February 4th, 2012 MAGIC 7 night Western cruise

Wow, I'm not online for 2 days and we get 3 more pages of dicussion. Things are really heating up.

My friend is an adult male, he works at Disney World and we are bringing him on the cruise as a thank you for all he gets us when we go on vacation.

Our first/only Disney cruise we met at the promenade lounge at 3:00pm for a a Dis meet. That was nice to get the cruise started. That way we recognized people throughout the cruise from the first day. Also, it's possible for last minute room changes to occur (port upgrades) and our FE list may need to be updated then.

The superbowl will be played in diversions, the promenade lounge, probably the Buena Vista theater, and my favorite; FUNNELVISION!

We are thinking a meet/greet would be good either Saturday around 3 or Sunday sometime for football, but will be good with whatever is decided. Just watched Tebow pull out another OT victory. :) Who will the final two teams be????

We are still unsure what to do in Cozumel. Any suggestions/thoughts?
Key West will be the trolley
Grand Cayman has us going out with Captain Marvin's
Castaway Cay is beach time and see how the day goes

We are still unsure about Cozumel too. I am open to ideas as well!

In Key West we will do the trolley that I will book myself. That way we can hop on and off as needed/wanted.

Grand Cayman we plan to take a cab to Seven Mile Beach and have a beach day.

Castaway Cay we will be hanging out. DH will run the 5K in the morning and he and I will parasail that afternoon. Otherwise we will hang at the beach with DD (7).

Saturday at 3 makes sense, especially if there are cabin changes
Key West - we are also booking the trolley ourselves as we have been there before. As a tip, we did take in the Butterfly Conservatory which was a little pricey but our daughters 10 and 7 really liked it
Cozumel - we booked the Mayan ruins/beach tour through the ship and yes, I know ship excursions are really expensive but I am a little hesitant booking privately in Mexico
Grand Cayman - booked privately to go to Stingray City with Moby Dick tours which got really rave reviews on another cruise online forum
Castaway - should we book anything? Any suggestions? Was looking at the day adventure which included the bike and floater/tube rentals
Thanks in advance... As Goofy says Gawrsh! Sure can't wait!
:yay:

Funnelvision... Lol, love it

Our schedule is similar. Very relaxed.
We are not booking anything in castaway. We are going to get in a good bit of snorkeling.

Might consider the butterflies since you mentioned it.

Oook, what´s funnelvision?

I really don´t know the rules of football. But i´m really excited to be in America while the superbowl. My DH really likes to watch it, if possible with this group :)

We´re doing the following:

Key West: On our own.
Grand Cayman: With Captn Marvins Stingray City (@ClassicPooh2 - which tour did you book, maybe we will be on the same boat :cutie:)
Cozumel: Mayan Ruins & Discover Mexico Cultural Park (culture for me, mexican food for DH and games, pinatas and suprises for DS)
CC: Just having a relaxing day :)

We have booked the Grand Cayman Island Tour, the Mayan Ruins & Discover Mexico Cultural Park, and a couple of Palo meals. I had booked the Stingray Adventure at CC but cancelled it after researching the weather/water temps. We'll play that one by ear.

(We have plans to rebook on the ship for a late summer trip and would probably enjoy the Stingray excursion better at that time.)

We definitely want to watch at least part of the game. My daughter and I are not much into football but we're excited to be a part of the atmosphere and we'll enjoy the commercials.

:goodvibes

We may rent an electric car in Key West and roam around that way. We'd been on the Trolley before (which is great because you can get on and off wherever you want and spend whatever time you want at each place) but thought this might be a fun alternative.

The girls would really like to parasail. Has anyone done that in Key West before? I see some companies for that but don't really know one from the other.

In Cozumel, the girls are swimming with dolphins and DH and I are observing. Our DD has done this before but her friend has not. I know there are all sorts of issues around animal treatment and so forth but we've done this twice and both places seemed to care for the animals very well. Flame away if you need to. :)

We're doing a city tour in Grand Cayman - at least that's what's scheduled right now. And we're relaxing on CC.

