February 4th, 2012 MAGIC 7 night Western cruise

Hey Guys!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE WONDERFUL FE GIFTS!!!!! Doing the FE was a great and very magical. My kids had a blast every day seeing what we got. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who didn't get a chance to meet everyone :( I thought I was prepared for this trip but was soooo overwhelmed once we got on the ship. The kids wanted to go this way, and my husband and I wanted to go this way. I had to buy a wrist watch so I knew what time is was during the course of the vacation because I rely to much on my cell phone. Once I got a text from Verizon that I was going to be charged $22.99 a minute all our phones went off and off to the gift shop to buy a Mickey Mouse watch. We had a great time on the cruise except some of the weather mother nature dealt us could've been better but I was happy that we made it to all the ports of call. I saw so many say they didn't get to Cast Away Cay or Grand Cayman due to the water conditions so I was grateful that we did make it to them all. Our excursions were great- Wish we had more time at the ports to see more. Our servers Bradford and Jimi were terrific. I was so sad Saturday night when we got home that we wouldn't be served by them again or have our bed pulled down with a towel animal and chocolates!! Me and the kids went to the towel animal class and that was fun. I'm going to surprise them with one. My husband got sick the first night but thank goodness he recovered the next day!!! This was his first cruise and though he is an avid fisherman he said the feeling of being enclosed is what got him! Yeah we entered the crab races but Crabby Patty was not up to the task-LOL!! We were second in all 4 heats-oh well. The kids got a nice calender for particapting. We didn't book a cruise for next time- My in-laws want to go on an Alaskan Cruise next summer and we invited ourselves. I've been dealt the responsibility in booking it but the Disney Prices are crazy high!!! I'll see what kind of deal I can find- If not may have to wait til 2014. We will see...... plus after getting my bill from excursions, souviners, bingo 1 night, spa and gratituties the last thing I needed was an additional cost of a deposit for 6 of us! Ugh!!!LOL!!!! We enjoyed the shows and Loved, Loved, Loved John Charles. We went to the adult show the one night and laughed our butts off- He was great and so talented!! We could've watched him every night! Oh how sad its all over- going through Disney Cruise withdrawals..........

PS-The Allentown Airport and Air Tran were great- No hassles or worries!!!

I was at his adult show too! I was the one he yodelled at... lol :rotfl2:

We went to the adult show - my husband asked for Phantom of the Opera. He was hysterical - I swear I almost peed myself! :rotfl2:

We also did the margarita & tequila tasting. It was awesome - I'm not much of a tequila fan but as they say, when in Rome . . . :rotfl:

Did anyone do the tour in Cozumel? Our tour guide was amazing. I loved the passion he expressed for his heritage & country. I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped at the place where tequila was made - is it a distillery? :confused3. Anyway, we bought 6 bottles of tequila!!!! I wish I could invite you all over to share :woohoo:

Hi everyone! I too wanted to say thanks for the fish extender gifts - they were so creative. We came home to an empty refrigerator and I'm wondering why I don't have food at my beck and call anymore??? You mean I have to buy groceries, cook, and serve it myself? To me that is the biggest dose of reality once off the ship. I don't realize how much we are catered to until we aren't anymore.

Ricky and I had a good cruise but spent time worrying since my Dad called me in Key West to tell me my cat hadn't eaten for over a day and was acting very sluggish. She ended up having an infection. She is 15 years old and went through treatment for cancer last year so I was very scared she would die once my dad told me she was sick. But he and my vet took great care of her and she is doing much better now. I ended up paying for internet onboard and broke down and used my cell phone in Mexico to check on her. I'm hoping that bill isn't too crazy!

We didn't make it to any of the tastings, but we went to the first two Art of Entertaining shows with Chef Thomas. They were fun and we would have made the dessert one but we had brunch reservations at Palo. I played Bingo a few times. The final jackpot was over $4,000 and one person won. I would have immediately gone to the cruise booking desk had I won that! We went to the four adult drawing classes and learned how to draw Mickey, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy.

