We are planning a vacation for early 2015. We will be traveling with our 3 kids (7,4, and 5 months). We are deciding between the first week of February or last. Any tips, opinions, experiences are appreciated! Thank you!

First week will be less busy. Last week will be warmer. We went first week this year and it was very nice, we only had 3 days that were cold and rainy (and luckily for us two of those were our travel days so only one cold/rainy park day) but it really is luck of the draw. We had 80s and we had 60s all within the same week.

We've only ever travelled in Jan or Feb each time (farm family from the NW, so it's the only time we can), so granted, I don't have anything to compare to. But we enjoy it at that time. It is a bit "risky" if you're hoping for nice, warm weather, as it can be chilly in the evenings (pants and sweatshirts can even be lacking on some nights), and even some days can be breezy and cool (definitely not swimming days). But depending on what kind of weather you're coming from, it can be awesome. For us, it's always quite wamr and "tropical" compared to home. (though we have had one vacation where the night temps dropped LOWER in FL than our icy-cold Idaho winter back home!) Also, there are advantages to the cooler and often rainer weather- shorter lines, less crowds, and sometimes practically private water parks and pools! We do tend to see big groups (like cheerleaders) each time we are there, but that's not an issue (until they are all in a group clogging up walkways or allowing friends to keep cutting in lines ;) ). We've been there over Marathon weekend too and only found that to be busier for the day of.

We're going at the beginning of February with kids ages 5, nearly 3, and 5 months too. Haven't been during that time, but we have been in December and August. The last time we went in December 2009, we had everything from one day where it absolutely poured all day and was quite cold (we were bundled up in hats and scarves) to another day where it was in the 80s, hot and sunny. And that was all in a span of 7 days. I'll be expecting the same kind of ranges in Feb. Makes it hard to pack, especially with little ones, but that's what we get for choosing a less busy time of year.

We went in Feb. for a week and were in shorts except for the last day when we wore long pants and hoodies because it had gotten chilly.
