February 25th Magic Cruise Board

Thanks for joining. This is our first cruise as well! I think you can call the cruise line to see whats available. I think a lot of us are waiting to see if they offer anything or ask about an upgrade once we get there and are checking in. The pros may be able to answer this a bit better than I, though. We are excited for the cruise as well as winter has just hit us here and will be in full swing once we leave for Florida! I see you are from TO as well, are you flying out of Pearson? oh, and how old are the kids?

Thx for all the comments ... I booked a stateroom with veranda that I am satisfied with but I love a ggod deal and the upgrade costs were good deals. My wife is a little caustrophobic so if I could book a larger room I would.

Today was freezing so yup I am looking to go already. Sadly the excursions and cabanas already all gone so think we may do a private tour on
island and fend for ourselves on the other. My son Is almost 5 and daughter is 2 so they just happy to play on the beach.

Yes we are flying out of Pearson but leaving Friday at 4ish and used Hotwire to book Cocoa hotel for cheap. Hope to see you on the ship.

On a side note I am so happy That Make A Wish and or Disney were able to get Sydney a Cabana. I told my wife about it and she wants us to send something to your room. So if there is a souvenir that Sydney would like but think its too extravagant please Pm me and I'll do my best to make sure it's in your room.

I think a kids thread would be a great idea. Ugh it's back to school tomorrow and all thoughts are on the cruise...
Thanks everyone for all the info.
Happy new year to all!!:wizard:

Hi, all! I sent a request to IrishCowboy to start a kids thread. I will let you know when it is set up!

Hi, dpequignot...I am looking for an email address for you. Where can I send the FE list?

Thanks!

I just sent out the updated FE list! :surfweb: I am missing email addresses for a few folks. Please check your PM's and send me your email address as soon as you can.

The cutoff for the FE is January 15th. We will close it then and a final one will be sent out. It looks like right now we have 14 families with 11 Boys and 14 girls.

I think that is pretty manageable. Is everyone good with a "free-for-all" FE or do we need to have a scheduled delivery?

Thanks for the feedback!

Mommymedic/Navaz -

Yeah, fellow Canadians! We are in Ottawa :)

We have a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old girl.

Still debating on how to get to the ship. We will be flying in on Friday as well in case of bad weather. We have booked a room at Disney and are looking at taking their bus. I didn't think I wanted to deal with car seats this trip since we will only be on the cruise (shortened our vacation since the parks will be so busy with President's week).

What is everyone else doing in general? Do most people do one way car rentals and truck along their car seats? And stay near the ship?

Hey Shillee,

We actually splurged a little and have booked a car from Happy Limo to take us and pick us up. They will have car seats in the limo for our 2yr old and since its a stretch wont have a booster for son. Roundtrip was 350 including carseats (not including tip). With respect to hotel since it is only one night and we dont check in till about 9pm just booked with Hotwire ... ended up with La Quinta Inn for $57 a night. I'll be the guy wearing the Titlest cap with the Canadian flag :)

:thumbsup2

What, I miss three days and a bazillion more folks join in? Welcome everyone!

Dizzi - yes the 7th deck will be the party spot! :dance3::dance3:

3 Wilmingtonwalls - I confirmed with Bernard. He told me to remind him when we get there, and he'll put us in the same vehicle as you! :cool1:

Feiste - love Milly! DS started out with the smaller coasters, and was tall enough to tackle Magnum, Gemini and Mean Streak all in one day this summer. He needs my brother to take him on Milly, as the seat belts have gotten a little smaller over the years...:headache: Oh well. I should know better, seeing as how I have a "close" relationship with the place :rolleyes1

I love the paint chip idea, but doubt I can convince DH or grumpy Papa to wear them. I'll see what I can do though!

We're doing 1 way rentals each way, and I think we're going to book a hotel further out near Brevard County Zoo, and maybe hit that the day before the cruise. While the beach sounds fine to me, you just can't guarantee warm Atlantic water at the end of Feb. in Fla!

unfortunatley, there is no certainty of getting deck 7 even if we upgrade because it is GTY and it is for deck 5-7...

UGHHH i dunno what to do if i should wait til port or go ahead and at least upgrade to the GTY room now.....

Then possibly upgrae again at port:rotfl2:

I know a few people were not in favor of a "schedule" per se, but my thought is that even if we just give people a day (or say x family on Sun OR Monday) it will allow for more even distribution. It's really no big deal, though.

I would suggest that if you skip the schedule that you include a note on the list that all items should be delivered by mid-afternoon on Friday. That way people who want to get a jump on packing before early dinner or show don't miss out.

Yippee! That will be a fun day. :)

And I'm with you on the paint chip. No way I'll talk DH into that!

I have decided NOT to do the FE, But my $.02 is that a schedule is the best way to go.

This way every one doesnt deliver on the same day and the children are abel to get soemthing out of their FE everyday.

Also alleviates the running into someone else while delivering.....I dunno:confused3 I always liek it to be almost like a secret when i deliver, even though they know it coming and they know who its from i feel ike a DCL santa when i deliver..

Really excited there's so many young kids in our group & on the cruise! (Our daughter will be a couple weeks shy of 5, and our son is 3 1/2) The last cruise we took them on (in January of 2011) was on Celebrity and there were like 25 kids under the age of 18 on the ENTIRE ship! It was cute that they became little "celebrities" of their own, and everyone "knew" them, but they're going to be so excited to have so many kids to play with!

Hubby is ready to book a Christmas cruise onboard. Holiday cruises are already so expensive, I need to wait to feel the "MAGIC" before I can justify the cost of cruising Disney for Xmas. Then again, thinking of having to deal with Christmas crowds/shopping/cooking/family in just 12 short months from now is a strong driving force :)

Go wvu!!!!!!

Whooo hoooo!!!!

We r kicking butt and taking names,,

hopefully it stays that way!!!!

NAVAZ:
If you'd like we could share our Cabana with you so you would have access to the private beach. Once on the ship Im to list all the people in our party:) Sydney loves Minnie so anything Minnie is fine..she loves attention and that is so nice of you!! We are cabin 1056 unless I work some magic and get a cabin to combine my mom and us 4...