Hope everyone is having an easy transition back to the real world!

First--thanks for all the fun goodies. Bob didn't quite understand until we started getting the goodies! I'll be looking at them again this afternoon when I unpack.

We enjoyed the meet up and though we didn't see many of you around the ship, getting to know Dave and Jane--well, all I can say is if anyone is ever on a cruise with them and they say "let's go to the scavenger hunt--do it!

Roxy-did you do the FIRST tequila tasting? If so, I was the Tequila Queen!!! We met one of our table mates and he'd been at that tasting! I didn't live it down for the ENTIRE week! We spent WAY too much on extras! I would recommend the couples massage on the beach! Way cool, however, beware of the products they are trying to sell. We got suckered in to about $300 worth! If they work, great! If not, I'll let y'all know.

We got home about 3:30 this morning! Yes, that is AM. We spent a couple of days at AKL (kinda cold on Sunday!) and then we flew out on Monday afternoon. We were 5 minutes from our plane landing in Lincoln and the pilot pulled off and said that we could not land because of fog. He tried again and then headed to Omaha to land! United was TOTALLY unprepared for the emergency. It took almost 3 hours to get us a bus to drive us to Lincoln. Gotta love to fly!

We got back Monday (to snow) and we're finally settling back into our routine. The laundry is done! :laundy:

Thank you thank you thank you for the wonderful FE gifts! Our girls just loved going back to the room to check their pockets! You are all so creative. This was our first Disney cruise so I had no idea what to expect. I'm going to remember your great ideas for next time!

So back to work and the hustle and bustle of everyday life :sad2:
I just wanted to say how grateful and appreciative I am for all of the FE gifts, all of your tips and info! It was great meeting you all and we hope that you had a fabulous vacation.
We were overwhelmed by your generosity and creativity as this was our first FE but you gave us so many ideas for our next one. Yep, that's right, we also booked our future cruise and reserved for our friends as well.
Take care and hope your future adventures continue to be full of magical memories

Hello everyone -

I wanted to thank you all for the lovely FE gifts. We really enjoyed all of the surprises. It made out trip!

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience during our cruise. Our daughter contracted head lice while we were at sea. We believe it came from the Kids Lab. Our family required daily medical attention and we were told by the health clinic that our room was infested. (They removed all of our belongings to steam clean and issued us detergent to wash other items) We required medical treatment when we returned home and have considerable out of pocket expense to take care of the situation.

Anyway, we are working with the claim department and we're trying to track down other families that were affected. If you experienced the head lice or heard of other involved, can you please send me a private message? We were told other were impacted but don't know the full scope.

From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate any help. Thank you.

OH NO! :scared1:
I'm so sorry that happened to you  We didn't hear of anything and therefore not affected. Please, Please, Please PM me your address so I can send you & the kids some goodies. I always make extra and I have made a few things for our up coming cruise in October. Hope you are able to recoup any losses that you incurred - sincerely  :goodvibes

Thank you for the offer. You are very sweet and I appreciate your kind words. We are good. All of the FE gifts truly made our trip and for that I am sincerely grateful. It was a long week and we are putting it behind us. I am just looking for others that were affected. We know there were families before us and after us that were affected. Unfortunately, the crew on the ship and the staff that I'm working with now are in two separate entities so communication between the two has been difficult.

Did your cruise insurance cover this? We are wondering for our upcoming trip.

We're still in the process of working with them. We released our medical files and are still gathering receipts for our expenses. The prescription alone was $500.xx out of pocket for us.

We'd like to think it was a fluke but the clinic nurse told us she regularly uses Nix as a precaution with the amount of cases she sees. I don't know if that's limited to the ship or where else she works. I would have much rather seen all of that money go to excursions :)

As a courtesy to a poster on the main cruise board, I'm posting a link to a thread that was started there. A gentleman proposed to his now Fiancee and several other cruisers snapped pictures on their behalf. They are now hoping that some of those people are DIS'rs as they'd love copies of those pics!
