February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Well the last month has been super busy but I'm back and we are really getting excited about the cruise. Can someone please tell me where you get the magnetic paper/poster to make a door sign. I went to Hobby Lobby and they didn't know what I was talking about. The name of it and where it can be purchased would help.

We were planning on doing Cozumel on our own by booking an Island tour with a local company, go to Paradise Beach, and do some shopping but since the hurricane has let the Cozumel plans uncertain I decided to just book an excursion through Disney to be safe so We are doing the Ruin and Playa Mia Beach excursion and we will have time to shop afterwards I hope. If anyone has any other suggestions on island tours please let me know. :confused3

We decided to upgrade from a Cat. 12 to a Cat. 6 to have a veranda. :cheer2: We will be in cabin 6608, it is further back than I would have liked. Is anyone familiar with this section of the ship? Our other cabin was closer to mid-ship.

I'm hoping to bring some Mardi Gras beads to share but will have to see how many I can bring. :rolleyes1 (we have to be careful with the weight because we are flying in)

We are using Captain Marvins if I am remebering correctly. I keep getting my two islands mixed up (what a pity, huh?).
Man, I would have really liked to book brunch... some alone time withthe hubby. Do openings ever re-appear?
I made some Castaway Cay ressies and am sure I will be canceling a person here or there. In the beginning everyone wanted to do everything. Now... Christmas is here, money is a bit tight and so I am getting mixed answers. They all better make up their minds quick!!!
I will be keeping warmer than ost of the states as I am here in Florida. I amjust so excited about this cruise!!! I made a flag to go outside my yard when my sister and her fqmily comes. I am also making chocolates in the shapes of a ship and sand dollars and star fish. I have my Mickey pancake shaper, my mickey ice cube tray and a Mickey waffle iron (I am borrowing from a friend) all ready! I swear the day after Christmas... that pile of clothes neatly on y closet floor, is going in the suitcase... no, I really am not joking... I am a sick puppy!!! :dog: I have my basket orders in and I did my magnets. I am not the one to give advice on those. Mine came out NOTHING like the ones I have seen on the boards. I have all 10 sets of matching Mickey pj's wrapped and all my other Mickey gifts for all of us.
The time is going very quick for me, but I am sure this will be slow time for my family as they will have to put up with me! Hahahaha. Oh, tonight (it is after midnoght...) I am making a countdown calendar for my granddaughter. I am using a Home Depot Mickey head to move from one day to the other!!
OK, now I can sleep! Bye guys!! Karen

Hi Cajun Cruiser!! I got my magnetic paper at Walmart. It is made by Avery. It worked out really nice! I impressed myself with the signs I made becuz I am not too computer savvy!!! Have fun making your signs!!! :teeth:

Hi all,
We're in the middle of another snow storm :umbrella: :cold: , 4-6 inches predicted. Just in time for the afternoon rush to get home :scared1: :upsidedow .

Any luck? Our flight was just changed by US air and now we get in much later. We are thinking about staying at the airport and using priceline.

How did it go?

I was just rejected for 3***s for 55 for the night before. :badpc: I will try again after my week is up.

Hope all works out for you Vava... you live in NY? Where? I was raised in Kingston, went to highschool in Poughkeepsie and then lived in Syracuse. I miss NY but not the cold!!!! :cold: Florida weather fits my age!!! :sunny: Although it is a bit nippy and rainy :umbrella: Cannot believe it is Christmas on the weekend. I made my "Mickey Ship Countdown Calendar" with my little Home Depot ears moving from day to day. Can you believe hopw close it is getting? You KNOW after New Years the time is going to fly by!!!!
I am thinking of getting one of those dry erase boards and putting magnet on the back so that if anyone from the post passes my room ( I think we are RIGHT near the Oceaneerclub and the elevators... hope so b/c that would be SO convenient!!) then they could leave a message. Any thoughts? Is that stupid? Do you think I would get smarty pants kids writing nasty things on it?
  Karen

Nope, we haven't tried Priceline yet. I've booked two rooms at the Fairfield Inn by the airport ($109 + taxes) as my backup plan. I hope to get something else for less via Priceline as we get closer to sail date.

Even though I said that I would wait, I bumped our request down to 2.5 stars and a increased the bid to 66.00 at the airport area only. I was pleasantly surprised with a win of 3 stars at the marriott at the airport. I checked and the lowest published price is 149.00 with a AAA discount.

If I would have waited another month, I might have been able to get it as low as 50, but I am happy to be done with the reservations. :Pinkbounc

If anyone is familiar with that area, is there a walgreens nearby? I have only stayed near the airport a couple times and really cant rememeber.

Dreamaker.... we are from Syracuse and I am sure you do not miss the NY cold. Last week we broke two records for low temps. One was zero and the other was six (above, thank God!).

Have a very safe and merry Christmas everyone! Here's hoping for peace in the New Year . . . .

Rick, Ilene, Matt, and Zack
