My wife and I are looking to go to Disney February of 2013. Does anyone know the best time of the month to go? We also know that there is sometimes free dining in February does anyone know anything about that? We are looking at staying at the art of animation in the standard mermaid room.

Any time there isn't a US holiday :goodvibes I would say beginning of Feb would be good. We go end of Jan and it's great. Low crowds. Value season too.

We went the first week in February this year and had a lovely time. The cheerleading competition is going on at that time but I don't think they'll be staying at AoA and you barely notice them at the parks (at the resort is another story, but again, I doubt they'll be at AoA). The weather was good while we were there, a couple of short rainstorms occurred, but we were never caught in them, we were always coming out of an attraction just after it stopped. It was in the 70s for most of the trip during the day, but got cool in the evenings and the last day was a bit chilly. Pack accordingly and you'll be fine.

If you're looking for the cheapest time to go, try to go before President's Day. January and the first half of February is usually considered value season, with the rates jumping to peak season pricing President's Day weekend and going through Easter. You can usually find discounts during January and part of February since that is a slower time, although those discounts (if offered) won't come out until much later in the year.

they usually post the free dining in aug for jan, feb, and march, Of course it is only for certain days. Hubby and I always work around that and go in early jan or feb, great weather and crowds are low. We went last year Jan 7 and got to see the castle lights for christmas, made my day. I was told by a local there that the lights stay on the castle during the running of the marathon that goes on in early jan.
