I hope this is the right place/way to start this thread, I'm too excited to wait any longer :).

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

Have a great cruise!

This is our first Disney cruise and I'm new to these forums so hope I'm doing this right :)

We are super super excited!

Hey, Hi, Vulchie :), welcome to the forum for the 5-night Wonder cruise out of Miami (Feb 16 - 21, 2013) to Cozumel and Castaway Cay, I am very excited.

As you can probably tell from my signature add-ons, we've just had our first Disney cruise last month and could hardly wait to book another one!:goodvibes

If you want to change the title of your meets thread click on Edit and then click on Go Advanced and you can change it. But, the title of your thread doesn't have to be the same as what is listed on the DCL website.

This will be our second Disney Cruise as well. We first sailed on the Disney Dream in 2011 and I heard about the fish extenders too late in the game to get involved. I don't know how it gets organized, but I would love to participate on this cruise!

What are everyone's plans for the day in Cozumel? Any suggestions? (We have two kids, age 6 and 3).

Hi again :), it looks like so far it's just us, but since it's still pretty early, I'm sure that will change.

Usually someome from the group volunteers to set up the FE and/or meet-&-greet(s). On my previous cruise, we ended up taking the group to Facebook, and found it was more active there than here. (A lot of us, me included, find Facebook easier to use than the DISboards, but if I have that stupid Timeline forced onto me, I might change my mind lol.) By that time, there were at least a dozen families already. I started to set up a group list, but then I got too busy IRL and luckily someone else stepped in. She knows more about computers than I do, and she set up a google document spreadsheet so people could sign in for either the FE or the M+G (or both). Eventually, there were 95 people (adults and kids) and we decided to split the FE into 2 groups. We sail kidless, and it turned out that there were 6 other kidless cruisers too, so we had the kidless & kids aged 8 and up group, and the other group was all families with kids 7 and younger. It worked out nicely.

We also had 2 meet-&-greets; one on embarkation day, and another later in the week. I think if we'd set them both up before the cruise, they might've been better attended.

I started to look at the port excursions for Cozumel, and there were a few that sound interesting, but the one that really piqued my interest is the culinary workshop/tasting. I just don't know if I'd be able to stand for the hour it says it takes tsk :(.

Well, I would be happy to organize the FE gifts or help someone organize them if no one comes along who wants to do it themselves. I was looking at the fish extender gift photo thread and I can't believe how many ideas there are. OR how many pages you have to wade through to find them! I might collect the ideas and post them separately somewhere so that other people can just find the good stuff easily :).

It does look like there are just 3 of us so far. I am really excited to see the list grow.

If I didn't have little kids in tow, I would love the cooking class. If you take it you will have to share what you learn!

just booked our second cruise!!!! went on the Dream last month and only complaint was it was too short thats why this time we are doing the Wonder in 5 nights!!! hope we wont be dissappointed after
being on the Dream!!!!

By my count there are now 4 of us: vulchie, mom3girls2000, ptmmg and me (nchristeutah).

We went on the Dream last year and I admit I was a little concerned that we might not like the Wonder as much. But after talking to my cousin who has done SO many Disney cruises, I think it will be great. Because the ship is smaller he says it just feels a little more intimate and his family doesn't get as overwhelmed by the crowds. On Castaway Cay there is more space to move around with less people. And even though it is missing some of the fun features of the newer ships, it has a charm all its own.

Here's hoping we all just love it!

Wel 4 of us are easy enough to organize LOL, and we wouldn't have to split the group either ;). But I know more people will join. And surprisingly (to me, anyway) some will drop out, due to changing plans for various reasons. But we will grow, I know it :)!

I remember finding the forum for homemade FE gifts, it took me WEEKS to go through it! I think a read-only forum would be GREAT for either of those topics, then if someone really needed to ask a question they could PM the creator. Perhaps someone could write an article answering all the questions people ask, since there seems to be a lot of the same questions for different projects ...

Well I have to build up my stamina for excursions. Dh and I are starting a walking plan (since spring finally seems to have taken root in Philadelphia) starting tonight. We can take the dog out as an excuse lol.

Hopefully if we do that, they'll allow videotaping, and dh can handle that, then we could post it online for everyone, how cool would that be?

We're joining you, too. This will be our 2nd Disney cruise. We cruised last year on the dream (thru a hurricane-so we missed castaway cay) We did enjoy the rest of our cruise but it was only a 3 night, so we wanted something a bit longer. We also did the fish extender. I actually made my own (the kids helped) so if an extender gets going, count us in.:thumbsup2
By the way, WE are, Toniann, Wayne, and our 3 kids- Joseph (12):darth:, Paige (10):dogdance:, and Tori (8):Pinkbounc.

It would be great if they would allow you to video tape it and you could share it! Although I wonder if they would prohibit it for that very reason. :)

I hear you on the walking. I lost a little bit of weight for our last Disney Cruise. And now I really want to get most of the rest of the weight off before this one. There is plenty of time but the question is do I have plenty of will power? Walking is a perfect way to go at it because it helps with stamina as well. And if I can control what goes in my mouth on top of that I just might be successful.

Hi, Toniann, the more the merrier :).

I made our FE too (only the 19yo lives at home and she didn't care to help lol), but it will be usable for more cruises.

We've only cruised once so far, on the Magic a month ago, the 7-night Easter Caribbean, with St. Martin, St. Thomas, and Castaway Cay (which was my favorite by far). We have a home in FL and like the savings on airfare when sailing out of FL; Miami will be new to us.

I have to hold off on my excitement about the cruise and focus on my oldest dd (26yo) and her upcoming wedding - April 12th - yikes! It's my job to do the programs and seating cards!

We are joining you too! We are doing the b2b! It will be me, DW (Lisa), DH (Geoff), DD6 (Emma) and DS4 (Logan). We booked the Panama, but just couldn't make the dates work with DH's job. Oh well! This will be a fun one too! Plus, we've never done a B2B before.

Count us in for the FE exchange! My kids love it!

Woo hoo, welcome to our board :)! This is going to be one rockin' cruise:banana:!

So nice to see more people joining! Does everyone want to participate in a fish extenders group?
