February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

we are from Cumberland, Rhode Island. This will be our second Disney cruise.
Our clan includes myself (Jay) 41, dw Jennifer 38, and our ds Riley who will be three on 2-18. :cool1:

My family will also be on the Feb 25 western cruise. I am really hoping that my kids DD(14) and DS(10) are able to meet up with other kids their ages.
A snowy mess is forecasted for today but the good news is the kids will go back to school today. The lousy and cold weather helps us to look forward to our vacation.

Does anyone else have kids in these age groups?

Kathy

Hi jayv1 and kj375!! Welcome!! It looks like we have children around the same age! jayv1 I have a DS who is 3 (will turn 4 on March 6th) So they are kind of close in age and kj375 I Have a DD who is 15. Hopefully we can meet up some how!! :flower:

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

My kids took a cruise on the Magic in 2002 with my parents (who took all 5 grandchildren w/o parents). They are very excited and look forward to activities without their parents on this cruise. I am hoping that they will make friends and have a great time with and without us! ;)

My husband and I have been on 4 cruises but none with the children so this should be interesting. We enjoy Disney and usually go a couple times a year (sister, x-cast member & lives in Celebration).

Can't wait until February!!!

Kathy

Happy back to work everyone! Just digging out from the holiday break. At least we're under 60 days now . . .

Welcome newcomers!!! It ios great to have you aboard!!!
Man, I am too excited.... am already packed!!! I ironed everything and packed them the first day of this glorious New Year along with my DD16... hey,it was HER idea!!!! Honest!! I swear!!!!! Now, I am updating my temporary itinerary and couldn't remember about the "meet" times. If I am correct, I thought we had 2 separate times on 2 different days in case some missed the first one. Am I right? OK Rick... here is your time to shine... :sunny: ... wwhen, where and what days?
Also... at CC. I have made parasailing reservations but have to cancel some of the people in the parties as I was only able to book the whole party. Will Disney let me do that or will I have to forfeit the whole ressie?
Also, does anyone know how much the rainforest showers are?
One more thing.... Palo is all booked up. I wanted to do a Champagne Brunch (is that through Palo?). Since they are all booked... what do you think the chances are of still getting in? And where do we go to make those ressies once we get on the ship?
OK no more questions!!!! Sea you guys soon!!! Hahaha!!! :teeth: :cool1:  Karen

I believe we discussed 3:00 or 3:30 on Saturday, but then we decided that it would be better to move it until 11:00 or 11:30 on Sunday morning.

Not sure on this one, give DCL a call . . .

I belive it is $15/per day. You can purchase passes from the spa once on board.

Once you get on board, head over to Rockin' Bar D (I think) and get on the wait list for the brunch. You may get lucky :goodvibes :goodvibes . I've booked a dinner and a high tea for DW and myself. Now have to add DM and DA to the ressie.

Just sent a note to Native Way to sign up for Stingray City. Once that's booked, then the last thing I need to do (other than packing) is to Priceline a couple of hotel rooms by the airport for Friday night.

Rick,

I got the Marriott Airport for $64 a night on Priceline. Not sure if it's a nice hotel or not, but website doesn't look bad.

Thanks for all the info... I do not know how to do the quote thing...
So... at the risk of being way too far ahead.... there MAY be a Princess autograph signing at 11:30 Sunday. I do NOT know where I have come up with this.... however, I do not want to totally dismiss it either. That still DOES give me time to meet... but where? Also.... did we rule out trying the two days? If people board early ( and I have no idea what the chances of that are...) were we going to try to meet before the drill and all? If so, where and what time and do people want to try for that at all or is that out?
If we end up meeting on Sat... the kids that meet... if the kids can be pryed away from everything... this would give them an opportunity to meet before activities begin.
I do not want to be pushy or anything... in fact, I cannot even commit to meeting on Sat.... but was just wondering what others were thinking and also.. for you newcomers.... it was decided (and a very good idea at that) to go to Home Depot and get the bright green Mickey swatches in the paint section and wear that for the Disboard meets.
OK, did you tell me where? Sorry... I am SO excited I even drive myself crazy!!! :earseek:

I'm flexible on our meeting time and day (heck it's a Disney Cruise!). Why don't we put it to a vote?

1. Saturday at 3:00
2. Sunday at 11:00
3. Sunday at another time
4. Something completely different . . .

We've had great luck with Southwest. This trip is on Northwest miles (I fly a bunch for work).

I thought we agreed on the 11:00-11:30 time at the old scoops before Key West on Sun. morning? If that has changed...let me know!! As far as the paint swatches beaner720 and I were talking and were wondering if the green mickeys peel away from that sample or do you just pin on that whole paint sample or cut it out or what? I tried peeling it off the sample and didnt do such a good job!! Sorry if its a stupid question! :rotfl: Just wondering!! YEA!! it stopped raining here...now if only the sun would shine! :sunny: Seems like weeks since we've seen the sun!!

OK My shower water is running so I cannot talk....
First, you are right... they do NOT peel. So, I cut around the edges.. Do not really know what I will do yet... maybe get some double sided tape. A small safety pin may be difficult...
Next....OK... Sunday morn from 11-11:30 sounds great time, but I think I am flexible ( a little hard balancing my 4 kids, hubby, grandaughter and sister...) but I WILL be there!!!! I have the Rasul with hubby at 8, so he can go back to bed!!! Cannot wait to meet you guys!!
Now... Rick!!!! You can probably meet up with goui's family at the Hotel since you guys will be at the same one!!! :dog2: OMG!!!!This is such fun!! Going to take a shower now..MUST stop talking!!! :rotfl2:

I vote for #2 - Sunday at 11:00, before we arrive in Key West.

Another gloomy day here in WI :umbrella: ... like hjensen, still waiting for the sun to show it's pretty little face :sunny:

Count us in for option #2 . . . .

I've heard about this thing called the "sun" :sunny: It never shows its face here in Michigan during the winter . . .

Please make the temperature inversion go away :goodvibes

I thought that I'd pop in and let you know that we are going on this cruise too. Actually, my wife and I and another couple - all from Canton, MI (hi rjh8115!). First cruise for my wife and I, second for the other couple. We are really looking forward to this and we're trying hard not to get to overwhelmed with all of the available info!

Hi Gary!

Welcome to the group. :grouphug: You picked a great cruise for your first. Once you go Disney, you never want to go with anyone else!! ::MickeyMo :earseek:

It truly is a small world (now I have that song stuck in my head) :rotfl2: . What part of Canton are you from? We're up by where Sheldon and Sheldon Center meet (up near Joy Rd). I'll send you a PM with contact info. Perhaps we can linkup before February.
