February 13, 2011 - 7 Night Mexican Riviera Sailing on the Wonder

First time cruisers here: On board will be Grandma & Grandpa, Mom & Dad, big brother (7) and twin tornadoes... err toddler boys (3 & 3). Be ye forewarned! =)

Hope you don't mind - I added you to the Roll Call List. Welcome aboard!:goodvibes

This is our first cruise and was interested in joining in on the FE fun. Is it too late?

Hi!:flower3: I added you to the Roll Call list. I don't believe it is too late to join the FE Exchange. The person organizing it mentioned in a post that the cutoff date for joine the FE Exchange might be this weekend. If you decide to participate, I will need to know how many adults and how many kids (gender and ages) are traveling in your party so I can add that to the Roll Call List. I will also need your room number so people know what room to drop off the FE Gifts. Your 1st cruise? You will LOVE IT:banana:

Friendly reminder to those participating in the FE Exchange and havn't provided me with their room #s - please do so as soon as you have your room assignments so I can add it to the Roll Call List. Thanks!:goodvibes

I too was hoping this info was correct. We have Palo booked for Valentines day and now we will not miss formal night:thumbsup2

I realize you are not the "organizer" just the OP of the meet thread but I am curious if a dis meet has been planned. I have read other groups do this.

For those of you organizing FE's
I am on the fence about the FE's and now see the cut off :)
I'm worried about how much work it will be. Do FE gifts get delivered daily by everyone or one time per family? Does a schedule get created? I know my kids would get a kick out of the whole thing but finding time to make an FE and buying gifts may not be in the cards at this point.

I do not think a Dis Meet has been planned for this cruise. Perhaps we can see how many people might be interested in it. What does everyone say? Are you up for a Dis Meet? If there is enough interest, we can arrange something:)

From what I've read most people will do up one gift from their stateroom to everyone on the list, or sometimes a joint item for the adults and a separate gift to each of the children. There's probably ambitious folks out there who do small daily items but I'm not going to be one of them :lmao: (Except maybe valentines day...since I think DS is going to miss the drop off at school he may decide the ship is a good alternative)

To get an idea of numbers there was 27 adults and 25 children as of yesterday.

I have no problems making up a schedule for drop offs if it makes things easier for people. It is a vacation after all :)

I think that would be neat, and if it would give anyone who gets a last minute room # change a chance to let everyone know. Our previous cruise we got new room numbers a week and a half before we sailed, so it can happen!

Thanks for prepping and posting the spreadsheet, TaniaU! I'm sure it will come in very handy.

Personally, I'd prefer not to have a schedule for dropping off FE gifts. But, if I'm in the minority, could I request being scheduled on or before the Pirate Night. (Giving out something that lights up.) :sunny:

So what does a Dis Meet entail?? Just picking a time and place to mingle together early in the cruise? If that's the case, we'd certainly try to make it!

We're up for a meet and greet!

As far as scheduling FE's, I am not a schedule kind of gal...
You can schedule me but in all reality I am going to do deliveries when it is convenient for me :))))'

Nope, never done a FE before :) I think a cut off of this weekend would be for the best, then it would give everyone enough time to assemble their gifts.

I've put the spreadsheet up on google docs here. It's public right now, but if anyone would like actual names I'll collect those and add them in and then lock it to invite only. Also let me know if there's any errors :)

I think names is not such a bad idea, how does one know if there are two kids in a room, which is 13 and which is 4?

Just a thought

I would ignore it for now. If you look at my cruise plans and the scheduled of activities you have booked the original change shows there.
I read on another thread dcl is in the process of making all the changes to their site and everyone sailing in the MR shows that itinerary even thought we don't all follow that one...just a glitch.

I hope you are right since I wanted my spa treatment on a sea day. I keep changing the day but now I have 2 reservations and I'll cancel one when I know for sure our sea day is. Is is also a glitch when you go to book excursions and spa and it is with the new itinerary?

Yes, it is our first cruise. Hopefully, the first of many. Our stateroom is #2014
2 adults 2 kids

Me(40) DH (41) DD (9) DD (8) hope I did that right :hippie:

I have never been to a Dis Meet before but I believe a specific place and time is set for the 1st day ideally or the 2nd day. Does anyone have any suggestions on a time and place? Maybe someone who has been to a Dis Meet before.

I found and bumped a thread on this topic.

Would the Promenade Lounge work for a meet location? Or is it too small?

I'm getting so excited now :)

I think that with the number of people involved I don't need to do up a schedule for the FE exchange. Just let everyone go at their own pace and in their own time.

We would be glad to do the meet and greet also. Shore excursions for the 2nd Cabo day are available on the website in case anyone is interested...we are getting really excited also. I agree that it is probably better to let people deliver their FE gifts on their own schedule. Can't wait, only two weeks and a day before we fly to California!

I'm really confused:confused3 Am I doing something wrong? The second day on Cabo. ( Feb 18th) excursions have been up forever...I can't figure out how to book for Feb 15th:sad1: It always comes up on the 18th
