His birthday is on the 24th - CC day. The entire trip is a surprise. He loves Disney. We're DVC members and every time we pass the DCL info at BCV he begs to go. I figure he is old enough that he will remember this trip.

The family reunion we had planned on points fell through and this was a great way to use them since the other option was to lose some of them.

I'd love to do the fish extenders if anyone else is. That looks like fun.

We just booked our excursions last night. Just a few conflicts that I have to work out.
I was just thinking about the fish extender gifts. It didn't seem like enough people were interested in doing it.
But if there are some, I'd be happy to help organize it! Gather the list of participants and their stateroom numbers and such....
If not the fish extender we could still plan a meet and greet...

This will be my first cruise, so I've never done a fish extender exchange or a meet, but I'd love to help organize/help in any way I can.

Add us in -- my DD and I will be on the cruise with you! Alice_on_WONDERland, we will be sharing your birthday celebration as my DD's birthday is also Feb 23rd. Did you have them note it on your reservation? My birthday is the following week (3/1), so I'm celebrating early if you guys don't mind!

DD has that Monday and Tuesday off school. We originally had planned a long weekend at WDW, but when they put out the deal to cruise and get the $99 cruise in fall, it was SO tempting. DD will miss two days of school, but we will go back on Thursday and get homework and she will have Friday and the weekend to catch up on homework.

We will be arriving at WDW late Friday night (2/19) and going to parks on Saturday. We are DVC members. I had OKW booked for our original plans, but I am going to try changing that. My DD has always wanted to stay at the Poly, so that is a possibility. More likely, though, we will use points and try for BCV.

We would absolutely love to get in on the fish extender exchange!!!! We have never done this, but it sounds like a lot of fun. We are in a Cat 12 this time, so we won't know our room number until close to cruise time. Hope that isn't a problem.

I'm glad you asked about noting the birthday on my reservation - I forgot to do that! Since your birthday is soon after, we're sure to have a bunch of birthday blasts!

You are definately added to the Fish Extender list. I do not know our stateroom number yet, either. We are a cat. 12 (hoping for a upgrade!) also.

We have one more family to add to the FE exchange....but he is not a disboard member.....so count him in!

I'm booked in a category 12 too....so I'm sure we will finalize the list close to our departure...LOL

we are in a Cat 4 and I have a feeling we are going to be left out of the fun with the Cat 12's!!

I'm going to get together a list and instructions on the fish extender exchange and send it out later.
Also, I'm going to PM the others on this thread in case they don't know it's a go.

So when do you think is a good time to have a meet and greet? The first day so that we "know" each other for the whole cruise? Maybe right after dinner so we are not rushed?

Any suggestions???

Why don't we all meet at the Mickey pool on our first day? That seems to be where all the DIS'ers head as soon as they board anyway!

Just learned something...

"Lime green has become the "official" color of the DIS. Many times DISers wear lime green ribbons so that other DISers can recognize them. The DISers who originated the idea, did so to make sure it was an unusal color that would stand out. It's a way to get to meet other DISers."

So do we want to do something like this so we can recognize each other on the first day? Maybe I could make a cute little ribbon/pin to wear on our shirts or lanyards... I'd be more than happy to make something and mail it to each of you before the cruise!

Hi all! Silly me, I can't believe I forgot to include DD's age. She will be 17.

I've got the pre-cruise stay at WDW set now. I couldn't get into BCV on DVC points for both nights (one night was booked), so we ended up at BWV for the 2 nights before the cruise. We will get in late on Friday night, so we will have one full day at the parks on Saturday. We decided to go to Epcot for the day and DD17 wants to have supper at Yachtman that evening for an early b-day celebration. It seemed to make sense to stay close to both Epcot and Yachtsman.

We will be taking DCL bus to port on Sunday. Anyone have an idea what time it leaves the resorts and goes to the port?

We are looking forward to the FE exchange and meeting everyone!

It is VERY COLD here in MN today. Temp is supposed to drop to -16 degrees tonight with -30 wind chills! What's up? We should be having highs in he upper 20's this time of year. It sounds like the cold will continue for the next week to 10 days with the best day at 18 above zero. Someone tell Mother Nature that winter doesn't even start until next week!

i just sent out a mass private message to everyone that has replied on this thread inviting them to the fish extender/ meet and greet.
I didn't want to leave anyone out, so even those that were already confirmed recieved another message.

REMEMBER:

We will need the ages of the kids and if they are boy or girl. You may include names if you wish.
And if you know it already, your cabin/stateroom number, so we know where to find your fish extender. This info will be kept OFF this thread. I will send out a private message/email to everyone when the list is final.
