Hello Everyone! Now that we have made it through the holidays I am really getting excited for this cruise.....is it February yet?

I am up for doing a Fish Extender Exchange. I have two other parties that are traveling with me that would probably participate as well.

I'd be happy to coordinate it. If you want to participate please either respond to this thread with your stateroom number, the number of people staying in the stateroom, ages & gender for kids, and names (optional). You can always PM me if you prefer that route instead.

Hello Everyone - sorry I haven't been on the boards much. I keep hoping life will slow down a bit, but so far that hasn't happened!

I will try to pull the FE list together and post it tonight. Is everyone ok with me posting it to our thread or would you rather I send individual messages? If I post it to the thread I can leave personal names off of the list. Let me know what you think.

For those new to the Fish Extender Exchange, here is my best description of what it's all about:

Beside every cabin door is a large silver fish with an indentation in the back for cruise personnel to leave information, invitations, etc.

DISboarders have taken the silver fish one step further... by creating hanging pockets (much like cloth letter holders) to hang from the fish - thus the name, "Fish Extender". The Fish Extenders (FEs) can be made of practically anything (cloth, plastic, paper gift bags, etc.), as long as they have at least one pocket that can hold surprises. There is a lady on Ebay that makes them if you want a fancy one. Just search for Fish Extender on Ebay and it should come up.

Then, each "Cruise Meets" thread organizes a little gift exchange during the cruise. People sign up by giving their cabin number, names of everyone in their cabin, and ages of the kids so that everyone will know how many goodies to bring and where to deliver them. Some people give one surprise per family, some people give a little something to each person. It's totally up to the giver to decide what to give and when to give it during the cruise.

There are several threads that discuss ideas for FE surprises. Some gifts are from Dollar Stores, some are handmade, and some are bought in bulk from websites that sell trinkets like the Oriental Trading Company. Often, they are stickers, candy, glow sticks, lanyards, etc., with themes such as pirates, beach, cruise, tropical, hometown, holiday, etc. The main idea is just to have fun finding little goodies in your FE throughout the cruise. Kids LOVE running back to their cabin to see if anything's been left in their FE. As an adult, I have to admit that I love it, too!!!

If you'd like to join in on the fun on our cruise, please let me know. You'll also need to print the final list of participants and pack it with your gifts so you'll know where to deliver them once you're onboard the ship.

Hi there! I'm sure everyone is on their way or getting ready to leave so this may not reach everyone involved in the fish extender exchange, but just in case. Unfortunately, we will not be cruising...we were in room 8188. We had to cancel today...thank goodness for travel insurance! We arrived in Florida on Sunday and by that night we were in the ER with my 7 yr old. We thought she was constipated but when she started vomiting and running a fever, we ran to the ER. She had an intestional blockage and was very ill. It came out of nowhere b/c the first time she complained of pain was that afternoon. She is recovering and doing better but not stable enough to be on a cruise and has been on a liquid diet...only starting soft foods today. We are disappointed but there will be other cruises..we are just thankful that she is doing better. Hope everyone has a great trip!

Hi guys! Not sure if anyone is checking back on this thread. But I'm trying to keep track of all the scheduled stops on Castaway Cay this year. I haven't been able to find out for sure if your cruise made it's scheduled call. If someone could post or PM me that would be great. If you could remember generally how the weather was, that would be a bonus. Thanks!
