February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Too Funny!!!!! Now that truly would be a Kodak Moment!!!!

I have to tell you..I like your thinking:thumbsup2 ....
We are going to get along just fine LOL!!!!

  I'm sure we will too!

Meeting all you guys will make this vacation even better!

hope your all up for meeting me, I'm only 20 and I am pretty crazy, so watch out and if you hear me talking about basketball run away fast, or just get me some chicken fingers to shut me up:lmao:

You two are going to keep all the poultry farmers in business! :lmao: Turkey legs and chicken fingers, mmm. Do they have chicken wings on board? If so, I'm there!!!:thumbsup2

John

I think I've heard they have chicken wings on board somewhere, I've never really asked or looked though

John

Oh John- We are going to get along just great...... They do have chicken wings on board. They are outside the bar at about 11:00-Midnight..... They even have blue cheese and ranch....... It is one of my quiet little secrets. SHHHHHH :ssst: They will have shrimp, cheese and egg rolls too.... :thumbsup2 See most people will go into the bar and not realize they set that up while they are in there.... I did not realize it until cruise #2 when I went to the potty. I came back and told DH, "they have wings....":thumbsup2

So right after Johnna does her Gloria Gaynor act, you and I can sneek out for chicken wings...:lmao:

Yeah, I am really surprised that they would board guest with the pool looking like that..looks like the water must have sat in there during the whole dry docking:confused3

I was hoping for some stateroom refreshing....last March our vanity stool was so soiled that I put a towel over it before I sat on it, and the carpet in our stateroom I felt was the biggie that needed addressed, it was worn and also coming up around the edges:confused3 ..

I must admit however that our bed was comfortable...maybe it wasn't so much that it was overly comfortable as it was that we were just overly tired each night that when we finally got to bed, that it felt good just to lay down LOL!!!!

But seriously...I don't want any of you first time cruisers to worry...it REALLY is an awesome Cruise and a Beautiful Ship!!!!
If it wasn't...they wouldn't have so many return cruisers..including the EJKJ Family:thumbsup2 and trust me..I am VERY picky on where we stay when we vacation:snooty: ;)

Yes I agree it is a beautiful ship. I am with yoy BJ in hoping that they would just do some minor up0-grades that were not listed. On our last cruise I kept telling all of our family; "they are due to go into drydock soon." I have to agree with you about the carpet and the stool. Actaully I think your room was in a wee better shape than ours. I too covered the stool, because it looked as either a toddler had wasted a lot of milk on it or some other people got really creative with some afternoon fun time. My SH wipped it down, but we just kept it covered. We did not have any matress issues though. Now the carpet......:sad2: It was very dirty. Sure failed our white sox test. When the kids took off shoes just before bed, the socks went from white to gray. They were not gray when they put them on. New Socks, New Shoes. Now the cruise prior to that, the white sock test passed with flying colors. SoI do not know what happened in a year???? I was just happy I did not have a crawling baby.

I guess I rather for them to fix the darn engine though than other stuff. Hate to miss our ports again....:goodvibes

The nicks on the furniture, who cares. They were not doing a complete stateroom make over. I think the toliet was just from it sitting not being used for those couple of weeks. Noting a little elbow greece can not fix.;)

The pool........... That was funny BJ the whole NICK reference. See I can even say the word now...... We have actually been looking into Nick since you and I spoke on the phone. I know I told you I want to exsperience the Nick side maybe now too, but do not care to do it on DCL :lmao: :lmao: That will be fixed, just too bad they did not at least drain it prior to the passengers boarding. Guess what; that is almost how the pools looked by the end of our last cruise. We were stuck on the ship soooo many hours that they got just gross. Since they fixed the engines in dry dock, at least this one should be

BJ, sounds as if we have found a partner in Ness........:cool1:

Hi y'all!

