15 days!!!!!!!!!! We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow!

In you opinion, is getting the photopass ahead of time worth it?? I sort of regret not buying any photos from our DL trip last year b/c they were so expensive. Is it worth getting it though since we'll have soooooooo many digital photos from our own??? $100 is still kind'a high when we have so many pics already. Opinions, opinions!!!!

Lori

Lori,
I was wondering the same thing. I got the email last night for 20% off which still makes it $99, but wondered if I would get that many photos on it. Have you check out the thread about sharing the cost of the photo pass on the budget board? I don't know if it filled up yet or not, but that's another thought although you will have others pictures too. I can't wait, 13 more days.:cool1:

I want to start packing, but just don't know what to pack. I hate overpacking, which is what I normally do.
Sharon

hey Sharon, I have seen those but I think if I do it I will get my own and possibly split it with my DB and SIL. But they are not sure about it either. I may just suck it up and get it since i did regret not getting our DL photos-yes, the only ones of me and him together unless we took a goofy one of ourselves!!

I hate over packing too. I have all these meds and hate not to bring them , but we usually never use them-PLUS I ahve small containers to put some in my backpack for in the parks. PLUS we are going at a crazy weather time of year so we really have to pack layers-lt jackets and bathing suits too!

13 days till we leave!!!

I think it all depends on how many pictures you take. There is a photopass share thread I believe on the budget board.

Is anyone else not receiving e-mail notifications of new replies on their subscribed threads? It's really bugging me!

Can't answer for your kids but Spectro is awesome , all the day time parades can't compare The floats are beautiful some change from clear lights to colored and even the people have lights!

ITA, Lori the parades are great, especially Spectro! The AK parade was ehhh for us. Once was enough.

Wendypooh-we have BIRTHDAYS coming up !!! Not that we need reminders of it! I guess I am excited to be in WDW for it this time though!!

Lori

We do indeed!!! ;) I'm so excited!! I've got my slipper ordered for Cindy's and I got the diver / menu from CR for my b-day - even though it won't be on my actual b-day. Cindy's will be my (our) actual b-day!!!! And you know the P&PP is in honor of my big 40!!! LOL I think both us spending our b-days at Disney is super great!!! I've spent the last 4 or 5 b-days at Disney, it's almost tradition now!!! LOL

I can hardly wait - DS is off today and monday, so we are going through what we'll bring for him - he's got a pile as tall as the castle!!! I'm gonna have to wittle it down a bit!!!

Lori, I like Photopass and get the CD ahead of time. It's the only way for me to get pics of all 5 of us together, and the character pictures always turn out better. Also, they'll put the ones on it from Character meals which means no buying a print there at the restaurant. And they'll be SO many unique characters out for the P&PP that I think the CD will be a fantastic buy. I'll probably take more than we usually do since I know it's paid for.

Oh, and we may get another 1-3" of snow tomorrow night and Saturday! Had a teacher staff meeting and dinner tonight, and it was a MARDI GRAS THEME! I smiled and thought of all my Feb friends. They even gave me a goofy Mardi Gras headband with jester points and bells to wear at the MK. So I'm ready to go now!

LOL - I got beads to bring too!!!!! ;)

We live in Mandeville and often watch the MG parades on both the Southshore and Northshore. I keep reading about how great Spectro is at Mk. Do you think my kids (ages 4, 6, 8 & 12) will like it or will they be bored/disappointed b/c they are not throwing anything?

I have never seen Spectro so I would love to hear from the experts!
Hi! I'm from Mandeville too! Good to see you neighbor! :yay:

I think Spectro would be worth it even for a seasoned Mardi Gras veteran. It's really pretty with all the lights! It will probably be the one parade that we will sit and wait for. I think it's cooler than the electric light parade. If you search on YouTube you can see several video clips to give you an idea of what to expect.

For the photopass question: I think we are doing a photopass share. It's just two of us - so it doesn't seem worth it to buy a whole CD for just us. But it's also the only way we can get pictures together!

Regarding Photpass: remember that you can always get the Photopass photographer to take a picture with your camera as well, so you will be able to get shots with your whole family in it this way. Also as I understand it, you can get a refund from your prepurchased Photpass CD if after the trip you decide the pictures you got haven't been worth it.

Since everyone's talking about the photopass CD, I'll throw in my questions:

1. How many pictures do they take? We'll be there for 5 days. I'm worried that I'll pay the $100 and end up with 10 crummy pictures.

2. Are the pictures exceptionally high quality?

3. Will the photopass photographers take our picture with our camera? Then we wouldn't need to buy their CD.

4. Do they have those automatic cameras that take pictures during rides? Are those included on the CD?

What is the Diver Menu? A co worker is going and her son turns 16 while in Disney. Can you fill me in on all the details??

If you are dining at Coral Reef (you must have an ADR and they will ask for the resv. # and date) they have a diver come down and hold up a sign for you. They will also personalize a menu for you. They will put whatever you want on the menu as well as pics. ( I sent in 3 pics and it's going to say I'm celebrating my 40th).

This service is free as of now, but, I've heard rumors it is going to be changed or stopped. I don't know for sure, but they are still doing it in Feb. Also, be advised, Debbi said that they do not always have the divers avail. to do this. (our ADR is for 5:40 pm on a tues.)

You would need to call Coral Reef and leave a message for Debbi or Reginald.

Good Luck

Here is someone's experience - the entire thread is below!
just thought I would share my sign experience!

Back in June DBF suggested that we start saving for a trip to Disney to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (all part of his plan). We went down early Nov 4 thru Nov 9 (our annverisary is Nov 29) since I work retail that would be the closest we could go.

Anywho I heard about the Coral Reef personalized menus and divers. Well I schedule to have this done as a annverisary gift to DBF. So I sent in photos and lyrics to our song "sh-boom" for the menu and had a saying for a sign made. So we get there and the place is just beautiful and amazing. When we get there we are seated right next to the tank, were the gaint sea turtle happens to be sleeping. Our waitress gave us our special menus which Jacob is suprised by. While we wait for our food, DBF ask me questions about the divers becuse I had told him about them before the trip; not wanting to give to much away I play dumb. I am excited to see Jacob's face waiting to see the diver. Finally I see the diver hop in, he swims towards us then swims away. The diver playful hids from us, Jake said the diver was getting everyone's attention and pointing towards us but I could not see him (diver). Finally he comes to us and pulls out his sign which reads "Savannah I love you" and everyone in the restaurant says who is savannah? & I am thinking thats NOT my sign...wait a second I am Savannah. Then the diver flips the sign which reads "Will you Marry me?" DBF then get down on his knee and proposes. I start crying and of course I said yes. Everyone in the restaurant cheered and the diver tossed the shells in the tank. It was truly romantic and magical. So I tired to suprise DBF but in the end he really suprised me.

Anywho we all know I am such a photo nerd but alas I was so shocked from the proposal I have no photos of it. I have before and after. The waitress tried to take a photo but the camera option slip to video so I have like a 1 second clip.

Floss is correct - they will take your pic using your own camera so that your entire family can be in the pic. We've had them do this a million times. In my opinion the photopass is NOT worth it!!!! But, to each his own!!

I stopped getting the email notifications a couple of days ago. Now I just go to the website and check to see how much I missed.
