I just filled out the form on AAA's site to get a quote for a Disney trip in February. I'm interested to see what they'll have to say.

We went to Disney this past April...is there a good chance that we'll get a code in the mail? or are they totally random? Not sure if there's a better chance of getting one if you recently went or not?

Please let me know what info you get back from AAA. I did the same thing but the TA said she could not give us a package quote until the 2008 rates come out (August, maybe). What resort have you picked?

I have not gotten a code in the mail for quite a few years now - and this will be our 21st trip. We have a Disney Visa, but that has not seemed to generate any code. We are also registered on the the Disney website....I guess it must be random.

I got a response from AAA...

Thank you for your 2008 Disney Travel Request.

At this time, Disney has their availability and pricing for their 2007 packages only. Disney hopes to have their 2008 prices/availability out this summer. Please re-submit your request to us early August. We hope to have a better idea then when Disney will be ready.

So looks like I have to check back in early August!

Just wanted to post that others on this board have spoken with Disney reps and received information that the 2008 rates should be released on August 5th.

I'm not sure...but, I think AAA usually releases their rates for the Disney resorts around the same time. That would also go along with the post by WETWHISTLE about AAA asking to resubmit the reservation request in early August.

Yay!!! Finally at least there is an actual date they are giving out .. Looks like next Sunday we will be able to FINALLY book packages and we can go on to waiting for the discount codes

Yikes... add me to the codewatch, I guess. I was trying to book just a one-night stay at POP after our cruise, so we can spend the day at Epcot, but they quoted me $92 for a standard room!! That's insane for a value, and what we usually pay for a moderate. C'mon, AAA rates!!

We are planning a trip from Feb7th-13th of 08 and I was wondering how do the codes work and how can I get an affordable room with 2 adults and three children and not pay an arm and a leg for some place I don't plan to be at much. New to this site, but am finding it to be very helpful...

Our travel dates for our annual "winter" trip will be sometime in early-mid February this year. We haven't booked anything just yet (need to iron out some details first) but I'll definitely be watching (and hoping) for codes!

Woohoo! I just booked with Disney a room only. February 22rd to March 2rd.

it's 119$ each night at POP.

The CM told me to call back for the 2008 rate in a month. I hope they will go out sooner.

What percentage discount is considered good? I know the rack rates for the rooms, but how low can we expect them to go? Our family would be happy in any of the deluxes, and we are AAA members. Does anyone have a ballpark guess of what we might be paying for a room in Feb? So hard to plan when all we have to go by is the rack rates.

Presidents Week is high season and very busy, so the best you will probably do is with a AAA rate - about 15% less than rack (maybe 10% depending on the season). Might want to book with a good Disney Specialist Travel Agent, like Dreams Unlimited or one recommended on the www.allearsnet.com site. This way they can keep a lookout for lower rates and make an adjustment for you.

Also, check www.mousesavers.com for rates during different seasons for the last few years. That will give you an idea of how it tends to go.

If you are going long enough it might be worth considering one adult AP - sometimes the discounts can be up to 30-40% for a deluxe. Mousesavers will have the historical info for those rates as well. You can also read about AP's and see if it would be worth it.
