February No Buy ~ 2014

Stay safe!! Can you at least get out if you need to?

Another no buy day for me today. 2 kids home sick. I think DS12 has pink eye so we are headed to the dr tomorrow if I can get an appt. I won't count that visit or a script because I have a flexible spending account.

We decided to leave. Just too cold with it getting below 20F at night for our toddler. Hope your kids feel better!

I'm glad you guys decided to go somewhere warm. I hope you get power back soon. Did you turn the water off in the house before you left? I can only imagine that people are battling busted pipes with all this craziness,

Kids are ok. DS12 does have pink eye, dr gave me a script. But while I was at the dr with him, the HS called because DS17 had a fever and stomach ache. He is miserable. DD7 has a bad cold and tummy ache but it looks like DS13 has come out the the least affected, he just had a fever and headache for 2 days.
But at least we got it now, before our trip to FL.

Forgive me Budget Disboarders, but I have spent. I fell off the wagon yesterday :sad2:

Sunday - $0
Monday - $0
Tuesday - $0
Wednesday - $0
Thursday - $0
Friday - $12.56 McDonald's Dinner - I was spent after a bad week at work and just couldn't bring myself to make dinner + $1 a stupid spend that's too hard to explain
Saturday -

(I prefer extreme denial for one week a month instead of trying to deny myself all month long. No buy for me = non-bill, non-gas, non-grocery spending. I have separate budgets for those that I have gotten as tight as I can over the years - so while I keep to those budgetted amounts, I don't list those purchases here.)

I'm in!!! Starting the month off not too well, but have to take care of me teeth! I'm not going to set an amount of no buys, just try for as many as I can.

Power back finally... Been a wild week. My credit card statement closes today. Did really well last month so we booked our hotel for June. We also contributed to our IRAs. Looking to keep it going. Hope your kids feel better, Bianca!

Haven't been on in a few days....Sorry you were without power. But, now glad you got it back. We lost power a couple years ago for 10 days due to an October storm. Wasn't fun.

02/01: $20.00 for 2 Pasta dinner fundraiser tickets (applying to Eat Out). Also spent $10.00 for raffle tickets and $72.00 for silent auction items won at the same fundraiser(applying to Misc). We won 2 Alex and Ani bracelets, 3 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of beer, 5 gift certificates for area restaurants (total value $120.00), and a weekend getaway to a local hotel that has an indoor pool. We did really well.
02/02: $6.00 newspapers (apply to groceries)
02/03: -0-
02/04: $28.00 a few extras to be prepared for the storm.
02/05: -0-
02/06: -0-
02/07: -0- It's just been to cold to do anything but go to work and come right home.
02/08: $50.00 gas
02/09: $73.00 groceries
We are now a Family of 4 adults w/1 dog...
Groceries/Household spending: $107/$250.00
Gas for 1 van: $50/$250
Eat Out: $20/$100
Misc: $82/$250
No Buy Days: 4/15
Coupon Savings: $66
Total Coupon savings for 2014:$71.00. I'm going to try the envelope system for my coupon savings
Starting another envelope for any money not spent from my expected grocery budget. $60.00

Finishing out the week with another $0. Made up for my fall off the wagon on Friday by economizing in other areas, so I am still moving my entire $70 allowance for the week to savings.

Sunday - $0
Monday - $0
Tuesday - $0
Wednesday - $0
Thursday - $0
Friday - $12.56 McDonald's Dinner - I was spent after a bad week at work and just couldn't bring myself to make dinner + $1 a stupid spend that's too hard to explain
Saturday - $0

Now for the rest of the month, I just have to stick to my $70 budget each week. I am pretty good at that usually, so I didn't post those weeks last month, but maybe I will this month. Eating out is still a challenge for me. For the last month I cut it out almost completely - until Friday night that is - and I'd like to keep that up. So it might be good to post to keep me accountable in that regard...

Friday I worked.

Yesterday I ran errands all day and then went out for my birthday with some good friends.

Today I am relaxing.
