February 23, 2008 Magic Western

We are arriving on Thurs. also. We'll be renting a car and staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Port Canaveral. Then we'll probably drive to Cocoa Beach or something on Fri. We'll fly home right after the cruise. :sad1:

We are also arriving on Thursday. Staying at WDW. We are staying at the BWV. I tried to talk our friends into staying at the beach but they wanted WDW.

Hi all! We just booked the Magic Western as our very first Disney cruise (and first cruise altogether) this morning, so I was glad to find this thread. We are so excited! :woohoo: We have a Cat. 9 on Deck 2.

We are a family of four from NH: Michelle (34), Craig (38), Julia (7) and Megan (3.) Looking forward to meeting some fellow cruisers!

Hi Michelle - I have added you to the official cruise roster! Great to have you join us online. Our daughter Riley is one lucky girl - there are lots of girls on the thread this year in her age group!

Hi all,

I have updated Post 50 with a summary of all of the kids that have been reported to be coming on the Magic on the 23rd. Looks like there's already someone for everyone! I know for my two daughters last year, it was all about having a friend - here is a copy!

Hi Guys!! :wave2: I was just wondering if any of you have decided what if any excursions you are going to be doing?

Hi Holli,

We are considering the Dolphin Discovery at Cozumel, or the super-speedy boat ride with a stop at Sea Grapes Beach trip at Grand Cayman - it will be one or the other - not both... I guess we have to get thinking, as our reservation date is rapidly approaching!

I think we will buck the trend and avoid Key West altogether. We did not disembark there last year either, and have no regrets. It was wonderful to have a relaxing afternoon on board, and there were fewer cruisers to contend with - you could actually swim in the pool, etc.....

Hi! We're from New Hampshire too. Mason, on the MA border west of Nashua.

I'm really starting to get excited about the cruise now that there are more people to talk to.

Hi Guys!! :wave2: I was just wondering if any of you have decided what if any excursions you are going to be doing?

We're not sure if we're going to be able to do any excursions at all. I'm hesitant to book anything in advance when I won't know if my DD will be ok in Flounders for several hours. She's never been in daycare before.

Hi Elizabeth! Well we are also going to avoid Key West. We Weren't too impressed when we went in '06. Although the weather was crummy and DS and DD were sick... we also plan on taking advantage of the empty ship!! This time in Grand Cayman we were going to do the Island Tour. Last time there we did the semi submarine and then just shopped and walked around. So we really didnt get to see too much. Cozumel...we're still not sure! Castaway Cay we plan on doing the Stingray Adventure and then we were thinking of renting bicycles. In Cozumel I wanted to go to Nachi Cocum but it seems like I am the only one who wants to do that..:sad2: Its really hard for us to agree on what to do! My older DS is deathly afraid of the ocean!! He doesn't even want to do the Stringrays at CC!! :headache:

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm glad to see so many kids Julia's age too. She can be pretty hesitant about joining a group, especially in a situation like this where I'm sure at first, things will be pretty crowded and chaotic. I'm hoping it will help if she can meet a few friends right off the bat. Once she gets going I know she'll have a great time.

Hi Trish -- We are from Henniker, about 25 minutes west of Concord!

I'm sure I will have lots of questions for you experienced cruisers once it really starts to sink in!
Michelle

Welcome Aboard Michelle!

As far as excursions go the only one I am doing is the scuba diving in Cozumel. We did Xcaret and Stingray swim in 2006. The last time we were in Key West was 1995 just the DW and I then. I would like to take the kids to the aquarium and go back to a neat little bar called Turtle Kraal's. The rest of the time will be spent on the beach or by the pool. I was told I was not allowed to drag anyone all over the island's again.pirate:

The cruise is coming very quick. What is everyone doing before and after the cruise?
We are staying at the caribbean beach 2 nights before the cruise. I haven't decided for the one night after. Possibly the poly.

We are flying in to MCO on Friday afternoon and staying at the Country Inn & Suites. We have a early flight on Saturday to get back home.pirate:

We'd originally booked a cat 6 gty and I just noticed yesterday that we got a cabin number assigned. 6628. I couldn't be happier if I'd gotten to pick it myself.

It's starboard side so I can see the fireworks from my balcony if the baby is already asleep, and it's just around the corner from the aft elevators.

Hello,

We will be going on the cruise. It will be myself (38) and my DD8. This will be our second Mother Daughter Cruise, but the first one just the two of us. My Mom came with us last year when we went on the 4 day Majesty out of Miami.

Check your cruise price. We are booked in a Cat. 12 Gty., and the price just droped about $200.

Happy Thanksgiving to all US cruisers - we celebrated Thanksgiving in October here in Canada!

Also, happy 3 months and 1 day!!!! I am getting ready to go online on Saturday at midnight to make reservations!
