February 26, 2011 - 7 Night Caribbean Sailing

Welcome aboard LadyKay!!

I got my cruise documents yesterday!!! :cool1: We are also supposed to get the blizzard tomorrow. 1-2 feet of snow YIKES! I really hope this is the end of the snow and we get fabulous weather for travel! Keep safe and warm everyone.

I received one booklet yesterday, but not one for the 2nd room we have. Hoping it comes today. It's so confusing because DH and FIL have the same name, different middle initial and they don't differentiate it on the docs.

Did someone say a booklet per person? I just see indiv. luggage tags and one booklet.

... is building with every flake of snow that falls! I cannot stress how excited I am to lounge by the pool, basking in the nice warm sun while sipping a lovely cocktail. :goodvibes

Read the booklet. That is your ticket. I forget if it is one booklet per person or if it is one booklet per stateroom. It will tell you whom the passengers are. Like the luggage tags, the main persons name will be on every tag, but the individual cruisers name will be on them aswell.

Thanks, looks like one booklet per stateroom. Still haven't received second stateroom one. I'll call at the end of the week if we don't get it.

I printed out the Mickey Ears last night to test it. Looks good! (to go over stateroom door #) We're going to put a few magnets on our door, but not a lot. Just something for the kids to be excited about.

Good morning everyone,

Still very busy with the new job and the photography classes. I'll be ready to take beautiful pictures once onboard.

The next 2 weeks will be crazy busy : my DH owns a flower distribution business so the weeks preceeding Valentines Day are insane; and the week after that I have to organize a last minute baby shower. My best friend just learned that she was a the mom of a 1 yr old baby girl in Colombia and is leaving to adopt on the 26th of Feb. So let me tell you that from now on, time will fly by.

Cruise stuff is all sorted I think. We have our costumes and door magnets. Excursions, Palo, 7 nights Wine package, 30 photo credits and Couples Villa are booked. Shirley's baskets are ordered. Our documents must be in the mailbox, my DD will go pick them up tonight. My TA called me on Monday to say that he had them and was mailing them.

I'll try and grab some US money at lunch or tonight. Fellow Canadians, the exchange rate has gone back up to par yesterday, so now's the time to go.

I haven't started packing but will do soon. I SHOULD start soon...

1, 2, 3 more fridays til CRUISE EVE!!!! :dance3:

I was waiting for the Friday count down. I told the kids and I got a OH YEAH, OH YEAH, OH YEAH!!!! Got our documents on Monday so excited. Guess it is time to start getting snorkeling gear and sand toys together and make a trip to the liquor store soon. :woohoo::woohoo: Our family definitely wants to do the ship tour so we will come meet everyone after that. My daughter is really hoping no life vests for the muster drill. But I agree with HenyClan why do it if you are not able to put it on.

Anyone else staying at the Country Inn & Suites besides Karen's family. We will be their Friday evening.

Oh I need some ideas for myself (female) for a simple pirate outfit. So far I have a pirate headband, black capri's and white t-shirt. pirate: Everyone else in my family is taken care of.

Welcome to all newcomers:cheer2::cheer2: Can't wait

Have a great weekend don't forget to cheer for the Packers on Sunday.
GO PACK GO!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Hope all of you are doing well and didn't suffer from the major snowstorm that blew through mid week. We were lucky and missed most of the damage, a little bit of ice on Tuesday and that was it. Schools have had four snow days so far which leaves one left before they start taking spring break away.

We have decided to leave on Wednesday evening as we just found out the space shuttle is due to launch on Thursday (24th) at 4:50 PM. This is the last mission for the Space Shuttle Discovery. We spoke to the boy's school and received their approval to have the boys miss another day of school, but both high school boys will have to complete Saturday school to make up any missing work and they seemed OK with this. They are both good students and the school authorized it as it has some historical merit. If the shuttle is postponed we will go back to the original plan of leaving Thursday. If you go to the NASA website you will see a picture of the Discovey at the launch pad.

Has anyone seen a shuttle take off, we are not sure where the best place to see it is! Is anyone else planning on seeing it launch?

Getting excited and :banana:NoKidz I look forward to seeing your post every Friday with the Friday update. I thought these past few weeks would drag by, but I'm finding the opposite is happening and it is going really fast. I hope that this continues.

