60's. It was perfect for us New Englanders. we will be returning this upcoming Feb as well.

My DW and I have been in February for the past two years and are planning to go back this year Jan 31 - Feb 4. The first year, the weather was perfect! Last year, the weather was good for the first 4 days and then it turned COLD! It must have been a very bad cold front that came through, because the locals were all talking about how odd it was. The sweaters quickly left the racks all over the parks. We ended up huddled under rain coats to block the wind at the bus stop!

Here's the proof! WERE COLD!

The lack of crowds is what keeps bringing me back in February. We have a picture of us in front of the boat ramp from TW to WS at Epcot taken by the only other person around at about 1PM!! I think the longest we had to wait for anything last year was 15 minutes.

AHHH!! I question I can answer!! I go each February and the AP and Florida Resident rates came out on December 4th last year. I marked it in my steno book that I keep here in the office.

Rates were rumored from the mid November point, but you couldn't use the codes till they offically came out on Dec 4th!

Hey Camliner!! I think that I am going the same days this year...Jan 29th - Feb 4th!!! Where are you staying?? I will most likely go back to the WL unless some amazing deals come through for the Poly.

Currently we have reservations at the AKL... We are cheating on the WL also this year. WL is by far my favorite resort, but we thought we would try something new this time. :earsboy:

I like anything warmer than New England in Jan-Feb. And I'm from Maine, where swimmin' weather is any time the pond ain't frozen. Anything in the 60s is fine by me at that time of year, tho I might change out of shorts if it got much lower.

Yes, if you see a really pale family swimming when its cold you will know that it's us. We will be at the WL unless the Poly gives a great discount. Great minds think a like pumpkinboy!

We will be at the VWL Feb 4 - 12 ( our 1st time staying at the WL). Does any one remember what the AP discount was for a 1 bedroom villa last Feb? Right now we are booked with a AAA discount, but I sure would like a better AP rate!

WANNABE@WDW:
Do they usually give out AP rates for the DVC resorts? I was under the impression that they usually don't have discounts for the Villas. Maybe I'm wrong?:scratchin
Anyone know the answer to this?
Thanks

I stand corrected, I was looking at 2004, duh! I am hoping my DH's tournament falls in the value season, this gives me a few extra days!

I have seen many post with discounts on DVC villas, I just couldn't remember prices. The only rooms that aren't discounted are suites on WDW property.

We will be at Poly Conceriege from Feb 11th- Feb 19th. This will be our third time going to WDW during February and we love how the weather is warmer than Northeast ~snow~ and how much the parks are empty right before Presidents Week.
We would love to get a great AP rate.. always make trip more magical to save money.
Sprinkling PIXIE dust so we all have a great trip , great weather and great discounted rates!

Yeah, we're all really pale too, but then again we're all redheads (except DW who is pretty light too). If it's 60 or above, I won't be able to keep DD (with Maine blood on both sides) out of the pool - "Honey, come out of there, you're turning blue!" Now the low 50s and we might put our foot down.

And Nicole, another good way to discount it is to rent DVC points to stay at a "Home-away-from-home" resort, which can be very, especially for weeknight stays. In the pre-February break time period you were thinking of, the points costs are fairly low and availability is pretty good. And if you really want to swim, you should head down to Disney's Vero Beach Resort, which in our experience in January was about 10 degrees warmer than Orlando, despite the short ~100 mile distance. They have good discounts there in the pre-February school vacation time too.
Good luck!
