February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

Thanks to my DW, my DS and I came back from skiing yesterday to a "we're under a year" themed party. There were tropical fish hanging from the ceiling, tropical drinks waiting, decorations all over and we watched our 2005 and 2007 Disney Cruise videos.

Very, very cool.

We're under a year, guys!

That's 2/28/ oh-nine, not 08. Wish it were so. On the East Coast, we don't have that awesome LA weather...

I was talking about the 3/3/07. Sorry my bad. I keep thinking it is '07. I don't know why, I just do, and here in L.A. the weather is not always the greatest but is better than that cold stuff you all get on the east.

Got offered a job way back when at Disney Interactive of all places. DW has no interest in moving to LA. Said something about earthquakes. I said something about sunny and 72 degrees most of the year.

I lost.

She is afraid of a little Earthquake. There has not been a major on here in L.A. in like 15 years. Now of course one could happen at any time  but we just go on with our lives. Now if she was afraid of the L.A. traffic :scared1: that is a good reason. Of course 72 degrees most of the year does help. Living with a threat of an earthquake beats living with snow.

Time to defend myself here. I can handle weather: too cold? Just wear more or heavier clothes. Too warm? Turn on the A/C. Mmmm... how to defend against an earthquake? When someone can answer that question for me, I'm happy to hear it! :goodvibes

And just because there hasn't been a major one in 15 years... doesn't that mean you're due??? :confused3 :confused3

Phoenix is looking more and more attractive to me - no tropical storms or hurricanes, no tornados, and warm or hot weather pretty much all the time. I can handle that. ;)

O.K. time to go and defend my home state. According to the sizemoligists we are not dur for a major as wee keep having very frequent minor quakes, that you can't even feel, that keeps the stress off of the faults in the area. Now I like Phoenix, but it gets way to hot in the summer. The rain that comes through there in the summer is like a monsoon. I can live that there might be a major earthquake here and tere could be major dammage, but in reality, how is that different than any other part of the country? Every part of this country has it's own natural disaster that they are know for. So I say pick the one you can live with and enjoy life and have fun.

Hello Cruisemates :wave2: How's everyone doing?

Hanging in there! Anxiously awaiting to hear from our other DIS friends who are in Castaway Cay as I type this, and will debark the Magic tomorrow morning. I can't wait to hear about their trip. AND to hear that they rebooked for THIS CRUISE next year and will join our meet thread!! :cool1: Keeping my fingers crossed that they love us that much...

I read that they did not make it in due to strong curents, and could not dock the ship. Anyway, I will be doing really good in 357 days, but better in 62 days. :woohoo:

Just read that thread! I hate to say how glad I am that we decided to postpone becuase I feel so badly for all my friends!! They also had trouble docking in St. Maarten because of engine trouble. Man - I would be pretty bitter if I were there...

We might see temps in the 40's later this week!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: Spring is just around the corner!!:woohoo:

I was just thinking the opposite!!! It was 68 degrees here earlier this week, and it's going BACK DOWN to 40 tomorrow - funny how your perspective changes... ;)

Good morning. I have to go to the grocery store today. I hate grocery shopping. :sad1:
