February 24-28, 2010--Help me Plan-Now I have something. 2-1-2010

It kills me knowing I could get the Beach Club Villa's cheaper if I rented points, by my trustee "renter" does not have any points and is saving a considerable chunk of points for me for April 2011.
Plus, I didn't want to take the time to establish "trust"
trying to find another DVC member.
(Sara-I would have trusted your family,
but you guys seem to use your coveted points and
actually use them.)

haha, yeah, we don't let too many of our points go to waste! :teeth:

Yay for the Beach Club! Too bad you couldn't get the Polynesian but the BC is nice too...especially if you're just going to go to Epcot.

The price is killing me. I know it is peak season, and we received 40% off rack rates, do people actually pack rack rates? It's insane. We are staying for 3 nites at the convention (The Ritz and I think it is only $180 a nite.

Update in next post.....Sad Story.

I have a sad story to tell.

I've been working out like crazy since last Fall.

Why?

Because I read an awesome Trip Report.

Does that surprise you?

No, because there are lots of awesom Trip Report.

Anyhow, I saw a heading that said,

Find out how I swam in Bay Lake.

Me, I thought for sure, she probably fell in,
getting off of the Ferry or something.

Nope, she ran a Tri-athalon at WDW
Labor Day Weekend.

1/4 mile swim in Bay Lake,
7 Mile Bike Ride around Camp Wilderness
and a 3 mile run from Camp Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge
and back.

OMG, I so want to participate.

It is called "Goofy's Tri-athalon".

It is not about winning,
it is about accomplishment.

Before I turn 50-in a few years,
I want to accomplish that Tri-athalon.
But, just tell Disney for me, okay.
They haven't scheduled another one.

I read on some TR's,
that water moccasins were found in the Bay Lake.
Snakes-yuck,
and an alligator.
Plus I heard the water is very polluted.
So, who knows,
it could be
Just Rumors, but since it hasn't been rescheduled.

Anyways, I found out there is going to be a similar
race in Milwaukee.
Part of the swimming will be in Lake Michigan.
I can't imagine swimming in the Lake either,
it doesn't warm up past 64 degrees.

So, that is half of my sad story,
the other half of my sad story---

While I was working out yesterday,
45 minutes on the elicptic machine
35 minutes on the tread mill-I walk 3 minutes, run 2 minutes-hey I'm getting up there,
and then I went to my Body Pump Class for an hour.
When I was finished, I walked back downstairs to the locker room,
and noticed all the locker doors were open.
I looked in my locker and--

someone stole my
WDW Sweatshirt.

I am so mad.

Our YMCA is being redone.
They are tearing down part of the building and
building a new one,
while they try to remain open.

Locks are not allowed on lockers,
and you can't take anything with you while you work out.
So you are suppose to be careful, with what you bring in.

I usually carry my keys in my pockets,
because people have been known, to take keys out of lockers
and then break into cars.

So, on Friday, the temp. was probably 6 degrees.

I had on heavy sweatpants and my beloved
WDW 1971 Vintage Sweatshirt on over my workout clothes.
Plus my headband and mittens.

I put everything in a locker, and grabbed my keys and decided
to put them in my mittens, because of my long work-out.
I should have listened to myself, because I already had a funny
feeling. But I really didn't have anywhere else to go with my exra clothes.

WTH,

I quickly looked in my locker and at first I thought everything was gone,
then I noticed just my beloved sweatshirt.

Then I looked up, to see if my mittens were there,
because my keys were in my mittens.

Thank goodness.

I ran upstairs, and told them my sweatshirt was taken,
and all the doors in the locker room were open.

The head person, gave me a very large t-shirt to wear
because it was freezing, out.
But I declined, because I was more worried that they may
have broken into my car...
no one did, and then I realized they wouldn't have
put my keys back in my locker.
I just wasn't thinking rationally yet.

I called my dd at school.
She worked out with me at the YMCA during her
Christmas Break, and I knew she would understand.
She was my work-out buddy for the last 6 weeks.
She was a great motivator, and all of us "Mom's miss her during class."
She understood.
Gotta love my dd.

She told me, that I can get a new one next month.
It just won't be the same...

Hello Marisa! :goodvibes

Yay for an upcoming trip! :cool1: So sorry about the stolen sweatshirt. That stinks.

This past weekend, my dh got an e-mail from his convention.
The convention said, he didn't register for a room yet.
I'm hopin the "inn" is full.
I'm sure it isn't,
but it would be nice.
My dh could all the driving back and forth,
from WDW to the convention.

We were discussing the convention,
and a "final farewell dinner" is on Friday nite at 7:00 p.m.

Anyways, my dh told me I could take our rental and check-in.
Do what I want for the day, but pick him up at 4:00.
Drive back and we can get ready,
then drive back to the Ritz by 7:00.
(See why I'd rather him do all the driving around)?

I don't think he ever heard of the Friday traffic in Orlando.

If there is a back-up on I4,
"I" actually know a different route-International Parkway--
all the way to Sea World. And the Ritz is down the road 2 miles.

Nothing else new.
Did some shopping yesterday.
It's pretty hard to shop,
when the only things in the store are
sweaters and sweatshirts on the "clearance rack".
I did find a brown sweater and a nice shirt at Maurices yesterday.

When I got home, my dh wanted me to order a Radon Tester kit online, with some Sears gift certificates he had.
He told me I could use the rest of the certificates if I could find anything at Sears.
I actually found a Mickey Sweatshirt-but it was sold out when I went to put it in my basket.
Then I found a "Grumpy Sweatshirt" and they had my size.
But I deleted it out of my "basket", I really don't want to walk around with a Grumpy sweatshirt on. I'm grumpy enough!!

I'm actually thinking of going to the basement and getting my suitcase up
and start packing.
5 days, 2 sets of clothes for each day.
Plus, swim suit & jammers & workout clothes.
And my dh thinks we can get by with carry-on
not!

I pre-paid for our seats,
he can pay for checked luggage.
While he gets our rental-I'll get the luggage!

I vote for starting to pack now! :cool1:

I have all my spring/summer clothes packed away.
And I have to figure out if something needs re-washing and then ironing.

Now to check out your pre-trip.
I am going to step-class tonite,
then body pump and wearing my shoes.
I usually wear my crocs and change into my shoes,
but I will not step a foot in the locker room ever again,
maybe to use the bathroom, because there are only 2 bathrooms now.

Well, you could start packing now that it is February! haha I am never that on top of things, I'm always packing the night before.

That is a bummer about your sweatshirt. :guilty:

I sure hope they enjoy my WDW sweatshirt and hopefully they didn't toss it away in the garbage.

Snowing in Wisconsin, again.
We have been lucky and really haven't had that much snow.
This past Tuesday, we got 3 inches, and there were a ton of accidents again.
I think people forgot how to drive in snow again.
I sure hope there are no snow delays when we flight out.

I'm pretty pro-active with the airline.
I know the airline will post at least 18-24 hours any kind of snow alert.
And once they do, you can change your flight with no fee.
It would be great to fly out earlier, just not later.
But that also means I need to get my (actual) work done at my regular job.

Church Lady here-need to have the Sunday bulletin done and delivered,
to each parish,
make sure there is enough wine, hosts, prayer sheets, etc.
And Please God, don't call anyone home to your pearly gates while I'm gone.
There are way to many people to call and arrange a funeral--
is that bad to ask for this?

Last week, I got my hair highlighted, and cut-but not so much.
My hair-stylist, is getting certified to be an Alveno Stylist,
so she has to put in so many hours, and she needed people to work on.
So, she did a good job highlighting my hair,
but she barely cut any off.

My hair doesn't grow straight, it bushes out.
I seriously have to have it cut at least 4-6 weeks.
So last nite my dh had a hair-cut, and I asked if
she could quickly trim mine.
So, I am good again I broke even, with the first stylist,
was free with a $20 tip,
and last nite, it was $32 because she had to wash my hair,
and then cut. I had to much styling lotion in my hair. The styling Lotion
helps keep the frizz down.

I am going to pack this weekend.
See what I need to wash, iron and press for my dh.
He seriously has things in suitcases yet, that he don't wear,
and just waits till the next trip he takes.
He drives me nuts.
He basically wears the clothes that work provides for him.
And on Sunday's, he wears the same shirt/blue jeans and
a fleece.
I told him, I am burning the fleece-
I can't stand looking at him in his fleece anymore.
I bought him a new one, and threw the grey one out,
and he went back in the garbage and dug it out. Gross!!!!

I wish I would be more in shape to run the 5K run at Disney Studios.
I read it was ESPN weekend. And I'm pretty sure it is.
And the Disney 1/2 marathon is the following week.
I don't think I could every do a 1/2 marathon.

I'm still in training to do the tri-athalon.
Someone just tell Disney please to schedule it.

It's been a few years, but I was there during ESPN the weekend a couple of times. The DHS was more crowded, but you're correct, they weren't filling up VOTLM or Beauty and the Beast. I didn't notice increased crowds at the other parks.

I'm glad you agree.

Hey Marisa...not long now, only a week to go! You getting excited?

Haven't updated in awhile.
Just watching the weather.
Most of my plans are contingent on how warm it will be

I don't think it is going to be in the 80's at all,
probably just in the low 70's,
which is great walking weather in the parks.

Plan A
I may sign up for a 3 hour "adventure"
at the convention.
Apparently, they have
rock climbing,
zip lining and hiking.
I faintly remember seeing the towers being built last year.
It is only offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The only problem I have is ,
we are checking out at 11:00 a.m. on Friday
so I won't have access to our room. They offer 3 sessions
and I would probably do the 1st session of the day.
So I would technically be done by 1:00 p.m.
I could then drive over and check in the Beach Club.
Go back by 4:00 p.m. pick up my dh,
drive back to the Beach Club and let him get ready
and then we have to drive back to the Ritz for a closing party.
I wish we could just skip the closing party,
but we can't.

