David and I were married December 28th, 2002 and waited til this time to take a nice long 'honeymoon' trip!!
We just got back yesterday and had the time of our lives, this was our 3rd time to the world in 2 years and by far the best!!!
Let me start off by saying we always go into trips ANYWHERE with no expectations, because we don't want to be disappointed, and then when magical things do happen, if at all, its even more magical.
Here is a hopefully brief
overview of our trip:
Arrived in Orlando via NWA from Minneapolis around 11:00 am on the 7th. Got our luggage, and headed to Alamo to pick up our car. With our proof of insurance and our confirmation from Alamo, we received (WITH NO HASSLE) our car for 16 days for $330.34 (with help from Mousesavers.com). This was wonderful as there was no questions regarding insurance whatsoever, since we brought proof with us!!
We stopped by Downtown Disney to activate our AP's (no line) and we were at ASMu by 1:30, the only thing that occurred that was strange was when getting our room keys, he said that he would let us know how much we owed.....we had paid it off in November..and thank God we had all of the confirmation letters in the order that they were received to prove it. He questioned our rate for the time we were there. All of our confirmations had us paying the rate (with codes) of $49.00 a night. However, we gave him the confirmations, he brought them to his manager and everything was worked out - in our favor - Yippee!!
It's great - paying less than $1000.00 for 15 nights in a hotel that we didn't plan on spending to much time in.
It turned out to be a pretty rainy weekend, but did do Animal Kingdom on Sat AM, went to Sea World to activate our Sea World/Busch Gardens Silver Passport- the rest of Saturday and Sunday was spent checking out the malls, and just driving around.
***There were cheerleaders the first several days, however, the ones we saw were very well behaved and not at all unrespectful to us****
We went to multiple parks on multiple days, so I will just include some of our highlights in each park:
MGM -
- We got to be Xtra's in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular (Very Cool),
- lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-In (Good)
- lunch at 50's Prime Time Cafe (Very Good)
- Both of us got to be in the Fastest Finger Row for Millionaire
- Saw Movie Stars in Motor Cars Parade (our 1st Time), met one of the professional photographers "Craig" waiting for the Parade to start, and he was great!! He took several pictures for us with our cameras in front of the hat and just waiting for the parade!!
- Pulled the umbrella and got doused with water - FUN!!
- Had honeymoon t-shirts made.

- Enjoyed a wonderful Illuminations Cruise planned by Tammy (met on these boards) and her husband Chris (a wonderful couple)
- WALKED ON Test Track - first ride of the day - no line!!!!!!!!
- Did the "Behind the Seeds" Tour of 'The Land'

- Overheard one of the most memorable trip quotes by a mother yelling at her son "We will look at the animals when we are done with the park"
- Talked to the Blue Hyancinth Macaws ALOT - we love Birds!!
- Breakfastasurous (Awesome Buffet)
MAGIC KINGDOM -
- BUSY, BUSY, BUSY, The morning we spent there were great, however, anyday past 11:00 am - CRAZY!!!
- E-Ride night on Feb. 18th was the most unorganized disappointing E-Ride night we had experienced. The park closed at 8:00 - and E-Ride night went til 11:00, however there were SO MANY people in the park without wristbands trying to get on rides, standing in line, not understanding that they weren't allowed. People fighting to see the characters. CM's were trying their hardest to explain this to people and they just didn't get it. We ended up leaving around 10:15 because it was still as busy as ever. We stopped by guest relations not really to complain -but to let them know what was happening around the rides, food areas, characters, etc...
CHARACTERS -
- We saw, met, had pictures with more characters than I can remember, I have never seen soooo many characters in the parks just walking around greeting people, etc.. It was great.
RESORTS -
- Rented Watermice
- Went Horseback Riding
- 3 FABULOUS meals at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL
We also during our time did multiple trips to Sea World and Busch Gardens. Went to Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island Animal Reserve.
It was a wonderful wonderful trip!! We plan on going back next year for a week.