Just wanted to tell everyone to check your air fare if you booked with SWA. Our flight from KC to MCo on Friday 2/27 just dropped to $99 OW. It was $139 when we originally booked it. So I am :dance3:

I have been checking our airfare daily for the past couple of weeks. Ours comes in just "slightly" higher than $99 one way. The cheapest I have been able to find is on WestJet, at $444 one way. With taxes and extra fees, the grand total is $4200.00 :scared1: Air Canada comes out to $5500.00 for the cheapest fair available :scared1: :scared1:

So, here is my plan. I am going to carry aboard all of the ingredients for Bushwackers. I will then sell the drinks directly out of my suitcase, for roughly half price. I should make my money back in no time at all ;)

Any takers? :drinking1

Carolyn

Well Carolyn
I am so there with you on trying to recover from the cost of our airfare too!
We are going down Calgary to Orlando on Westjet (direct nonstop)at 557.06 EACH taxes paid....YES that is only one way!!
We are coming back on United at $577.13 EACH taxes paid!:scared1:
So we have dished out 3402.57!!!! JUST FOR AIRFARE!!!
I am hoping that we can do something about a credit file when Westjet puts the flights on sale...eventually.
So we are also facing the baggage fees that united charges in each direction $15.00 for the first bag and $25.00 for the second. Even though we booked through the AC website and booked it as a coshare, united operates the flights and therefore we pay their fees/their rules.
Just when AC removed the baggage fees too!!
Hope you find a great deal, we just did not want to wait. I know that we will end up with a whole ton of schedule changes... but so far nothing too drastic.

Just wanted to say hi. With the Dodgers in the playoff chase that is all I have been following. Thank godness we made it (and thank god for Manny) so we start play on Wed. Vs the Cubs. Also have been bussy the last two days trying to figure out if we should change our minds about DVC. We joined yesterday (sat). So we are the newest members of the DVC family. Very cool.

Congrats on being DVC members. We are considering that as well.

As for the Dodgers, glad you made the postseason (on Manny's back) :rotfl:

Now I am really depressed that my Jays, with a better record than L.A. (86-76 vs 84-78) are a solid 4th place in the AL East. :sad2: I'm ready to tell JP Ricchardi to pack them up, move to Sacramento and switch to the NL. :confused3

Sometimes being in the AL East is a pain...

... but at least the Yankees are in the same boat... and have a MUCH bigger payroll. :rotfl2:

John

Alan, Congrats on being a new DVC Member and "Welcome Home!" :wave2: DH and I have been members since 2002 when BCV opened, have added on points once, and DH is ready to add on again. We  our DVC! Where is your home resort? Our home resort is BCV and we were going to stay there after our cruise but decided to try AKV as I want to stay there before we do another add-on. Besides that we can save a few points to use later next year! :yay:

Carolyn and 3Charbys, I had no idea airfare from Canada was SO expensive!

It might have been on Manny back, but I don't care we are there and that is all that matters. The funny thing about the AL east is that the 38 million payroll beat out the two 200 mllion payrolls. I love Tampa Bay.

My home resort is Anaimal Kingdom. We are starting with 270 points and we get another 270 developer points that expire in one year and are not bankable. I really do not see andding on any points anytime soon as with the extra poins (which I can not bank) I might not even use any of my 270 and can bank them all for 2010. So that would mean I would have 540 points for 2010 and I will not even need that many so I know I am good. of course if there is a great deal to add points I just might. Also I work for SWA so I was glad to hear about the fare change for you and glad we could help out.

Guys do not :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: me over our airline. We are hoping to get our done in October. We are still looking at over 3 gran for ours. I did not check today, but that is what it was on Friday. I am on-line every Wed all day trying to get the hump day deal..... So here is hopes that the Tink family gets a lower fare. We have even thought of driving to Chicago for SWA, but that adds 14 hours (7 each way) to our trip and do not want the kids to have to miss two more days of school. :sad2:

Hi Donna,
Yes our airfares especially from out West or the Maritimes can be ridiculous!! Oh well that is the price we have to pay, there is no way that I would even consider driving!! :sad2: UGH!
I am wondering though how I can convice my DH to look after our little kiddo while I join everyone in the bushwacker club pirate: :drinking1 out there on the deck chairs!!:lmao: Any advice??

We started with 260 points and added on another 60 two years ago. We'll probably add another 60-100 points within the next year. Of course, with all this frenzy over Wall Street, its hard not to worry about the impact it will have on the future of the average American.

I knew you worked for SWA which is a company that I feel is a close second to Disney in customer service. We  SWA!!!!

Yeah - it's called: KIDS CLUB!! Or... if DH does the tequila tasting, or beer tasting, then he won't care if he's on daughter duty.

Our unofficial motto of life, that started on the last cruise, has become: this parenting thing is a lot easier when you're drunk.
