February 18, 2006 Magic - Who's Onboard? Roll Call post #156

Hi everyone on the Feb. 18th roll call.

FYI, we received our documents today via UPS.

Can't believe the trip is only three weeks away!! It has been a long time coming!! We booked in September 2004!!

See you on the ship.

Let's hope for good weather and smooth sailing! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I spoke with our travel agent today and she said that our docs won't be here until monday or tuesday :sad2: . Looking forward to the sun and some quiet time. I am really talking up the oceaneers club to my ds 3 and ds 6 (hoping they want to stay in there all of the time. :cool1: We only booked one excursion and that was the altantis submarine ride. We couldn't book thru disney b/c our one DS isn't 4 yet. He meets the height requirements and they were so helpful in booking us. Have any of you been on this before?

3 weeks I still cant believe it we booked early too Nov 2004, seems like forever ago, but it went really fast. never been on the Atlantis thing but I know what you mean about having a tall child my four year is 4 feet tall LOL, just got measured at school yesterday. IF they make him stay with 3-4's he will stand out LOL. he will be five in June but I am going to talk to the CM's about trying him with the older kids as his does better at school with the bigger kids too. Off to buy standard medicines for the trip tomorrow... LOL and my tan looks good already too, yeah I cheat.

Sounds like the DOC dance is beginning with everyone...

we got our stateroom assignment 5637... its a CAT 11 (what we booked) so no split bath... but I am excited about the location... it's midship, so now no worrying about elevators.. can take stairs everywhere if we want.

I have just been spoiled because on my two December cruises we had verandahs...

still really excited about our location.. Deck 5 is great for getting to dinner and shows.. since you can take the stairs. That is the time the elevators are super busy...so will be good to just run down the stairs.

Congrats to all who've received their documents! :Pinkbounc

I'm sooooo jealous and still waiting for mine...UPS, are ya listening? :rolleyes1

LOL, everyone keeps asking me about the man with the horse. I am a big fan of author James Herriot, the English veterinarian. It's him (I don't know if it's charcoal or not). paw:

You gotta love the Dis. The other day I got an email from another Dis-er who lives in James Herriot's hometown in Yorkshire and happens to take his cat to the current day veterinary practice that was owned by Mr. Herriot during his lifetime. As a special treat he included a copy of an article he'd written for the hometown newspaper about his day at the vet's with his cat!! :goodvibes :rotfl: :disrocks:

Hey, Shelly, see my second tag! :teeth: We also have a Cat 11 (after being spoiled by a verandah last time) but the friends we're cruising with (the mykel mouse family) are right across the hall in a verandah room. ;)

NO Doc's here yet either ... wife made me cancell all excursions last night she just wants to go it on our own as I had planed all along .... now that we are getting closer lets hope that the seas are calm the sun is strong and the drinks are stronger

Working on my first door magnets now anyone else doing this ?

I have read people are starting to get there documents. I am starting to get concerned.

This is our first cruise, and if there is any kind of medical form that has to be filled in and sent back for everyone, it may be a problem. Is there anything like this that is needed?

Lazeric

Dont worry the documents are turned in at the port the day we cruise all the info needed come in little books for each cruiser and you dont have to send anything in early ..... It seems the floridians have got there docs but they are in florida the rest of us should start gettting them sometime over the next few weeks ... If you dont have them a week before the cruise call DCL and they will overnight them to you ... but there should be no cause for concern yet ...

pirate::dancer:doing the Rhode Island DOC DANCE :dancer: pirate:

was nice to see them by the door when I got home ... I do like the package I got last year better but I am not complaining

I came back from my business trip today to see the docs waiting for me! My family was kind enough to wait for me to open them! Not sure that I want to go back on a plane after the 14 hr ride but this time I'll have family sitting next to me instead of strangers!!
:cheer2:

I am sooooo jealous. No docs yet, but I will be patient. I am sure that they will come soon. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that homeland security took all of our mailboxes off the street due to SBXL? :rotfl2:

Two sets of Rhode Island cruisers getting their docs before little ol' me in NC? :confused3

That silly Document Fairy! :tink: Seems she's got her geography confused! :p

welcome home triggs .... hope you were somewhere warmer on your trip business or not ....

Sure, I've definitely heard of him...All Creatures Great and Small etc... always heard good things about his books... just never got around to reading them and what great timing too, I've been looking for a good book (or two) to read on the cruise and looks like I just found it! :teeth:

Anybody else have any good book recommendations? And yes, I know what you're thinking...who has time to read when there's so much fun stuff to do on a Disney cruise! :p

Since I am a first time Dis cruiser (actually a I have never taken a cruise). What are door magnets? :confused3

Burma..thanks for the info on the docs, and you are so lucky. I am a huge planner at work, and not having things way ahead of time, kind of stresses me out. I am thinking that maybe next week we will get them..we booked through AAA, and most likely they will look at them first to see if ok.

Happy to hear that they have reached RI though..hopefully soon to your neighbor state up north

Eric

P.S. How is the family?

Heidibauer ... door magnets will be a first for me as this is only our second cruise but there is a thread on them if you look around .... you can tell most people form the Disboard put these on their doors ... was an interesting Idea and I think our kids will enjoy it ...Im trying we will see how it all comes out ....

Lazeric .... I assume you are in Mass? Family is good everyone is looking forward to getting out of here ... I too like to plan a bit and was a bit stressed out because I had not bought plane tickets until yesterday.... been watching the prices a bit .... or a bit too long .... never the less we seem to have all our arrangements made ... staying at the Raddison the night before ... Southern elegance from MCO to Raddison and from the Port back to a Hotel in downtown Disney for the night .... and back north on Sunday .... phew what else is there to do but just kick back and wait for the DIS meet at 3pm on the 18th ....