Plan B
If it warms up on Friday, I still want to do Typhoon Lagoon.
Check into the Beach Club and
then do all the crazy driving back and forth again.

So,
Wednesday-fly in, and eat at Kat's new resturant on the BoardWalk.
Thursday-DS
Friday-Plan A or Plan B
Saturday-Epcot
Sunday-I made a breakfast ADR at the Dolphin
Then we plan on packing up and I want to go
over to Celebration and walk around.
Our plane leaves at 3:45 p.m., so we need to be
at the airport by 1:30 at the latest.

Hey Marisa...not long now, only a week to go! You getting excited?

Yes,
These old people, keep coming into my office and telling me how this big blizzard is coming at the end of February. I don't mind if I am gone and can't get back home.:rotfl: Just let me get out of Wisconsin on Wednesday.

Want to hear how I made a huge mistake?

My kids tell me I can't go to WDW, we have to stay home and go to the hockey game Sat. and then stay for the concert.

Anyways, my 2 dd's are in my nieces, (goddaughters) wedding in July. My dd had the day off Monday for Presidents day. Anyway, she flew to Texas to help my niece plan some of the wedding things, because she is made of honor. In January, my oldest dd, stopped in at my house on her way to the dentist in Oshkosh. She told me to book her a flight to Texas, from Thursday to Monday, Feb. 15th.

When she went to the airport to fly home, she wasn't in the system. Her return ticket was for March 15th. So, I was at the YMCA working out, and when I got to my car, my phone had 12 missed called and 7 voice messages. Everyone was trying to get a hold of me. Midwest would not put her on a plane or reschedule her at the airport.

The all-star basketball game was in Dallas and everyone was flying home on Monday, all flights were booked solid. So, when I got home, I was able to reschedule her ticket for the next day. So she was able to fly home with her grandpa and uncle, who were also in Texas for the weekend. So things turned out okay, but lots of time and money spent for my stupid mistake.

David told me I can't be his partner anymore on The Amazing Race, and I have to stay home, so we can go to the Admiral's Hockey game Saturday nite. My dh usually gets the box seats, and he won't get the tickets unless he is there. Everyone is mad at us for going to Florida. But they will all get over it, and go buy regular seats.

Oh geez, that is crazy about the flights! :scared1: Luckily she was able to get home the next day.

That's funny about the Amazing Race. I'm not all that into AR but my sisters and Dad are so I'll watch it every once in a while (Survivor and American Idol, on the other hand...). My sisters keep saying how they should apply for it too. Yeah right.

Bummer about the box seats. We sat in one of the suites a couple times, once for a birthday party a loooong time ago and then once when my dad got seats. Pretty cool. Do you guys go to a lot of hockey games or just when you get the boxes? I have a friend who's pretty obsessed with the Admirals. LOL.

2 of my kids went to Northern Michigan in Marquette and hockey is huge up there. Of course you get free tickets to any sport events if you are a student. So, this is why they love hockey games. My sons best friend still lives in Marquette and when he comes and visits, we always make sure to go to hockey games down in this area. In fact my sons best friend is coming down next weekend too. My ds works where my dh does, and he is going to ask for the box seats.:rotfl: My dh is just afraid, that they will celebrate a little to much for his liking.

My dh had to go to Theif River Falls, MN-home of Artic Snowmobile and assign vehicles, equipment out to the pipliners.

Anyway, he knew I am a little stressed about driving around in Florida.
I'm not afaid to drive,
but I tend to loose my sense of direction,
very easily.

He told the communications dept.
that he can't take phone calls, when he has
his GPS on.
So, they felt sorry for him,
and gave him a brand new Garmin.

Last nite he called and said,
"me and Betty are going to get along famously."
"She likes to yell and bark out directions."

I also found out another couple will be going along,
and my dh boss and his wife.pirate:
They both asked my dh if I would spend a day with them
at WDW.
I can handle the bosses wife,
she is younger than me-and likes my kids.
I haven't had to much contact with her-
but she gets in her comfort zone with me-
because I am no one she has to impress.
The other wife-is a gem.
I can't wait to spend some time with her.
She will love going to Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid etc., at Disney Studios.
For the last 25 years, she has volunteered her time
at our local highschool at "Forensics Coach".
She is just an all around, really great person.

And, we are going golfing on Friday morning.
I did plan on going to Typhoon Lagoon,
but with the weather being in the low 70's,
golfing sounds so much better.
Plus, I have the "added incentive on my ticket",
so I made a ressie at WDW.
Can't wait to see those Mickey golf carts.

So now, I'm spending my Thursday morning with
the owners wife and the other wife,

On Friday morning, my dh bosses mom,
who is CEO of the company
driving up from her winter home
Friday morning to meet us.
She doesn't golf to much, but we told her she can
take a few swings.

Then those 3 are going back home with her,
and I can check into the BC,
and go back in the afternoon and pick up dh,
and do all the crazy driving back and forth again.

Gotta love change,
it can throw you for a loop.
