DHS Changes

It looks like on most nights:

2/4
2/7
2/11
2/14
2/16 (tuesday)
2/18
2/21
2/25
2/28

They now close at 8:30 instead of 8pm
There are now 2,yes 2, Fanstasmic showings at 7 and 8:30pm.
On 2/14 and 2/15-Sunday and Monday DHS closes at 9pm instead of 8pm.

On 2/15- evening EMH is 9pm-12am now!

Animal Kingdom Hours Changes

2/5, 2/6, 2/7, 2/10: originally 9-5 now 9-6pm. on wed 2/10 evening EMH was 5-8 now it's 6pm-9pm!!!!

2/13: oirginally 9-5pm now 9-7pm

2/14, 2/15,2/16, 2/17: originally 9am-6pm now 9am-8pm. Evening EMH on 2/17 now 8pm-11pm instead of 6pm-9pm.

2/18: was 9am-6pm now 9am-7pm

Epcot Changes

Just to Fridays which had gone to 9-7/11-8pm operation and evening EMH from 8pm-11pm.

now every friday is back to 9-9pm with EMH 9pm-12am.

Cheerleading competitions

On both the weekend of the 5th-7th and the 12-14th, there are Cheerleading/Dance Championships. The competitions are held at both the Wide World of Sports and DHS. At DHS, they use the Indiana Jones Facility. DHS is also typically used as a transportation hub with special buses transporting people to and from the WWoS for the competition. I'm not sure of the total number of people each weekend it adds but 300 teams compete each weekend.

Try and avoid DHS on Saturday for sure and Sunday if you can.

Cheerleaders and families start arriving on Thursday and usually leave Monday or Tuesday.

As Grandma to Cheerleaders I can assure you that they will not be anywhere for rope drop!!! So I will go to EMH on saturday morning and leave for MK before they are outta bed !!!

We're going to be at POP Jan 31-Feb 6th. What kind of impact does anyone think it will have on us?

Have been there during that week and Nadda !! Most of them stay at AllStars !!!Like I said they are not early risers !! Possibly noise at night by the pool and a crowd at the Food courts but had no problems when I was there 2 years ago!!

WOW, I better start paying closer attention! Both of ours are at 5:00.

Yup we will be at the same restaurants but our adrs are later !!!

Hours change alert

I just checked the Walt Disney World website because they often update hours as they get closer to the date and they have!!!!!!

2/7-MK originally 9-9 now 9-10pm with EMH 10pm-1am
2/8-MK originally 9-8pm now 9-9pm
2/13-MK originally 9-11pm now 9am-1am!!!!!!!!
2/14-MK originally 9-11pm now 9-12am with EMH 12am-3am!!!!!!!!!
2/15 and 2/16-MK originally 9-11pm now 9am-12am!!!!!

I think it's going to be busy!!!! I haven't even checked the other parks yet or fireworks schedules or parades additions...

They also changed the spectromagic schedule for the first week of Feb.

Canceled Spectro on Wed 2/3, and added 7pm Spectro on Thurs 2/4
Changed Sat 2/6 spectro from 7pm to 9pm

This of course messes up all my plans and ADR's, since I was trying to get to Spectro on Wednesday night! ArgHHH!!!!

Wow - an extra hour for our MK day and our DHS day. Also - I am so happy about having a second Fantasmic show added! i was worried about the crowds!

On the 13th when MK is open to 1, that's not EMH is it? That's for everyone? As we're offsite so don't get EMH but would loveit being open till 1 hahahhaa

don't they know I have already printed out and laminated my double sided, color coded, 4x6 park hours, days and itinerary cards
OK, I do like the changes so I guess we'll have to go for a reprint

YIKES! the disboards has not updated the Feb hours yet, I printscreen the hours, shrink it to 4x6 and bring it with me , (laminated, color coded etc. )

I know it's a daunting task to keep up with disney changes, but does anyone think they will update it again, on the disboards,, based on the new hours???

Thank you for posting about the changes in the park hours. I had just checked several days ago. I guess it is time to go back through my itenary but to be honest I think other than updating the hours on my schedule I'm just going to leave my park schedule as it is. I'll be at Disney after all and there is nothing I can do about the crowds other than deal with them.

I too have enjoyed you pre-trip report I don't even want to think of how many times I had to wipe down my monitor.

Ouch! I didn't know they Disney changed hours either I am cursing right now because our plan has been set......but I'll be glad when we are there. I have a lot of work to do....back to our ADR's!! Keep the updates coming

My schedule is also taking a beating right now. I believe my husband is going to laugh me out of the house if he sees me working on it again. I think the one line dining may not let me back in; and YES I am cancelling what we will not use.

OT question: We have a res at Chef de France for one night at 9. It is NOT an EMH night. What does WS look like after the park has closed? After dinner can we take a stroll around & just enjoy the atmosphere? We will be staying at BCV so it would be nice to have some alone time.

As anyone that's going to be there president's week started to pack yet?

I want to start packing, but i feel like it's too early. I know that I won't be needing shorts and other things before I go, but I always made a rule for myself is to wait untill 2 weeks before the trip. Just curious as to what everyone else is doing packing wise so far.

I don't know what to pack. We are leaving on the 11th. Taking Amtrak to Charleston to see my Dad. Then we arrive in Orlando on the 14th and leave on the 20th. I think I will just pack Jeans and hoodies. If it gets warm, I will do a little shopping in SC. Pack 4 or 5 jeans and recycle. Just bring xtra shirts and pack hoodies. Got a great fleece jacket from Trip Advisor. Pack that too.

It is going to be packed. Glad they extended the hours but I don't see myself staying at MK until 3am. Glad they added xtra Fantasmic shows too. Guess I will still pack bathing suits. This is going to be so much fun.
