We are planning to go to Disneyland for three days out of a week and a little traveling from family in San Diego to family in San Francisco. We were last at Disneyland while Carsland was being built. We will be doing three day park hoppers and staying off site. Ideally we want to travel north from San Diego as car rentals are cheaper.

My question is which three days should we do Disneyland? I know that hours are different during the week v weekend in the winter as well as entertainment. I had hoped to fly from the east coast Thursday after school, but my daughter does not wish to miss Friday as they usually schedule before break tests. She would rather extend vacation into the following week. The original plan would have put us at Disneyland on Sunday night. Now we are looking at Monday night at the earliest. The best days would be Tuesday-Thursday, but I am assuming we would not see fireworks or Fantasmic then. We might be able to push Disneyland to Wednesday-Friday, but that would limit our time in San Francisco.

Would you recommend Presidents' Day- Wednesday, Tuesday-Thursday, or Wednesday-Friday? We were also planning on doing two travel days between LA and San Francisco to see Hollywood, stay with family in Santa Barbara and drive up the PCH. Do you think it would work for us to move the Hollywood day to Wednesday or Thursday so that when we leave Saturday morning we head straight up the Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco? Or I would welcome a different suggestion as I have been redoing the plan many times.

Are you thinking of arriving on President's Day Monday (Feb 15, 2016)? I ask because in the past, they have presented fireworks and F! on President's Day Monday. Otherwise, you are correct in that DLR normally does not present fireworks, F!, or Mad T Party on Mon through Thu evenings. WoC is typically presented nightly. We do not yet know what Paint the Night's (the parade) schedule will be during the non-peak season. So it really comes down to how much you'd like to see Disneyland Forever (fireworks) and Fantasmic!. I enjoy the nighttime shows, so I would try to slot a weekend night (or President's Day) into the trip.
