February 7, 2009 Western early check in!

Seattlegirl,

We are not far apart. We are in rooms 2098 and 2100. :thumbsup2 I like being down on the lower decks...

I really liked the lower deck. It was nice being right below the restaurants and things. We did check for SPH, but they were booked. Actually, a lot of rooms were booked from what I could tell while we were going through it with the lady at the booking desk. I was hoping to miss out on some of the kids' spring breaks with this week, but I guess we'll see!

I'm surprised that there are already a lot of bookings for this cruise. I figured it was sort of an off time. Plus there is still such a long time to go.

Maybe if the ship continues to fill up the "cheaper" categories we'll all get lucky and receive upgrades! We can wish right? ;)

SOOOO close to being able to say "only a year until my cruise!"

Is anyone doing anything special for countdowns? We will once we surprise the kids at Christmas. We'll probably do some kind of countdown calendar that the kids can do every day.

Oh, yesterday my MIL slipped up and said something about the cruise in front of the kids! Doh! Thank goodness we were able to cover up what she'd said by telling the kids she was talking about a cruise she'd taken years ago. It was our first close call though!

Who's excited?

Today is our 1 year mark!!! Exactly one year from now we'll all be gearing up to board the Magic!

Bumping in case anyone is lurking and wants to join us!

I wonder how the current Western is going right now. We'll be on that cruise next year!!!!

First off forgive me, I'm not familiar with chatting so I'm just getting used to the acronyms. We finally just got internet service. Anyway, our family has just booked for this cruise. There will be 12 of us including my 2 kids, son 9, and daughter 6. What a great idea for kids to get to know some of the kids that will be there before they even leave home!!

welcome wdw dreamer. is this your first cruise with dcl?

Welcome! My oldest son will be 9 at cruise time too.

Tinker, you only have a little over 2 months before cruising! How exciting for you!

12? Wow! We're desperately trying to convince my dad or my mom and stepdad to join us on the cruise, but so far, no luck. I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Yes, this our first cruise. Everyone is very excited! Unfortunately, I now have mixed feelings as I've suddenly become a TA to the whole group. Not sure exactly how it happened. My husband and I mentioned that we were planning a cruise with the kids and next thing I know we're booking rooms for my parents, my grandparents, my MIL, my sis and friend, and my uncle!!!! I know it will be great fun, but feeling a little overwhelmed with the planning.

I can imagine being a travel agent for 12 people is quite exhausting! :) It will all work out eventually. Just ask your family to repay you in the form of Disney dollars! LOL

I have planned our trip all by myself too. Granted it's only for my family (me, dh and 3 boys) and my inlaws. In fact my MIL (she's a dingbat, but in a good way lol ;) ) was telling me over the weekend that they had told my FILs mother about the trip and to make sure she didn't say anything to the boys about it. Well, my FILs mother said "So where are you going?" My MIL said she laughed and told her she had no idea! LOL "I trust Amanda and I know she'll take us somewhere great!" :)

So basically it comes down to... they're spending several thousand dollars on a surprise trip to "somewhere." I had to laugh. I am SOOOOO not like that. I need to know all of the details WAAAAAAYYYY in advance!

So it turns out that planning for 12 people is indeed some work. Especially when 12 is turning into 15! But that's not the big one....we've changed dates. Yep, you heard right. Luckily we didn't have any price increases and there was availability for everyone. Good news is we switched to January 24 making the countdown less!

So, it's been a pleasure chatting with everyone, but I won't be sailing on the 7th afterall. Hope you all have a great trip!

Good luck WDW Dreamer!

Our group is shrinking! Doh! ;)

Where are all the people who are booking onboard in the month of February? Aren't they supposed to LOVE February so much that they rebook for 2009? LOL :)

We couldn't stand it, got off the ship Saturday the 16th and booked 2/7/09 on Tuesday of this week!

Welcome allears! How was your cruise? Did you do any excursions?

March is sneaking up quickly. Pretty soon we'll be completely out of the month of February of 2008! That means the next time we see a February date we'll be prepping for much warmer weather! Woohoo!
