does any one know much about the scuba diving? As I am not a very good swimmer I am a little concerned about trying to do this, but I would love to try. Is there a beginners group or do you need to be a good swimmer

Daleh, do you mean "scuba" or "snorkel"? To scuba, you have to be "scuba certified", which is pretty involved. Our Community Ed. classes have SCUBA every once in awhile. Snorkeling is something most people can do. Like even me, pregnant, last cruise. My boys, then 10 & 12, also did fine. The tricky part (for me, anyway!) is not tipping the snorkel-y part into the water behind you. They make you wear a life jacket, as well. I think just about everywhere, well I guess I only know about Castaway Cay & Cozumel. Snorkeling at CC was cool. You just waded in & started. If you snorkel on an excursion somehwere else, it usually involves getting off & on a boat (usually via ladder) or off croppy rocky areas (also usually with a ladder). Just my 2 cents, hope that helps!

I am super excited!! Not much longer and we will be on the boat. It’s snowing here today and it makes me want to be there more. I think I will work on packing this weekend. I always take too much, so hope to get that started so I can really think what I need.
I also just scored 30 Camp Rock/Jonas Brothers magnets to add to the goody bags for everyone!! I had thought they were all gone, but found some left in the closet. I hope it’s okay that I am just getting kid stuff, tattoos, stickers, and magnets. I am trying to have enough for each kid, so 30ish of each thing. I still have to find bags or something to keep everything in.
I am so ready to go. I just requested the time off and it was approved. (I knew it would be) but yeah for one more thing done.
Now need to work on excursions. DH wants to scuba diver, he is certified, but don’t even know where to start with that. I would be happy just staying on the ship all week, but that’s what we did last time, with just quick trips off the boat.
So excited to see everyone! Did we decide on a meeting place for Tuesday yet?

My dd8 will be so excited about the jo-bro gifties, she's a big fan.

Under 2 Flags Island Tour at St Maarten
Snorkel Lagoon Equipment Rental at Castaway Cay
Skyride to Paradise Point at St Thomas

we are also signed up for the under 2 flags tour on st maarten
we will rent bikes on castaway cay but will purchase them that day. the bikes are a lot of fun. not sure about st thomas or st john have not made my mind up yet what to do.

Does anyone use Spacebags? Kelly Rippa always says how great they are, so I picked up some Target-brand ones today. Any suggestions? I plan on mixing and matching (i.e. "re-using") outfit pieces, so I don't think each outfit in individual baggies would work for us. I think somebody on the "best tips" thread mentioned that one.

We leave on Feb. 10th and will be at the Embassy Suites LBV until the 14th. We will be at the World W, Th, Fr. I haven't made one dinner ressie or anything this time! Totally winging it there. Might be liberating for "Super Planner" me!

I've used spacebags and think they work pretty well. We actually borrowed a vacuum from our cabin steward for them on last cruise. I'm not sure if I'm going to use them again, but probably.

It is getting sooooo close now. I 'finished' all of my gifts last night! We are heading to WDW in 30 days! (leaving on the 12th) We are spending 2 nights at OKW. My DSIL is staying at the MCO Hyatt the night before.

I am spending this upcoming weekend finalizing our wardrobe. I need to do "fashion show" with the girls (trying on clothes, making sure they fit and limiting the number of outfits!!) I usually iron everything before we leave and pack in ziplock baggies. It works wonderfully. (best DIS tip ever!! ) they don't get too wrinkled, everything is together and it something happens to leak in your suitcase, the clothes are protected.
I am usually up very late the night before vacation, but this time (and I say this every time) I am going to be packed early and relax the night before and the following morning. Our flight is at 11 am, so we can take our time in the morning.

Who will be at the 'World' and who will be at the Hyatt?

We are going to be at BCV Feb 11-14. I do not have my kids closed ready, but I did get tuxes for them on eBay for formal night. Coudn't resist.

Oh that is going to be so cute! They will look so COOL, not cute. As a mom of 3 boys, I know that "cute" is def. not a word they want to hear. I am sure they will look totally COOL. Way to go!

we are akv from feb 11-14. we are going to chef mickeys for breakfast on the 14th and plan to take the dcl bus from the poly to the port. have to let cruise desk know the day before that we are getting the bus from the poly.

I have my FIRST 1/2 marathon in a little less than three weeks in Huntington Beach. My training has been going well, but now my leg is acting up and I'm getting nervous.

I'm looking forward to the 5k at Castaway Cay!

On the boat you can just charge everything to your room and pay at the end. Don't wait till the last night, everyone is there. It depends on if you plan to shop on land. I wouldn't think you would need much.
The shops on board have some cute stuff, I hope not to buy too much this time, just a frame or two.
