February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

O.K. time to go and defend my home state. According to the sizemoligists we are not dur for a major as wee keep having very frequent minor quakes, that you can't even feel, that keeps the stress off of the faults in the area. Now I like Phoenix, but it gets way to hot in the summer. The rain that comes through there in the summer is like a monsoon. I can live that there might be a major earthquake here and tere could be major dammage, but in reality, how is that different than any other part of the country? Every part of this country has it's own natural disaster that they are know for. So I say pick the one you can live with and enjoy life and have fun.

aan1701,

I have been to L.A. and can attest that the only natural disaster is the traffic.

Time to check in and bump us up on to page 1 in case anyone is looking for us.

Not too much to report from the DC area - just that the Storys are preparing for one of our legendary St. Patrick's Day parties to be held this weekend. :drinking1 Corned Beef, cabbage, shepherd's pie, and my Grandma's Irish Soad bread recipe. Mmmmmm.... We love this holiday!

And Mark is getting his head shaved to support a childhood cancer research organization called St. Baldricks. He's raised over $1300 so far, and is quite proud. And I'm quite proud of him. :lovestruc PM me if you want to support the cause and I'll give you all the details. I guess I should pray for warm weather or stock up on some winter hats for him!

Hope everyone is well - and that we don't befall the same fate as the cruise last week did by having engine trouble and not being able to go to Castaway Cay! There's been some heated discussion on the main board about it. Glad I wasn't there in the mix of it!

Happy Tuesday. Johnna:flower3:

Actually - I just checked Mark's donation site and he's over $1400 with the $1385 on line, and $70 in cash/checks we have at home!! Way to Go Honey!!

We are booked for this cruise too. This will be our 4th cruise on the Magic. (Just came off the eastern last Saturday - the one that missed Castaway and didn't get to St Maartin 'til 3pm).

Still a Disney cruise fan despite it all.

We have three daughters who will be 9, 4 and a week away from 3 at the time of travel.

Sure hope Engine Number Five works this time!

Welcome hhi5. I hope you have better luck the next time too!

Just wanted to say hi.

We just booked. It's moi, DH (AD AF pilot) and DS 13 years. I'm committing the cardinal sin of pulling DS out of school for four days. He'll be in the eigth grade and once he's in high school this probably won't be possible. This will be our fourth cruise, but our first 7-day.

I went back and forth between St Croix and the Western. I hope I made the right choice. We're booked into room 6134, which is one of those Cat 7/6 rooms. Gotta have a balcony.

Heading to Disneyland between now and then for my Disney fix. I can't wait a whole a year.

Welcome hhi5, bestmom, and Olaf! :welcome:

Hope you find us fun! This will be the Story family's 4th cruise, and we're so excited about the special itnerary to St. Croix.

hhi5 - sorry to hear about last week's not-so-perfect trip. We were supposed to be on that trip with other DIS friends, but we postponed to 09. I feel badly for all of you.

Hopefully we'll have better luck next year!

Looking forward to getting to know you all better. :yay:
Johnna

I had to check in to say Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone! :thumbsup2

It's the favorite holiday in the Story house and we had a big party with about 75 people on Saturday night. I think I can safely say a good time was had by all!

Only 347 more days until our Magical cruise!:hourglass

Hi Everyone-
I am subscribing because one of your cruisemates is almost conviencing me to change my sailing to this date. :lovestruc We just got off the March 1st Cruise and I just found out we are now on Spring Break next year at this very time. Maybe it is a little fate. I have not yet read the thread yet, I just wanted to say Hi before reading. Since we rebooked on the ship, we will still get our 10% and $200, if I switch.... So I am off to get to know you a little... We have done the WOnder X2 and the Magic X 2.

My wife and I will be on this one. the first day at sea, 3/1 will be my 34th birthday. It will be our 5th time on DCL and the 4th time on the Magic.

Hi b-day buddy. If we switch to this date, we have to party together. Mine is the day after though. Just celebrated it on the Magic...... Why not do it again?:confused3

Where is Johnna and Mark. We were one of the unlucky cruisers on that ill-fated 3/1/08 Eastern, We did however make the most of it. DW Kim has been itching to book again since we got back. We have until 3/21 to put down our deposit, Kim sent DCL an e-mail to see if we can still qualify for the on-board credit and 10%. This will be #8 on the Magic.
The cast is DW Kim-myself Norm (Also a YANKEES FAN) and DS Joshua 14 at the time we cruise.
Has anyone seen the video of Johnna singing "I will survive" on youtube from last year? OH LORD..
Johnna, Brenda squeeled that you went to see Bon Jovi 2 weeks ago, How was it?

Glad to be back..
Norm

Norm - don't you know the difference between singing and lip synching?? Oh wait, nevermind. I uh, bear NO resemblance to that woman in the video. None at all. Really. That's not me. I was washing my hair that night. In my room. By myself. Really.

Bon Jovi was awesome! We had a great time and hope he comes back to DC sometime soon! We sat behind and to the right of the stage - and it was better than I thought it would be to sit back there.

Now - if "Livin' on a Prayer" is one of the options for family Karaoke night, my 5 yr old daughter and I will be right up there!! Yes - I'm making her a fan already!!:thumbsup2

So glad the shabareks and atinkerbellmom are joining us. And you ARE joining us. Just so you know. ::yes::

Now we need to convince Brenda and Ron since they seem to be on the fence...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!:shamrock:

Brenda and Ron are the ones that told us they had booked on that cruise, they better go. Are you getting your house ready for baseball season, I'm watching the Yankees and Sox in a pre-season game today and of course the Yankees are winning 7-2. It starts already.

Talk soon..

Norm

Well, if ordering the MLB Extra Innings package, AND ordering Hi-Def, AND purchasing a 46 inch Hi-Def Flat screen TV counts as getting ready, then yeah, I guess we're getting ready for baseball season. :thumbsup2

And yes - Brenda and Ron better join us. If you're out there lurking missy, get on the ball and join this thread! :yay:

Sounds Like this house, New 42" LCD with Directv,High Def, It does not get any better than that. Being in Ct. we get YESHD on directv and also NESNHD to watch the Sox lose, so there is no need to order extra innings.

Brenda, Where are you..?

Norm

Ah, watch the Sox lose. Are you aware that they have the perfect Baseball team. I am not a Sox fan, I am a die hard Dodger fan, so this is really an unbiased opinion. They should win it all again (as long as it is not the Yankees and especialy not the San Fransisco Giants I am happy) and should for years to come.
