February 15th, 2014 Fantasy - Western

Yes! We booked our JetBlu return today! We are flying down the 12th so we managed to book our flight down last month but had to wait till today to get the return. Now we are set!:yay:

We booked our flights too! Yeah!! Now it seems real. Our only issue is that our flights should be paid for by our American Express points and their system is down.....cross your fingers for us that it works out on Monday when my husband calls; it would be nice to have this 'paid for' by points and not cash since there are five plane tickets.

For those of you looking to fly air tran/southwest out of dtw, flight schedule is open and depending on your flight choice, tickets are as cheap as ~300/person.

seeming a lil more real now....

I am a big beer fan amd love meeting others that enjoy good craft beer. Is anyone on this cruise interested in doing a bottle share one of our days at sea? We can all bring some tasty local favorites and meet up somewhere to crack open a few and chat. Let me know if you are interested. I live in San Diego and have many amazing local breweries to choose from

I booked our flight the other day! We are flying out of SFO, non-stops just over $400, seemed not too bad...I usually prefer virgin but didn't want to wait since the fares were lower than I'd seen for good flights

We are going out of SFO too! We are leaving the Wednesday before to go to the parks for two days. We will be missing Virgin airlines too. :(

How much did you get your tickets for? We're leaving Friday as I didn't want the kids to miss more than a day of school (they have the week of the cruise off). We'll go home Sunday night, not sure what we'll do Saturday and Sunday yet

I am feeling a little guilty about taking the kids out of school for three days since the oldest child is in 8th grade, we have the week of February 15th off too, but its just all too much money to get over there to not stay for more days. Our kids go to private school, so even though it is frowned upon, there won't be any additional repercussions. And, as an educator myself, as long as the children are doing well in school (they have all scored in the past in the 95% percentile or higher in standardized tests), I don't believe its going to harm them to miss a few days. Family time is important too. :)

I think our tickets were 395 a piece. I will check when my husband gets home from his work trip. I wasn't paying too much attention to that part. I know we are saving 400 ish additional dollars by flying home on Sunday instead of Saturday. And thank goodness, our points from our credit card will pick up the whole cost for the five of us.:cool1: Contemplating going an additional day to the parks on Saturday but since I don't know how we will be feeling, we may leave it up in the air.

No judgement! :) Lots of people takes kids out of school for trips. Wish we had more time to go to DW, not sure if we will or not

Going away to a different country can be an education in itself. If you have an opportunity have them complete the international passport at Epcot. I do one every visit with or without my kids.

We are leaving on Fiday from JFK but my daughter will be a high school sophmore in September.

My kids are also missing some school as we are flying Wednesday. From Great Falls, Montana our day will start at 5 and not into Orlando till 6. Without a couple days kids would be dragging. Makes holiday so much more enjoyable, in my opinion.

We are pulling out our girls for two days as well in order to go to WDW. We have the cruise week off. We don't want to take them out for longer anymore..our oldest is going into 8th and is in accelerated math and science. She does do well in school though. We are figuring the days prior to winter break won't be too difficult to miss. Our 5th grader will be missing a Valentine's party, though she isn't overly heart broken over that (no pun intended!) ;)

Was anyone on here thinking about doing fish extenders on the cruise? Sounds like an awesome idea.

I would love to join in to a fish extender exchange!!!
I am so excited that more of our family members have decided to cruise along.
My Dad will be coming along with my little sis and her family. We will now be a group of 13!!!!

13 members of your family is great. My family never commits to vacation plans.
Mine never has in the past. But this cruise is for my DD sweet 16, she is a mentally and physically disable young lady who has had a very challenging life. It is a HUGE celebration for her to be 16!!!
It will be a little bitter sweet, My Mom just past away in June and we will really be missing a very important part of our family....

That's awesome! 16 is a huge milestone for any young lady. I lost my mom when I was 25 and 20 years later I still miss her. But you realize how much she actually imparted and impacted your life and you smile a bit. We will remember to bring a birthday card. This cruise is going to be great.

Hi All!
My family and I are cruising with you all! And we're so excited, well me and DP are, the kids have no idea yet. It will be a Christmas/Bday gift.
We will be coming to Florida a bit early to enjoy a couple days at the parks, as its such a long trip for us (from Seattle, WA area). We're staying at the Art of Animation and hoping to do two days in the parks, and one day at a Waterpark/DTD.
We have cruised once before on the Wonder to Mexico out of Long Beach, CA, so this will be a whole new experience for us. I have a MILLION questions, but will try to find answers before asking. I have been reading the boards as a guest for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and join.
If there is a FE group being set up, my family and I would very much like to join.
I look forward to getting to know everyone better and REALLY look forward to our cruise. How many days left now?! ;)

I agree this will be a FANTASTIC cruise!!! I really never realized how I called my Mom for EVERYTHING. This was suppose to be a year filled with celebrations for her aug 7th would have been her 70th birthday and sept 7 my parents would have celebrated thier 50th wedding anniversary.
