February 2015 Discounts

Thanks for your response, Jeff. The last week of Feb 2015 is when we are headed there as well. I did see the Princess Half Marathon is 2/22 so I imagine some of those folks will linger thereafter.

We will be there the last weekend of February for cheer competition. The actually competition is March 1. The attendees are staying at the All Stars. Don't know which one or ones.

My BF and I decided to plan a Disney trip for Valentine's Day weekend (which is also Presidents Day weekend) - I am now feeling like we will not be getting any discount because those exact days will be blacked out. Further, I am now worried about the crowds. I have been 25+ times to Disney, but he hasn't been in about 10 years, so I don't want to spoil the experience for him.
Thoughts?Should we reschedule?

It is always better to celebrate before an actual holiday than after it. We have been there the weekend before Valentine's Day, when the discount was still available, and it is a nice time to go. It isn't terribly crowded then.

Depends on what day you arrive. Rates go up as of Thursday night so I am betting if you check in by 2/11 Weds, you will be able to take advantage of discounts offered.

We are there 2/8-2/15 and while I expect it to be crowded on Fri-Sunday, I am also looking forward to a few days of low crowds before that!

As many times as I have been, this will be the first Valentines Day trip.
I will be looking into getting there just a tad early so that we can hopefully get in on any discounts if any are available!

Last year the moderates had a 25% off for room only, correct? I bet it will be no more than 20% off this year. But we will see.

can someone just clarify something for me? (I'm sure this is a really dumb question) I'm a "plan things way in advance" type of person, so I booked at All Star Movies for the week I'm there (President's Day leading into the Princess Half, ughhhh it'll be so busy) because I wanted to make sure we got a room. if/when a discount is announced, will they just apply it to my reservation if I call and ask? or would I have to switch to a different resort, or lose the deposit I made at ASM? (I used a gift card for the deposit, so it wouldn't be the end of the world I guess)

I'm sure all you Disney pros are rolling your eyes at me lol.

They can apply it if there are discounts rooms available. Having a room booked doesn't guarantee a discount down the road. If they do have to switch you they can just modify and keep the deposit on there.

I'm not certain but sounds right. I had free dining in October, a 25% off a room for weekend in June... I'm hoping for either one for February... I'm just not sure SPD would benefit is but I could be wrong.

Lurker first time poster.

I have made ADRs for the dates I'm hoping to go in Feb but I've been holding out in actually booking a room hoping and waiting for the discounts to come out.

Part of me feels I should have just booked then tried to apply any discounts another part of me is trying to hold out and just wait for the discounts to come out so I don't have to spend hours on the phone trying to adjust and move things about.

Current promotion expires 10/3/2014 so it is likely they will wait to release one until after this time. The past 3 years it has been early October!

I booked the Disney Resort hotel. Once the discounts comes out they will apply the discount.
