FEBRUARY 2008 WDW travelers post HERE!!!

Thanks BaciBecky! Your information helps a lot. Since we don't like to pull our kids out of school, we are left with the busy times at WDW. Being used to going to Disneyland (we're from California), we've found summer to be too hot and too crowded, Easter week to be better weather-wise, but still very crowded, and President's week to be so-so on weather, and the least crowded of the three (though still quite busy). Hopefully it will be the same in Disney World.

Anyone else getting bored with waiting for the 2008 rates to come out? The suspense is making me crazy...

For those of you with a bit more experience...when the next years rates finally come out, how do you find out about it? Does Disney send e-mails, or is it on allearsnet, or do you find out through disboards? I am hoping that the news will find me, somehow, since I'm not checking the Disney website on a daily basis.

Thanks!

werfamily, you're welcome! Glad it helped!

Ahh, DL is forever my favorite - first visited when I was 8, just 2 yrs after it opened :) DL only means the MK to me, California Adventure does not compute!! LOL

Anyway, I think you will find WDW to be about the same crowd wise during Presidents Week - loads of schools in the Northeast are on winter break so that is where a lot of the crowds come from.....but....I have always found DL to be more crowded than WDW - so am thinking WDW crowds will feel tolerable/normal for your family! :)

Hope you have an absolutely magical trip!!:flower3:

Hey I am going to go through this thread and put when everyone is going and where(if you said). Be patient with me though!!
Anyone leaving on Feb 1st can book 180 days out NEXT SUNDAY!!!!

So when is the best time to go in FEB. or March? The least crowded? We are very flexable and just want to go when it is not so busy.

Wow, things sure have been quiet lately. I am hoping this is the calm before the storm. The CODE storm that is :)

I too am getting bored waiting for those codes.

We have found the best time to go is the week of so before President's day
( Jan 25th - Feb 1st ) I've also heard that Mid to Late Sepember is a good time to go.

Can't wait for Aug 13th so I can start booking my ADRs!!!! We're going Feb 8-22, and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!! This is the longest trip we have ever taken as a family. I'm hoping to get ADR at California Grill for our anniversary. YUMMMMMMM.....

Also hoping for P&PP dates while we're there:)))))

That's great Lori! Thanks for doing this. I can't recall if I said, so...

We are going Feb 2-9 and we're staying at the Poly! :) I am sooo excited. I've stayed offsite and at the POFQ, this time we're going deluxe baby! :)

Hi ,Thanks Lori! We will be in WDW 2/13-2/24/08. I have BCV for 2/17-22(Sun.-Fri. we are DVC owners) for now. I am waiting to see if there are any AP discounts 2/13-17. And then try to decide on if to use points for the weekend or not?? My DH is retired military so we have an option of SOG also. I am also :surfweb: waiting for SWA to release the Feb dates from PVD to MCO. I need to check my date for making ADRS! Joan

I keep calling - they keep pushing the date further away!!! I need to take time off from work and make flight plans! This is taking WAY too long. I hope the prices don't go up too much.... I put money down for Feb.9th thru 19th.

we are going feb. 2nd~8th 2008...do we have to be booked for our vacation in order to make ADR's...i am waiting on the codes to come out...i can start making reservations aug 6th...

I'm pretty sure that you do not have to be booked to make ADR's. Otherwise...people staying offsite would not be able to book ADR's. Maybe someone who has stayed offsite before can confirm.

We'll be there February 17-23 :cool1: . Booked airline tickets last week, and now all we need are the WDW 2008 rates.

Something you may all know already, but I didn't realize that when you stay on property, you can actually book 190 days out. So we are going Jan 25 to Feb 2nd. Last night I called, and was able to make all of our ADR's for all 9 days. They CM said she wished she has a dollar for every person who asked her "when are the codes coming out?" She said "people actaully call in and ask just that question." I wanted to say to her " DUH!! " And I am one of those people!!!

Anyhow... glad to have all 9 events booked !

when making ADR's are they specific about how many in your group? dh's cousin is now not sure if they will be making the trip with us as they are not sure if they will have the money for the trip now...so if i go ahead and make my ADR's is there any possible way i can add more people to my reservations? or should i just go ahead and make it for all of us and if they are not going call ADR's back and cancel their family? i hope this makes sense to everyone...

this is our first family trip and i just want everything to go well...

Okay, so we're planning on being there from 2/6 to 2/13 :). Now:
1) Crowds? Great? Okay? I don't think it'll be THAT busy since it's before President's week, but I just spent the last 1/2 hour reading ALL the posts up until now:surfweb: , and I just want to make sure!
2)Booking room only: If I call CRO and book my hotel (POR baby!), how much will they charge me? Money is really tight right now (we are coming into some money in the next few months, otherwise, Disney would continue to be a dream!), so the less I have to pay the better! (Which is why I still haven't booked it and why I still haven't purchased any airline tickets!)
)TGM: Necessary? I used him for a short trip a few years ago and I remember liking what he had to share, but it was a busier time of year. I'd subscribe again if most of you think it'll be helpful.

Okay- that's it for now! (thanks:love: )

When we booked our room-only reservation, we just had to pay for one night of the room.

Also, what's TGM? I've seen that mentioned before, but I have no clue what it is!

Thanks!
