Hi everyone,

I am waiting for Southwest to open bookings for February and WDW to take reservations for after cruise stay. I do have my pre cruise hotel booked. Other than that I do not have much to do. We are not planning any excursions, so nothing to do for that. I do have to print my door magnets, and get the FE.

My son is just finishing Grade 2 and a journal came home today from school with this entry that he had written. Thought you all would like it:

"If I could go anywhere in the world it would be Castaway Key. It is a island near the Caribbien islands. The disney cruse ships dock there. There is a new water slide park called Pelacan plonge. You can swim with the stingrays. You can collect lots of shells. There is a beach. You can go scouba diving."

Can't wait for all the fun!!

It's still there for me I tried going to it once and got error, refreshed it and it came up.

If anyone else can't get to it try doing that to, if not I don't know what to do, but I can get info send it to someone else to put somewhere I'm not good at doing these list things

we booked our flights out of boston on delta the day they came out and got a good deal looking at the prices now. We are going down early staying at the dolphin.( we have never been there we always stay at WL ) and after the cruise staying for a few days at the swan. figured we would try something new given MK renovations going on during that time we may not spend so much time at that park. anyone stayed at these two hotels.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy fourth of July. I am little sad that my family just left me and I have to work - but then I must feed our Disney habit - LOL.

Right with you waiting for SWA to open up. They opened up through Jan 2011 last month so we will probably have to wait another few months for flights to open. We can't wait for the Disney Dream too

I think that my daughter would love to do the FE. I tried the link but could not get it to work. What is involved? How do you join the group? Some of you said you do shore trips. Are they worth it? What would you avoid doing or recommend doing? So far just working on paying off cruise and hotel before we leave. Ps you said you stayed at the swan and dolphin. Is one better than another? How do you get the cool door magnets i see people post? Does someone make them or do I have to do it myself. Not very computer savy yet but getting better.

We rarely take any excursions, Atlantis is interesting and the beaches are really nice(though the water is a little chilly in Feb.) in the Bahamas, there is not that much of interest for me in Nassau, but everyone has different interests, look at the available excursions on the DCL web site and see if anything interests you. This trip I will probably just spend on board enjoying the ship. Castaway Cay is well worth exploring and enjoying.

The Swan and Dolphin are very similar and nice places to stay,they are not Disney hotels but have most of the same perks, only the Dolphin has a quick service restaurant. It is a great location and an easy walk or boat ride to Hollywood Studios and the back entrance to Epcot(rarely any lines) and it is right by Boardwalk and the Yacht and Beach Clubs so there are many eating options. If you are taking DCL transportation make sure it is still available from here, we last used it from the Swan in Feb. 2009, I think I read they closed the cruise line desks since then but I might be wrong.

There is a long thread on door magnets and there are people who will add your names and other information to their designs, you them can print them out on magnetic paper. You can also design them using Print Shop or some similar program.

I was told no the bus does not run from our hotel and we would have to walk to Boardwalk. Do you think that is do able? Disney seems to think so. We have been to wdw many times but only 2 to boardwalk to eat and did not pay attention to locations and distances.:

You can do gifts how ever you want, most times each room gets a gift, but sometime that changes if the group is larger, this group is a smaller one.

For gifts you can do it a couple different ways
-One gift per room. (Example: When my dad and I did the FE in December 2009 someone made a wreath for each cabin doing the FE)
-Gift for everyone in the room(Example: In 2008 when we did a cruise some one gave each person in all the rooms a small box of baked bean candy, so for my dad and I it was two boxes)
-Different gift for Adults and Different Gift for Kids(Example: December 2009 some one gave all the Adults in the room a small bottle of alcohol and other stuff in pens, pencils, for kid)

there are other ways you can do it, but these are just someways, there is a thread about what people have done on the Disboards

Hey!! Just checkin' in. Leaving in 10 days with my boys for OKW and then I can start planning our DCL trip. So looking forward to it. I have been working like crazy!!!!!

Does anyone else have ideas for FE and how many cabins are in it?
