February 25th Magic Cruise Board

Hi emmysdidi-
Just checking to see if you got my email with FE exchange info.....:cool1:

K OHANA what cruise did you do last time?

Hi! Sorry. Haven't been on in a while. November has been a busy month for my family! We were on the April 2-9 2011 cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Magic. Kind of feels like a homecoming for us getting back on the Magic! I love that ship! I still need to catch up reading all the posts...did we come up with a name yet?!

Hi emmysdidi-

Yes, I did! I will throw out a quick reminder!!! I am ready to send out the latest version of the FE list! Please make sure you send me your info, including your room number!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

So I was thinking about our cruise name and thought I would throw this out there. . . I had read some fun facts about Mickey Mouse and found that the angle of Mickey's ears is exactly 105 degrees, the same angle as the bonds in water. Since we will be on water with Mickey I thought it might be fun to throw the 105 in there and it could be sort of an inside secret. . . ? Perhaps something along the lines of "1sland 0riented 5aints" - incorporating the "saints" as well as "orient" for the beach and the 105 as well.
What do you think?

That's funny! What, might I ask, gave you the impression that we are less than saintly? :lmao: I am so not creative when it comes to this kind of thing, but Lynn (dizzi) can probably find a way to spice up our name!

Are you guys doing the main tour, or booking private? The dizzis and my family are going together, five in all, and we were trying to decide which way to go. We want to do Galleon (?) beach instead of Orient, spend some time at Maho, have a nice lunch and then shop. If 10 of us from the same ship are on one tour, I wonder if it would basically be private anyway.

I think it was your post on another thread about how much booze you could bring aboard! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure yet about the tour. How much is the price difference? I'm booking for the whole family (me, DS 6, DH, and my parents). I like your idea of the other beach, I've heard Orient can be more crowded, and more European in apparel (or lack thereof). WHile i'm sure DH would LOVE that, i'm not sure I'm ready to explain certain things to my 6 year old son.

Your itinerary sounds good to me, do you want to find out if we can do a group as private like that?

Hi, has anyone booked Palo etc??? I am trying to pay off the cruise this week and start booking Palo etc. I don't know what excursions we're doing yet. Has anyone done a turtle cove, swim with turtles, trip?:boat::boat::boat::boat::boat::boat::boat::boat: I'd rather not pay Disney excursion prices but we have to be back on board by 3:30 on the St. Thomas day and that makes me nervous....

Was there an answer to the 'how much booze?' question on the other thread? Since the in-laws backed out it isn't as much of an issue ie. drinking for fun now instead of sanity :woohoo:.... But I gotta bring the good rum!

We are planning to pay off the rest of the cruise this week as well so that we can book our activities asap. What would the veteran cruisers recommend for 'must-do's? If you were only to do 1 Palo meal would you choose brunch or dinner?

Emmysdiddi we have a guaranteed room booked so no #yet I will let you know as soon as I hear. Thanks for organizing this!

Regarding the cruise name we could always go with the tag "Sailing the Saints" but then have a graphic depicting something less 'saintly' such as a crooked halo or a disney villian ... More accurate but still family friendly pirate:

Bottom line on the booze - as much as you can carry on and fit through the x-ray machine at the port check in! (and it sounded like Dizzi and 3wilmingtonwalls are bringing a truckload) :rotfl:We plan on bringing a couple bottles of rum/vodka to mix with shipboard soda or booze and a 6 pack of dad's favorite NA beer. Still gotta save some $$ for drinks of the day!:thumbsup2

My problem will be buying the guavaberry rum on the islands, and getting it back through to OH after on a plane. Gotta work on that one...

I like your idea too about the cruise name with the graphic depicting something more in line with a villain! :littleangel:

:drinking1

Happy Thanksgiving to all the US folks! Gotta put the bird on in a couple hours! Baked all my pies and prepped side dishes yesterday.

Anyone going shopping tonight/tomorrow? I'm not liking this midnight thing, creeps into the holiday too much, so I'll probably sleep in and maybe pick up a few things. I've got most done.

1sland 0riented 5ailors....We Aint no Saint

That makes me laugh.

Only two days into the four-day weekend, and I am wiped out. And I didn't even have to cook yesterday! :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving. I am thankful that my
house is now decorated for Christmas, that my last consulting job of the year will be over in one week and I can concentrate on vacation planning, and most importantly - that in 90 short days we will be in sunny Florida, preparing to sail off into the sunset!! :cool1:

Did anyone go shopping today? I thought about it, but I decided to stay home. OMG - did you guys see the video footage of the crazies trampling one another at Wal-Mart over waffle makers and kitchen towels? Disturbing.

WE WON!!!!!

OMG what a good game.

No i didnt see any footage yet...

I thought about doing Best Buy for a tv...
But thought twice when it was time to get out of bed.
