February 10, 2007 7-Day Western Who's coming?

My brother is actually from Newport MI. Only about 1/2 hr from you tops. Have you gotten your room assignment yet? We are in the 2000's midship by the elevators. We were cat 12's and then our TA got us into 9's when the military rates were released. I'm still hoping for a bump to a 6 but again I am just happy to be on the ship.

Just joined DIS and I'm happy to say we'll be joining you in February! I'm sooo excited--February can't come soon enough!

I'll be traveling with my DM (just celebrated her 70th birthday!), my DH, and my 11-year-old DS. We sailed on the Magic in January 2005 to the Eastern Caribbean and LOVED it! Even my grumpy DH who was so sure he wasn't going to like it. :rotfl2: He LOVED it and now can't wait to get back on board.

I've been reading through the boards and WOW there is an enormous amount of great information out there. I'm blown away--it's awesome. :cheer2:

Take care!

Wow...I haven't posted on the boards in a LONG time. Just "rediscovered" DIS. Anyway, my little sister is working on board the Magic and so me and the family will be coming on board this week to see her. I have NEVER done a Disney Cruise nor ANY cruise before, so it will be all new to me. Would love to meet other fans out there!

Welcome Ocean Breeze, :welcome:
I think it is so wonderful that so many of you are taking your parents/inlaws/moms. :grouphug: That must be so awesome to share an experience like that with them. Treasure them while you have them. :cloud9: Would your son like a penpal? My friend that is going with us has a DS 11 that is slightly shy. I want to make sure that he enjoys the clubs so my friend can enjoy the adult clubs with us. :drinking: party: :drinking1 Very selfish of me I know but this is her first cruise. I've already connected him with Dmwalsh's DS11 and it would be great if he could meet more kids. PM me if you think your son would be interested. Where are you traveling from?

We're coming from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Should be dark, cold, and grey up here right around February 9th, so I figured it would be GREAT time to head south for sun and fun :sunny:

I have not gotten my room assignment yet, and I won't til I get to the port. I'm going on the "Space Available" discount (because I'm a Cast Member), so basically they'll put me in a room that is available at the time of boarding. I did pay to have the guarantee of a Verandah room though, so I know that much. Most likely we'll have a "Navigator's Verandah", which is just fine by me! Along with that though, I don't know what dinning rotation we'll be in, and we can't sign up for Palo til we get to the port. This discount has a lot of limitations! Again, I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Ocean Breeze and Yensid1222 - It it good to see more people joining. Our group is coming from Minneapolis, MN (DH, DS-6, DD-10) and Milwaukee, WI (MIL-72, FIL-72). First cruise for me and the kids, DH and IL's have went before.

The kids started working on a count down chain last night. Been talking about it for awhile, but decided it was time!

We also CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Kids count down? I've had my countdown on my phone for a year!

Anyone doing any of the Spa treatments? I think I am going to try the massage . . . ? Has anyone done one in the past? Trying to pick the best time is hard!!! don't want to miss any of the other fun!

Last cruise I took another posters advise and went from the adult hottub to the spa to use their roomy shower, steam room, and lounge room (all free)before going to my room. I keep reading all the services they offer, and heard wonderful things about all, but can't bring myself to spend the money or the time.

It has been great discovering all these forums. We are coming from Texas, and this will be all of our very first cruise. It is actually going to be very special since we are coming to see my little sister who is working in entertainment on board.

SO...

I appologize now if I am a blubbering crying fool during "Twice Charmed."

What are the ages and family members travel with you YenSid1222 (if you don't mind me asking)? We have: me42 (ow that hurts to write that!), DB41, DSIL36, DD24, DD's friend29, cousin52, friend32, friend43, friend's husband40, friend's son11, friend's son24, friend's MIL60, friend's FIL62.

Now you know you'll have to tell us which one your sister is. We are a nosy bunch. Well, ok...I am nosy.

Just look at my name how it is over there...and the quote...you can figure out who my sister is...

As for us...it is my 33 (will be 34) year old self...my mother who is 55...my sister who is 30, her husband (34 also), my neice (1st birthday in 2 weeks!!!), and I think on of my brother-in-laws family but they can't seem to commit to anything (fine with me...oh....did I type that out loud?).

Thats it at the moment. Actually, I am getting excited because we are going to fly down to WDW in a week and a half and spend saturday the 16th at the port to give my sis her Christmas presents so she will have them to open on the 25th (her first Christmas without family!). She has arranged a tour of the ship while it is in port. Woohoo!! I can't wait..then I will be more excited about actually taking the cruise. Then we are going to watch her sail away (cue the tissue and me crying like a baby while standing in Port Canaveral...)

Anyway, I am excited to say the least.

Actually talked to sis today while she was off the ship in Key West. Told me Thomas Schumacher (head of Disney Theatrical) is on board until Wednesday...he will see her in TC. She is a bit nervous...but I know she will be AWESOME!!!

That is so great for you! You sound so proud of her. I can't wait to see the show. I understand what you mean about Christmas. My daughter is in Korea and this will be our first Christmas apart. I hope you have good weather for your trip and enjoy the tour. Your mom must be so excited too!
