Planning hopefully our next Disney adventure. Kids will be 8, 4-1/2, and 2 months old.

Questioning the weather - what should we expect? Will kids be able to play in the pool?

Trying to strategically place the trip in the off season so it's not as insane, and also trying to fit in consideration for a baby due in December and older daughter's competitive dance season. February seems the only time that will work!

Advice? Thoughts?

We went just before Valentine's Day last year and it was fabulous! We had first timers with us, and aside from the refurbs that usually happen more often in the 'off season', it was perfect! They didn't get to see the whole Soarin area or Splash and Critter Country, not to mention the tarped castle, but we still kept super busy trying to see everything and go back to our favorites.

Weather was beautiful and not too hot, but definitely warm enough to take a swim break in the afternoon.

The lines were mostly short, and it helps if you are willing to keep an eye on the Disneyland app for the shortest wait in the area.

I would not hesitate to book another trip for February. Just make sure to avoid Presidents Day weekend and any other major events and you should do fine. I know there is a thread that lists them all somewhere...

If fireworks or night time entertainment matters to you, make sure to plan at least one weekend day (Fri., Sat., or Sun.) into your itinerary. Traditionally, night time entertainment goes to weekends only during the off season, although WOC should show nightly.

Perfect thanks guys. A little reassurance is just what I needed. We went in May last time and it was SO hot I wanted to die (it was just a flukey weird week!), so don't want that again. They still had the fireworks only on weekends, so we'll probably just make sure we're there on the Friday evening. We never ended up seeing WOC last time anyways...I think we'll actually go this time I hope. Eek!!!

February is slow, which is nice. Depending on where you're coming from you might be able to do some swimming in the afternoon. I think there is an American holiday weekend around there (MLK day? Does that sound right?), which can be busy, and Valentine's Day wknd. Not nearly as busy as say, Spring Break, but if you can go during the week, it will be super fun.

There is no true "slow" time anymore, it seems. So if you've been during slow times in the past...don't expect it to be the same. We went in February 2015 and it was definitely more crowded than we expected for a time of year that used to be kind of dead. It is still likely going to be better than most other times of the year though...which is why we are going back in February 2017. :) Expect ride closures.

Weather shouldn't be too bad. Though really...ANY time of the year, it's possible to be quite hot there. It's just luck of the draw really. We've had times in winter be rainy and cold. Other times hot and sunny. But if you're going with the odds...February is a good time to avoid heat. In 2015, we wore shorts and t-shirts all day. Then we put pants and a sweatshirt on our toddler in the evening. I was fine in a sweatshirt and shorts.

Avoid president's day weekend, if possible.
