Are your clients causing you to tear your hair out yet? These next couple days are going to be crazy! I haven't heard from several clients yet. Ugh! I had planned to send them all a letter letting them know that I will file an extension for them, but I don't know if I will have time. I am taking a quick lunch break right now to let my brain rest and think about something much more pleasant than taxes! Good for you to be willing to take time out of your busy season to spend some time with your family. My father just lectured me yesterday at Easter dinner about how important it is to put your family before your job. I agree! I just can't help feeling guilty about leaving my partners during tax season even though I don't expect them to do my work while I am gone.

My DS, Ryan will be happy to hear about your twin DS's! He is used to having other Ryans around. In his class there are two other Ryans. We didn't realize it was such a popular name when we named him!

Today we are 300 days away from our cruise! Yay!

I am also making my 300th post! That has got to be some kind of cosmic milestone!

Hello everyone! I just thought I'd take a little time to post and bump us back up again. We went to Las Vegas this past weekend. Had a wonderful time but of course it wasn't as great as being on a cruise! LOL My moms wedding was really nice. We had a fancy dinner at Gallaghers in New York New York after the wedding and that was super yummy! Anyway, nothing new going on here. Only a little more than a month left of school and then I get almost 3 months off to enjoy summer!

I am glad you had a nice time in Las Vegas. Did you win big? One of my co-workers is there right now. He has been there for a week. I think that is a long time to stay in Las Vegas, but he loves it there! All the noise from the slot machines and the smoke gets to me after a while in casinos!

I can't believe it is almost May and that school will be over soon! Are you a teacher? You seem to be looking forward to the end of school more than I am! It used to be a huge problem for me to figure out what to do with my kids during summer vacation while I worked. Luckily, I found this wonderful farm that has a day camp. My kids love going there and I like all the activities the farm offers. I only work two days a week in the summer so that we all get some time to relax.

No, unfortunately I didn't win big. I don't do a whole lot of gambling while I'm there. I mostly love just people watching and looking around all the beautiful casinos. And the smoke and noise gets to me too. I end up taking tons of showers because I can't stand the smell in my hair. LOL

And I'm not a teacher but I'm the head cook at my dd's school. I love doing it but at this time of year I'm definately looking forward to being away from it for a few months. It's starting to get pretty warm here so it's hot in the kitchen! Of course being off for the summer means that I have to be with my kids and their constant bickering for the entire summer. Hmmm, maybe I'd rather be working. LOL

I understand about bickering kids! My kids have a knack for bugging each other!

It is getting warm here too. Today it will be in the 80's. Two days ago, it snowed here and was only in the 40's. Ugh! It may snow again next week! Snow in May is pretty sad! These weather changes are tough for our systems to handle!

OMG! I don't think I could handle snow in May! Thank goodness I've never seen that here in MN. That would maybe cause me to pack up and move someplace south. LOL It was 92° here yesterday and today it's only 52°. What crazy weather!

92 degrees in MN in April must be some kind of record! That's crazy!

May is the prettiest time of the year in Michigan. Right now, all the fruit trees are blooming, the tulips and daffodils are blooming and the grass is nice and green. It is beautiful!

Hello!

With all the hoopla on the boards over the California cruises and the repositioning cruises, I thought I'd check in and see if you are planning to go on any of them. I think I saw that lotsofboys is booked on one of the cruises. Congratulations!

We aren't planning to go on any of the cruises due to the cost of the airfare to California and the timing. Our summers are very busy. I would love to take one of the repositioning cruises! Being on the Magic for two weeks and going through the Panama Canal would be great! But we can't take our kids out of school for two weeks in May and we don't want them to miss the first few days of school in August. Oh well. At least we have our Western cruise to look forward to!

No, we're not planning on doing any of the CA cruises. I would also love to do the Panama cruise but I just can't afford that. I figured maybe if dh and I just went we could swing it but I really don't have anyone that is crazy enough to watch my kids for 2 weeks. LOL I'm wondering if since Lotsofboys is booked on one that means that she's cancelled going on the western carib. one in Feb. I know that's kinda of what she was hoping to do. Maybe she'll pop in to let us know.

Hi Gayl & Jen....you are correct, I was on hold with DCL for 63 minutes yesterday morning and was able to snag a spot on the repositioning cruise from Calif to Florida

We are fortunate in that our kids don't start school until after Labor Day so we will return the Satuday before school starts. Being from Calif the cost is actually less than our first 7 day Magic cruise which was middle of summer (highest prices of the year) and two Cat 5's!

Don't count me out yet for this cruise, we've kept it just in case we have to cancel the CA one. It seems like such a great group of people, I was really looking forward to meeting you all So if you don't mind I'll hang out here until we decide for sure to cancel?

We haven't told DSs yet, probably won't until next year, but they will be soooo excited. The older boys are fancinated with the Panama Canal and how it works that going through it will be the highlight of the trip for them.

What a wonderful trip the repositioning cruise will be for your family! You are lucky that the timing works with your DSs school schedule. Where we live, my kids start school the last week of August. I realized that my DD will start high school in 2005. I am sure that she would love to cruise on the Magic for two weeks, but I doubt she would want to miss the first week of high school!

Going through the Panama Canal will be a great experience for you! The Soo Locks are located in the upper penninsula of Michigan and we have been through them a few times. It is facinating to watch the water level rise or fall as you go through the locks! The stops along the way of the cruise should be interesting too!

It would be great if you could keep your reservation for the Feb. 12 cruise too! I would like to meet two fellow CPAs! And my DS is anxious to meet your twin DSs.

Is it warm in Minnesota? It is going to be 84 degrees and steamy here today. That's pretty warm for May! I even turned on our air conditioner this morning. I didn't want to come home to a house like an oven today!

Well, even though it seems like Gayl and I are the only ones checking in here regularly, I thought I'd just stop in and say "HI". Nothing exciting going on here in MN. It's been raining for the last 3 days and I've had enough of it but I know we desprately need it. It just makes all that spring planting awful hard to do! So what's the weather like where all of you are???

We've had several nasty storms around here this past week. We needed rain here too, but now we have flood watches for our area. We even had some water in our basement. Ugh!

The other bad thing that happend was that one of our big pine trees was uprooted during a very bad storm last Friday afternoon. Luckily, another pine tree braced it from falling on our house! Both trees were cut down today.

I did manage to do my Spring planting on Saturday. The ground was so wet, it was easy to dig in the dirt!

I love storms, but after the past week, enough is enough!

Sorry to hear that you had to take down some trees. But I'm happy for you that it didn't damage your house at all.

We a big spruce taken down last year because it was so huge and was touching the house and I was honestly afraid that we'd have one of those big storms and have it come crashing down on the house. I hated doing it but now I love it because I have so much more sun in my yard! LOL
