February 23, 2008 Magic Western

This may seem stupid but when they say you can make reservations 75 days out for Palo's and the Spa are they including the departure day of Saturday 2/23 or do we count back from Friday 2/22?:confused3

For me, the final payment is due 75 days before, which is Dec. 10th. So, I am imagining it is that day.

As for excursions, does anyone else find that they have a hard time booking their excursions?

I am a travel agent, and we get deals only if we book last minute. But, I am wondering, if I were to switch my dates... would I have a hard time getting the excursions that I want???

Hi Melissa!! You just responded to my other thread about having problems with my TA!! I'm so torn right now as to what to do!!! But I will keep you posted!! She is the owner so there is no manager....she is such a nice person but kind of dropped the ball on this one! I meet with her next week so hopefully I will have made my decision as to what I'm going to do! Thanks for the advice!!

Yes, keep us updated! Good luck to you... hopefully if she is having personal problems, she'll have herself together in time to get your trip all fixed up!

So, I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is that I am now an official TA and my work contract has been extended.

The bad news is that it has been extended to Mar. 14/07 only. And, I have been advised that I can't take any vacation between now and then...

I am going to have to cancel this cruise. :sad2:

I was a little sad and depressed about it, but I have decided I'm going to rebook, last minute, sometime between March and May. I'm so sad I'm not going to meet you people :wizard:

Edited to read "I'm not going to meet you people". Originally said "I'm not going to miss you people"... oops!!!!!

Hi,

Just paid my depost for the 2/23/08 Western. This will be our third DCL cruise, but the first with a baby. We did a 4 night in 2003, an Eastern 7 night in 2005 with a large group of friends, and now a Western with our new daughter. She'll be 15 months in February.

We had such a good time cruising with a group of friends last time that we're really looking forward to making some new friends on the meet thread for this time.

Welcome. Our daughters are close in age. Kyley will be 19 months in February.
Can't wait for the cruise.

Any tips to share? We booked a cat 6 so I could sit on the verandah and enjoy the day while Aeryn naps, hopefully every day. Other than that, we're just winging it so far.

Not sure if we're going to be able to leave her at Flounders much - I'm a SAHM so she's never been in daycare. Hopefully she'll take right to it.

Hi Trish,

Welcome to the group! I have added you to Post #50:

My brother and sister-in-law and their 3 kids are also coming on this cruise - they booked recently! The kids are DN (nephew) - 13, DN (niece) - 11 and DN (nephew) - 12 mos.

Maybe all you Moms can have a DIS-meet on Deck 4 while your kids have an afternoon nap in their strollers!!!!

Talk to you again soon! Only 4 months to go!

Thought I would move us back up....
Is anyone thinking of doing Fish Extenders?

3 more months :dance3:

I am going to do the door decorations, to. I have never done them on any of our other cruises. I thought the fish extenders were really neat to.
Can't wait.

I think I've had my door magnets done for a couple of months now! They're up on the side of the refrigerator. I did make them for our first cruise and they were so much fun to do that I just couldn't wait! I would love to have a fish extender also but am not very handy in the sewing department. Do any of you know where you could buy any?? :confused3

I looked a few months ago to see if a thread was started for this cruise and couldn't find it, so I'm glad I looked again. We are also booked on this cruise. It is me and my DH. He is 48 and I am 50. We are going with another couple also. This is our 2nd Disney cruise. The first was the eastbound repo through the Panama Canal in 2005. An unforgettable trip. I couldn't make up my mind about booking this back in April, but when I pulled up the reservation on line it assigned us the very same cabin we had on our first cruise so I decided it was a sign we were supposed to book it. We are in 7568 and our friends in 7570. Loved the location before. Can't wait for February.

Hi Cindy!!! :welcome: Glad you looked again and found the thread!! Its hard to believe that we are approaching the 3 month mark! Can't wait!!

Hi Cindy,

I have added you to Post #50...

It's great to have you join us! I imagine we will all start chatting a bit more, now that it's getting cold and miserable (and dark!) outside and we only have 3 months to wait!

The cruise is coming very quick. What is everyone doing before and after the cruise?
We are staying at the caribbean beach 2 nights before the cruise. I haven't decided for the one night after. Possibly the poly.

Nothing! We usually come down early and do parks, then cram in something on disembarkation day. This time, we've got a baby with us. Our current plan is to fly in Friday night, stay at the MCO Hyatt, take DCL transfers to the ship and back and fly out promptly after the cruise.

We're arriving Thursday and staying near the MCO airport. We have a limo picking us all up on Sat morning to get to the Magic as early as possible. Sadly, we are also leaving to fly home the following Saturday morning...
