February 27, 2010 Eastern Cruise on the Magic

Never heard of the sailing regatta...can anyone give a link to Disney where it tells you about it.

The sailing regatta is actually called the 12-meter regatta. Go to "already booked" then Cruise Plans , then Shore Excursions, then St Maarten and you'll find it.

No experience nec. You actually will be part of the crew that races against another boat w/ other Disney passengers. Everyone is given a job to do. My husband was a grinder and I was a wench. Most everyone says it's the best excursion they've ever done, unfortunately I got seasick. But I forgot to take my bonine, had a big breakfast and was the wench ( which made me dizzy ).They take a picture of everyone on the sailboat while you're racing for you to purchase. Our's is hanging in our family room. You can also buy t-shirts. It's really a once in a life excursion...just don't eat a big breakfast and don't be a wench !!:rotfl2:

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone !!! :grouphug:

TIP FOR THE DAY

Tips :

Bring a stack of $1's and put them in your cabin's desk drawer for Room Service.

Everyday I like to give our Cabin Steward a mini candy bar, just like they leave us chocolates at night.

You're not suppose to give cash tips to the counselors in the kids' clubs, so we always give phone cards and candy. Everything they get goes in a pool. So don't feel like you have to give to all the staff.

Another idea is to bring Thank you cards to give to special people

You can pay your general tips before the cruise by calling DCL. It sure saves you from long lines at guest services. If you want to tip extra to someone, just put some cash in an envelope. If you feel the service you got was not up to par ( highly unlikely ) you can go to Guest Services and reduce the tip amount.

( josh ) Today i couldn't stop thinking about my trip today at school and it got me thinking...Is there any good picture spots at port canaveral around the disney port. thanks Josh.

I booked Palo brunch for Tues (St. Maarten). I thought it was odd that brunch wasn't offered on Sunday but was offered on Tuesday. Does anyone know what that is about? Is this normal for the Eastern cruise?

I've never heard of Palo Brunch on a port day ?? I think I'd call DCL to double check.

TIP FOR THE DAY

Store your suitcases under the bed. If they won't slide under, just lift the bed up.

Don't bother bringing extra hangers, your cabin steward will gladly bring some

Pack travel size Wrinkle Release, it's wonderful and you'll never have to stand in line at the laundry room

i looked at the grocery store and cant seem to find such a thing. what is the name of it and where did you find it??
i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving. we are so excited we dont know what to do with ourselves. joanne

It's called Downy Wrinkle Release. I think I got it at Walmart. They make a travel size. Do you have Bed,Bath and Beyond there. Our store has a huge section with travel size items. Check there. It's great stuff. Just spray the item and give it a little tug and the wrinkles disappear. If you don't find it let me know I'll bring you one !

Have you been working on your FE's ? I can hardly wait myself, and with having you guys around it makes it even more exciting !:cool1:

Hey, for any of you cruisers that are driving to Florida and want to stay in Orlando, I just received a fantastic rate for a Comfort Inn, 5 minutes from the parks. $29 a night!!!! Message me and I will forward you the link if you want. We will be there for three nights (2 rooms) before the cruise.