Have a great weekend allparty:

My daughter woke up this morning and one of the first things she told me was 3 more Friday's Mom! I love her excitement.

Unless my documents came today I still don't have mine yet. It was too cold and icy to walk down to the mailbox today. I'll go tomorrow.

I realized I had no clothes out for my baby in spring/summer clothes or the next size up so I pulled out the clothes from the attic. I found some of the cutest most cruise appropriate clothes in there that I had completely forgotten about. I can't wait. I think I'm going to start packing the girls clothes since they really won't need to wear anything they will wear for the cruise in the next 3 weeks.

The closest I've ever been for a shuttle launch was Sanford, FL. It was a night lauch and it was beautiful. I used to watch them from my house in Palm Beach when I lived there and although not as specticular you could still see the launch from way down south. I wish I could be there on the 24th incase the lauch happens as scheduled but I just can't take another day off work, plus I can't afford the increased airfare fees. That and I still don't actually trust that the shuttle will launch on the 24th so I just can't go out of my way for it.

I am so ready for the cruise. Thanks to the unseasonably cold weather here in Houston I have Buffett running through my head. "Boat Drinks - specifically. I gotta go where its warm. " LOL. At least I didn't have to fly out today since the airport was shut down here in Houston.

My cousin had a question that I wanted to run by everyone here before I stick out on the general board.

He thought someone mentioned the spa may offers some time in one of the hot tubs in the spa area for 1/2hr or so for about $20.00 just for some private spa time with his wife to enjoy with no kids just them and the ocean. It showed a hot tub overlooking the ocean from the ship on the dvd video for planning your cruise. Anyone know anything about this or have heard about this at all. He was just curious to know ahead of time otherwise he was going to check with the spa when we get on the ship.

Thanks, have a great day!!! :littleangel::yay:

Hey Dana!

I called since this interested me as well. The cast member told me no, the only way to use those hot tubs is to get one of the spa villa treatments. Even with the spa villa treatments you only get 30 minutes. They are strict on hot tub times because there is sometimes another person(s) waiting after you. There are only two of the villa spa hot tubs on aboard.

Cassie,

Thanks for calling. Well it was worth a shot. I know he did not want to have to spend the cost of a spa treatment to get the hot tub. Oh well. Thanks for calling. :confused3

Busy working out and getting this bod ready for a swimsuit. :rotfl2:

Looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

Am I the only one who does not have their cruise documents yet? I keep anxiously checking my mail box every day hoping they are there.

I had a productive weekend. I sorted though and washed and pulled out clothes for the girls for the cruise.

17 days from now we fly out to Orlando! 18 days 1-1/2 hours until we leave for the port! Not that I'm counting or anything.

Just got an email from my TA that my travel docs just arrived and she is putting them in the mail for us. So I guess that means we should hopefullyl get them by this weekend. I wonder why some people got there documents a week ago and my TA "just got ours". Oh well I'm excited to get them. It makes it seem that much closer.

:eek::eek::eek:
and 14 days before we board our plane I decide to check our airline 'rules for baggage' my biggest fear being our cary ons will be too big. Tape measure in hand, only to find out the suitcase I used 2 yrs ago for the same trip is now considered too big!!!!:mad::mad:or I could sneak it by and risk spending an extra 50 bucks each way for my bag alone. Totally ticked off but glad it wasn't something I discovered 2 days before I traveled. Off to T J Maxx, Target and Kohls with tape measure in hand to see what kind of bargin I could find. I was able to get 2 large suitcases, less that 60 inches total area for less that 170. :sad1:Not what I wanted to spend money on right now, but I didn't want to donate to the airlines either.
My advise...check you baggage rules!!!

Just checked the weather!!! St. Maarten...80's this week. St. Thomas...80's this week...Cocoa Beach...70's this week!

I am a frozen popsicle here in the midwest...and am ready to thaw!!!

Hope everyone is well...the excitement is building!!!!!!!

Have a great week...see you all in 16 days!

Wait Tangled and Gnomeo and Juliet are going to show in 2D? That would make me so happy.

Baby is sick right now. I hope this doesn't start a cycle through the family. I also hope its nothing serious and she gets better in a few days.
