February 11, 2012 Eastern Caribbean on the Disney Magic***

I'm working on my FE gifties this weekend, and I noticed there are still a couple of people on the FE list that haven't updated their cabin numbers.

Oh and we got our cruise docs yesterday!!! WooHoo!!

Deb I sent a PM to both a few days ago and asked if they got their room numbers ,no answer yet. I think I'm going to just make the bags and leave their room number off for now. I can always add it latter

Jo, yes we can steer your isaac and my George in each others direction.new also have a 10 1/2 year old son Josh, who is super friendly. I'm sure they will have a blast.

In any case, you and I will be fast friends. I enjoy a "little tipple" too. Several of us plan to meet for mimosas poolside at 3:00 on sea days, and to do the martini and margarita tastings. I think they sell out, so book early. At guest relations, I believe.

You can bring on board as much alcohol as you want, but it must be in your carryon, so you'll have to lug it around until your room is ready.

ola everyone i have just joined the facebook page and will probably bombard everyone with lots of questions.

Anja i have told Isaac that he has nothing to worry about and showed him that there will be other 12 year olds. I know he'll be glad of any new friends so we will have to steer them in each others direction.

I am a little confused as to what drinks we can bring on board ie water sizes and amounts and alcohol. I'm not a big drinker but i would quite like a little tipple whilst getting ready for the evening.

Jo xxxx :)

We are stocking up on alcohol and water at Walmart on the Friday. We will be getting a case of beer and a bottle of bacardi . We have a small suitcase that fits the size of hand luggage on the plane. We were going to use that .

Thinking about dinner wear for the trip. Is this right?

1 formal night (adults formal, boys slacks, shirt and tie, girls princess dress)
1 pirate night (pirate or caribbean dress for all)
2 semi-formal nights ( sundress for me and girls, khakis and polo for guys)
3 nights cruise casual (nice jeans and top, no t-shirt)

How will I fit all our shoes???? Lol.

LOL sounds great to me!

I think we will have a pop along to Walmart as well.

Must say I am a little worried about the formal night and what my boys will wear. The only tie my eldest owns is his school tie. We have no call for really formal clothes over here. Looks like I'm going to have to get them some although I didn't really want to buy them it as they will wear it once and that will be it. I have loads Of lovely clothes but no formal formal ones! Booo :-(

Our sons, 12 and 10,will wear a shirt and tie with slacks. Agree, I'm not going to buy them a tux or rent one for just one or two hours of use.
I've read that there will be quite a range of attire on formal night.

I was also going to suggest consignment stores or maybe even thrift stores. You find some outstanding bargains and some great stuff for very reasonable prices.
Which is great when something is only going to be worn once or twice.

There is no need to buy anything, the kids will be fine in normal clothes. As far as the adults just something nice will do and there really is not a need for a tux. This is vacation and you should be more worried about having a good time.

Looking at the FE list #2 today and there are still some blanks for cabin numbers and confirmations. Is everyone just making enough for everyone on the list, then going home with extras if those peeps don't ever post again?

Has :cool2:anyone booked a cabana at castaway cay they might cancel..or would like to share space and expense... ? i didnt get on soon enough to reserve one and we really enjoyed it last time we cruised. I was hoping maybe when i got on the ship there might be some cancellations.

Yes, pretty much.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I've been busy putting together my FE and door magnets.

I am pretty sure there is only one semi formal night. Look here for some navigators and other info. :thumbsup2

Oh and for the kids - totally fine if they dont have suits. For formal nights you will see everything. Dont stress about it;)

But - i totally get it about the shoes. I think that takes about 1/2 of the weight in one of my suitcases!

Hi there. We're still going. When I first posted on here, we had not even taken our first cruise, which was back in October on the Wonder from LA to Mexico. We started looking at the forums for both cruises to learn about the FE and so forth. Well, we had a such a great time on the first cruise that prepping for this one kind of fell by the wayside. We did do FE gifts the first time and it was a lot of fun (although more time consuming that I imagined). We know we are too late getting back in the game for this one - but good wishes to everyone participating. If we get inspired, perhaps we'll still bring something to give out, but we don't expect anything back since we are chiming in too late. Looking forward to meeting people at some of the get togethers.

Here is a little on us - Todd and I got married in Vermont in July - and the cruise in October was our Honeymoon. We are both big Disney fans, including running in the Disney marathons and half marathons - just did the new Tinkerbell one in DL. We are currently going thru the process to adopt children out of foster care in Flordia, and we are still going thru the various paperwork and approvals. I'm an architect and Todd has his own IT consulting company. We often wear matching Disney shirts, so its fairly easy to spot us. See you in a week. --Jeffrey and Todd
