February 2015 car rental code watch!

Man we are looking for a car the last week of Feb to the first part of March and wow what happened to the rates? I know it's good to look early, but gosh. :scared1: Cheapest I can find is about $440 for 9 days. Maybe I could ride a bike yeesh.

Being a Dollar Express member, received an email with "specials". Was able to get a mid-size (Toyota Corolla) for five days (weekly rate) for $289 complete, out-the-door price. Will cancel the Alamo reservation as I feel more comfortable with the Dollar one being a "sure thing" and don't need to worry about restrictions.

The rate with Alamo has gone done for our dates - am using the BJ's codes. Feb. 7-14 full-size for $210. Not too bad.

I keep checking and re-booking almost daily with Dollar for February using a combination of corporate and promo codes. Rate has gone down $5-10 for the entire reservation from the prior day in some instances. Worth checking up until the very end. I believe I have shaved off an additional $30 just over the past 5 days. Not a ton of savings, but every little bit counts.

I am utilizing a combo AAA code and the best promo code I can find.

I am booking a week long mid-size for under $160 including taxes and fees in case anyone needs a comparison.

For what days and what promo are you using? I have AAA and dollar express but I don't think I have a promo code.

EDIPM as the promo code for 15% weekly rentals of midsize through premium, and then your local AAA code for the corporate code.

I am looking in the first half of February (not around President's Day/Mardi Gras/Princess Half). I imagine the middle of February is featuring some heftier prices on rentals due to increased visitation to the Orlando area.

That must be it. I'm looking for PHM weekend and the prices are still crazy high. Glad I'm locked in with the National Rate. Still frustrating that it's alomst 80 dollars more than what I paid last year for the same time period.

We're about 3 weeks out from our trip. Anyone having any luck with cheaper rates? So far we have a mid size for 9 days for $268

I had reservations with Alamo for 2 weeks, standard car $ 380 total, kept searching and was able to get Dollar's city special for $ 262 total for a full size car a few days ago.
1/31/15-2/14/15... :cool1: :cool1:

If you have a Costco membership, keep checking the rates. Mine have been dropping everyday for our trip this week (2/5-2/9). The rates started around $210, and are now down to $145 (intermediate car through Avis).

Has anyone ever used the "Puerto Rico Direct" contract ID (211220) with Alamo? I need three one day rentals and this is giving me the best rate. I have been unable to find what the requirements are for the contract ID.

I need a car from
1) MCO to FLL 2/27-2/28
2) FLL to Port Canaveral March 8-8
3) Port Canaveral to MCO March14-15

Using the Puerto Rico Direct ID and the double upgrade coupon, I am getting about $35USD for each of the three days.

Still not having tons of luck reducing my Alamo rate TOTAL of $311 including extra (spouse) driver. Dates are 2/10-18, so we're getting down to it. Anyone else having better luck than I am? I get close but when I factor in the additional driver it bumps it over my total.

BJ's members, too. My rate for 2/7-2/14 with Alamo using the BJ's codes continues to go down.
