February 7th pin meet in Atlanta - UPDATED

Our next pin meet in the Atlanta area is on February 7th. Meet in the Discover Mills food court in front of Johnny Rockets. 1:30p.

I would love to join Y'all at Discover Mills. I will most likely be bringing 2 friends that are visiting from Tokyo. One of the girls works for Tokyo DisneySea. I will tell them to bring some pins if they want to trade. They are going to be at WDW from the 19-29th and then they are coming to stay with me for 2 weeks. I know they were planing on trading while at WDW, but I'll see if they can save some pins for this event.

Sorry, I have been absent from these boards for so long now, but life has been crazy. I did go to Disneyland for the first time ever in November. We were only there for 1 day, but it was their first day of X-mas Decorations/shows. It was a perfect day, and we got to see almost all of the park. The one thing I noticed was the lack of trading that I saw at DL. I had on a lanyard with lots of good pins and no one to trade with. We spent a couple of days in town, so we went to Downtown Disney a lot, and still no one out trading. I know there was an event one night, but it was at California Adventure and we were in DL. With only one day, I didnt want to leave DL to trade, so I missed my only real chance of trading.

I live in Atlanta and would love to bring my daughter, where exactly is Discover Mills??? She is just beginning and has far more enthusiasm than pins, but she would love it.

Take 85N to exit 108 (Sugarloaf Parkway). You'll want to go East toward the mall (you can see it from the highway). The food court is centered on the mall, though the entrances are not.

Hope to see you guys there! We do, btw, have a kids trading book. Just for kids 12 and under.

Wow! We had a fantastic turn out! We had 21 people to participate in our pin swap, including the two traders Mel brought with her from Japan. We had several new kid traders come by, good thing I brought the kid book! Unfortunately when we got there, the mall was doing some sort of kid show in the area we normally were. We did move to the other end of the food court and established ourselves there. I "found" as many people as i was aware were coming, I hope no one was lost!


It looked like A LOT of trading was going on. We had some folk we haven't seen in a while come back too. If you have a suggestion for a good location for the next meet, please let me know. If we keep having this type of turn-out, the subway in Marietta will be too small (though we thank Doug for letting us use it). Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and was too busy socializing to have remembered it anyway. Supposedly Mel took a couple of pictures, so we'll have to see what she comes up with.

Next pin meet was originally thought to be April 10th, but the 11th is Easter. We may have to postpone it until May.

Hi All,
I just wanted to thank all who put on the meet in Atlanta today. I brought my daughter Emily and she can hardly go to sleep tonight from the excitement. She is new to pin collecting and trading and had just 12 pins, but traded 9 or 10 times and left with a couple extra pins as well. If she wasn't hooked before, she is now.

It was good to see everyone - I think this is the biggest group we've had so far and I believe everyone had a good time - saw lots of old friends and new ones too. The Valentine pin swap was a big success and a lot of fun - thanks, Ashley!! To anyone who missed this meet, hope to see you next time.

Hi! I just wanted to thank everyone for showing me and my daughter "the ropes" with the pin trading. We had never been before and we both had a great time. My daughter Rachael is still wearing her new Tinker Bell lanyard and has put all her new pins on it.

I just want to say thanks again to everyone for the good trading experience. We really enjoyed ourselves. It's nice to be able to trade as a hobby and not deal with the sharks.
