February 10, 2011 Dream

I just found this thread... this is our first cruise ever...

Is it too late to join in the FE???

Stateroom - 7170
Dis Name - Wendy&Grumpy
Family Name - Solomon & Nelson
First Names - Diana & Gary
No children this trip (we promised them we'd book a family cruise for the fall;))
Celebrations - We're celebrating my ability to tolerate Gary for 4 years. :rotfl::lovestruc
Allergies none

If it's too late to join in, I understand... just let me know as I'd love to participate (even if I do have to leave Grumpy behind to do it :lmao:)

We are still in 6040. I think reposting is a good idea. Last time we cruised on the Magic and were supposed to meet up with the group and on our way (right after Sail Away Party), we lost my son. Yeah, not a good feeling. He was safely found (that you God) Just an FYI --the ship has a great lost kid system. He was in the kids club within five minutes of him being "missing". He did the right thing by telling a Cast Member that he couldn't find his family. They whisk them to the kids club and then direct you there (after repeatedly assuring you that he's fine) to pick them up. Needless to say, we never made the meet up.
Long post to say we are still in the same stateroom. :rolleyes1

I was reading something about portable "wave" phones in each stateroom. They are for use on board or on shore so families can check in with eachother.

Purdue Mouse - I think I read that those wave phones are only for certain cabins (conceirge, etc). I'm pretty sure ours doesn't include one. Maybe I'm wrong. Guess we'll find out in a WEEEKKKKKK!

The ThomsLoveDisney have already left for thier trip. I:beach: They organized the FE I beleive...... :fish:

There is a pair of phones in every stateroom! Just came back from a cruise on the Magic ! :)

Hey y'all-

Leaving tomorrow! Can't wait. I looked at the spreadsheet- I think the Thoms Family left before it was completed. If anyone is still home and reading this, I'll post all of the changes from the spreadsheet in my next post. See y'all soon:)

Okay- I don't know if this helps anyone, but it helps me, so.... I put the room numbers in order, starting from the 2nd floor on up. I am just going to list families and room numbers, so if you need the ages, etc., you will need to go back to the original spreadsheet:) I am also including Wendy and Grumpy (that's also what I call my FIL, hope he doesn't read this-lol)- Not sure how many of you will see this, but I am planning on including them.

hey -- if you read this before your 3 day cruise please please post info when you return:

looking for info specifically:
1. what time does oceaners club open on the first day - what are the hours posted for oceaners club each day?

2. is there pirate night on the 3 day? what night - what time are fireworks?

3. and on Sunday what time does the navigator say you must be off the ship? I need to arrange fore a shuttle and family wants to stay on as long as possible just looking around and taking pictures - i assume pools are closed but we want to take our time leaving

Take a picture of the navigator please if you can -- all i have found so far is the 4 day navigator -- thank you and safe travels!!

Ack! I thought we were too late - haven't even made an FE yet.

Let me see what I can do. :)

Thanks for including us! (and if anyone can't, don't worry, we understand completely. :) )

Gonna go print out the list and get on it right away!

Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

I picked 11yo Abi up at school and told her we had a mission - as soon as we walked into Target she came up with a great idea  - so we now have 19 kids gifts & 11 adult gifts ready to go!

...and a tween who is very excited for her first cruise in October (she's not joining us this time but was quite happy to be able to help with the gifts and even more excited :yay: knowing that she will be participating later on!).

Thanks again for including us!

This time tomorrow we'll be ON THE DREAM!!!! :boat:

I cannot ever remember being this excited!!!

Silly, huh? :o

Thanks everyone for all of the gifts! My daughter really enjoyed giving and receiving. Hope everyone had a good time even if we had bad weather. We definitely will be doing another Disney in the future. Our fav cruise line so far! Safe travels home!

We had a great 3 day cruise -- just waaayyyy too short. The Dream was outstanding!! We booked for another one and said it would be a 7 day next time.

Just wanted to say Thank You  for all the great fish extender gifts!!! We had so much fun coming back to find our extender stuffed full of great surprises. A special thanks for all the birthday wishes for me and my daughter. It was an unforgettable birthday celebration.

What a great time! I'm prebooked for Dec 1. Can't wait to get back onboard.
I took a look at Club Pirate on Youtube and it looks like Jack was supposed to come from the top of the funnel to the stage. Wonder why they changed it???

Ship was just amazing. Need to get back on to finish exploring!

It was great to meet everyone!!! Hope to see everyone on future cruises!

Just got back to Chicago tonight. The Dream exceeded our expectations. We had a great time - thanks to all of you who extended the magic with clever and thoughtful gifts. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet up. I stopped by the atrium before the sail away celebration(s), but no luck. Too bad about the weather. We took advantage of a few spa services and enjoyed one of the best views on the ship. My 12 y.o. loved the Edge.

Oh, I didn't find a participating family in 7016 and guest services didn't have record of the name??

The oceaneers club opened at 6pm on port Canaveral day and closed at midnight. The lab closed at 1am.
On Naussau day the hours were from 9am - 12 MD (club) and 9am -1 am (lab)
On Castaway Cay day - 4pm 12 MD (club and lab).

Pirates night took place on Nassau day with events at 8pm, and 10pm with fireworks at 10:30. Lots of families and couples dressed the parts.

On Debarkation morning, breakfast was at 6:45am 1st seating and 8 am 2nd seating in the 3 rotational restaurants. No buffets and no room service. Everyone had to be off by 9am. It went surprisingly smooth with little waiting, but we were off the boat by 8:10am We used ACE transportation for a 3 way plan. It was a little cheaper than Disney transport and they were always on time. Hope this helps.

Big Boat!!!!! Wow even the not so great weather got to me there was so much to see!

Thank you everyone for all the fun surprises!

I have to tell you all -- Grumpy, who gave me such a hard time about participating (he is very anti-anything fun!), was always the first one to peek into the bag when we got back to the room - you've all converted him!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks again!