Someone asked my DD what her favorite part of Disney cruising is. She went on and on about how she and I did origami during our last two cruises and how much fun it is to be together as a family and just relax. I need to remember that we don't have to do absolutely everything for this to be a great memory for our daughter. We're just blessed to be able to do this - together.

So, remember, whatever you do, it's all good. :thumbsup2

Yes. We are planning a 6 person electric car. Should be fun. Parking can be tricky I understand, but it will allow us to get to places the trolley does not go.

Yes!!! I forgot that the commercials are almost as good as the game itself!

Well I may have missed the chance but we have 13 people 4 cabins going Feb 4-11 wondering if we can get into the fish extender exchange. Some have cruised but never Disney and never the kids !!

Hey - just wanted to see if Mom22Divas wanted to still be part of the FE group as would like to add to my list. Can we get room breakdown as to whom and what ages are in each room. Just finishing shopping and do not want to miss anyone.
Thanks and can not believe it is coming so quick!

I hope Mom22Divas is still interested. We'd love to add her group to our list, too.
:thumbsup2

Greetings to our fellow cruisers ... my husband left open this thread ... hadn't read any of it before! (yes, he is my Mr. Incredible ... he has it planned - even Palo's - and I just show up!)

If it is not too late, we would like to get in on the FE ... the two of us, a nine-year old girl, and a two year old girl. We are in room 6502 unless pixie dust comes our way! :flower3:

(I hope our library doesn't charge me for the Disney Cruise PassPorter's Field Guide ... I've renewed it to the max, and the edges are thumbed to death, and we still have a little over three weeks to go!)

We'll be doing the 10-1 Captain Marvin trip. Sounds like a fine time! I'm glad someone else is trying it.

We are considering the Cozumel City Highlights tour from cozumelcruiseexcursions.com Anyone know anything about this company?

Greetings!

You are still welcome to join in the FE exchange but when you join after the deadline, please know that some people have finished their shopping or making their gifts so you may not receive everything. Those of us with extras will certainly include you.

Knowing this, would you still like to be a part of the exchange? I hope so...just let us know.

Just another reminder for Mom22Divas to send me room and passenger information so they will be included on the delivery map! Please check your private messages if you don't want to post the info!

Participants are listed in a previous message, which may end up including a few more people who want to join and realize the some of you have already finished planning and won't be able to include them.

Stateroom breakdown will come with the delivery map.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

See you soon,

Sharon

We decided not to plan to much and decide as we go along.

Key West, my DH wants to visit Hemingway's home, I love and want to visit the light house and we always do Hard Rock and can't miss Margaritaville. Does anyone know, can we walk to these places from the port or do we need transportation? Than we have to make sure we're back on the ship before the game begins. Will Disney put together a superbowl buffet for the game, a couple of years ago we were on the Royal Caribbean during the Superbowl and they put together a buffet, just wondering.

Grand Cayman we are signed up to do the ship's trip to Stingray City and swim with the Stingrays. My DH and DS did this several years ago when visiting the island and they kept having to cancel due to the weather, the last day they finally got to go on the swim, our friends never got to do it since they left before we did. Would it be better to book this trip on our own or do the ship's trip? I'm always afraid of not getting back to the ship in time and getting left behind that's why we're doing the ship's trip.

Cozumel, I wanted to do the dolphins swim but no one else was for it, they said it was to expensive, so we don't have anything planned at this time. I need to start researching what we should do for the day at Cozumel.

Castaway Cay, is just going to be a beach day. I'm hoping the weather will be nice and warm. The weather in the Bahamas can go either way this time of year cold or warm.

I'm really looking forward to this trip, not much longer now. Can't wait.

I agree let's meet on Saturday before the safety drill and again at the end of the trip. That way we can meet everyone before the trip begins and again at the end of the trip to say our farewells.

Once again, does anyone pre-order any items before leaving home or do you just wait to get onboard. Thinking about the smallest photo package and the beer mug for DH. Thanks.
